Hi All,

My mom, niece and I have an 8 night trip planned from Apr. 3 to 11/24.

The plan is, as of now, to do Apr. 3 to 6th at the Garland, one day Universal with express passes, one day LA tour, then leave to check into Paradise Pier on Saturday, Apr. 6th.

We will be taking Ubers/Lyfts as transportation.

My question is this.....should we leave Friday night (Apr. 5th) after our LA tour (which brings us back to the Garland 6ish)....and head out to Paradise Pier on Friday night OR wait until Saturday morning to head to Paradise Pier.

I know that the DL fireworks is only on the weekends...and frankly, we prefer the DL area more than the Universal area....but I am concerned if we leave The Garland Friday night it might be a horrendous Uber drive to Disney.....

Thoughts...comments...questions....

Thanks all.....!!!!!

It's our first time to DL (we have only done WDW many times) and stay on property....and also do Universal Studios Orlando on property...so this will all be new...but very exciting for us!!!!

Love the Garland! Be sure to take advantage of the on-site activities they have - my middle still talks about the movies by the pool with pizza at night. Lol

Even though I love the Garland I’d definitely head out Friday evening, especially if you are planning to hit the parks at all on Saturday. I don’t think the drive will be any worse than a Saturday morning as many locals will head south on weekends. It will put you in the Disney state of mind vs travel state of mind. Also if you have G+ on your tickets this will mean you can scan in earlier. Even if you aren’t visiting the parks you’ll be able to explore downtown Disney, enjoy the hotel amenities, etc. Friday night for sure in my book.

I would leave on Friday night so you're already at the parks to start fresh on Saturday morning. One year we stayed in LA first and the morning we moved to Anaheim we got into the parks around 1:30 after packing up, checking out and driving to Anaheim. We were in Play Del Rey, which is closer than the Garland.

The Garland looks so nice, I've always wanted to stay there!
