Woke up today at 8am, after a quick shower [please note Val tells me she was up an hour earlier and was ready to go at 8 lol], I grab a quick coffee and Danish from the food court, and we catch the Disney bus to MGM, this is much to the boys annoyance as they wanted me to take the car, but I really enjoy not driving when I can get away with it.
Arrived at MGM at 9.15 and headed with the rest of the people to R’R coaster, decided that a 35 minute queue was too long [little did we know] so fastpasses for Scott and I, Val decides she will not ride this as she might dislodge her hair and we would not want that as it would entail a trip with the brush to the rest rooms for an hour lol

We decide we would just stroll around today and ride anything that was not too busy. Our first ride off this holiday was the GM Ride, took just 10 minutes to get on, always love this ride no matter how many times we ride it I always notice something different. After this we went to the coffee shop [I am sorry the name escapes me], Val and I had a coffee and Glenn had a hot chocolate, ok I had a cake as well!! We stayed in there for 20 minutes or so looking at the cd’s and books, to be honest I would buy everything and send it back home if I could, I just love this place.

We then decided on the back lot tour, which again was enjoyed by all, they had to listen to me moaning about no Osborne lights again and again, I really missed them this year they were always a favourite on previous visits at Thanksgiving.

After the back lot tour it was fast pass time for R’N’R Coaster, Scott and I went to ride it while Val got fastpasses for millionaire. I have ridden RNR coaster so many times but the take off always gets me, while Scott waves at the Camera and looks cool I look like my eyes are popping or like some demented fool even when I am trying to be cool. I must admit it is nice to have some time with Scott, as we seem to spend less and less time together as he gets older. We meet up with Val and Glenn in the shop and I know what is coming “Dad can I have this” Glenn was playing up a bit so I would not get him the miniature guitar in a box that he wanted and told him he could have it another day when he was good, which I totally regret now as he was just excited to be at WDW and that pesky guitar was sold out and never back in stock at all during our vacation.

We brought some fruit and some snacks as we are trying not to eat a meal as we have reservations at 1900 Park fare tonight. We managed to walk on to Star Tours, for some reason it always reminds me of flying with British Airways.lol

We then just walk around for 20 minutes taking in the sights and have our usual family picture with Mickey Mouse, we get one every trip and just replace it in the frame at home, kind of “ A family growing up and getting older at WDW”.

After seeing the Millionaire show, we head back to the All-Stars by bus, not before buying Val a pair of earrings that match her Mickey Chain she got for her 40th Birthday present in February, I just could not resist them as I knew how much she wanted them.

As usual there was a bus waiting for us to take us back to the ASMo, we got back to the hotel and the boys were in the pool by 3.30, ok I was having a few beers by 3.15, well I cannot swim!

We let the boys swim for a couple of hours while Val and I had a couple of drinks, and for someone that tells everyone that she does not really drink alcohol, Val sank two long island iced teas in pretty quick time [hope she does not read these reports I will be on borrowed time!]

We decide to get the bus to MK and the resort Monorail to the Grand Floridian, for a Franklin family first “we arrive early for a PS”, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table but it did not matter as we love having a walk around this hotel. The Christmas tree and decorations are worth the trip alone, I always wonder if one day we can afford to stay here?
We were sat at a table by the entrance, we saw all the characters and just to embarrass Scott, he went very red a silly when Alice came over, and nearly sprinted across the table to have his picture taken, I was thinking for god sake don’t kiss her lol!!!
The food here is always good and as in previous visits I stuffed and stuffed. After the meal we or should I say Val decided that visiting MK would be a good idea, look it is 10pm I am stuffed to within an inch of bursting and you are talking about walking for two hours, riding the mountains, I want too go back and sleep it off. So after listening to me whine and plead and being very understanding, we enter the Magic Kingdom!!

It is still so busy here, but not to worry nobody cares about me anyway, seriously within 30 minutes I am on Splash mountain with the boys, ok for someone to decide not to ride and shop instead, hold on was it not your idea? To be honest I really enjoyed this ride, we met Val after and decided to queue for Thunder Mountain, in the queue three young teenage girls took a liking to Glenn and his English accent, they even took his picture, all through the queue they kept getting him to speak to them! They kept saying you are so cute; I tried to pretend to Val that it was just an excuse to talk to me but she was having none of it. Riding Thunder Mountain at night is awesome; I always think we will derail lol!!

Then for the best part of the day, walking through Frontierland and Main Street after midnight, only a few people around, the four of us talking and laughing [ok at my expense], having fantastic Christmas decorations, Christmas music and I am wearing a t-shirt, and everyone back in the UK will be in coats etc, ok the illusion was shattered when Val disappeared into the Emporium, but the last 15 minutes is what WDW is all about!

We got back to the All Stars around 1.30am, a long day but worth it.
