Hi All... my computer crashed shortly after we returned home from our wonderful trip in July. I've been too depressed at the thought of reloading all our pictures but I thought I should. So, it is an old food report but thought it might help someone. I'm not the world's best writer so, it will be quick report.

Let's start off with the Cast Members:

Me -- love all kinds of food
Dad -- loves everything too
dd11 -- had a hard time this trip deciding between kids' meals and adults
dd8 -- loves kid food and sweets

We took a red-eye from California and arrived in Florida around 10 am. We were staying at BCV and used ME. We arrived at 11:30 am and we were checked in and in our room by noon. Our plan today was to hang out at the resort and meet up with my friends who had already arrived. We did share some meals with them as well. But first we needed to feed the kiddos before they had a meltdown. So, off to Beaches & Cream we went. I was surprised we had no wait. Here's what we got:

Vanilla Shake:

Chocolate Shake (opps, dds eyes are closed):

I ordered onion rings with the chicken ceasar salad. I'm not a huge fan of their burgers here. The onion rings were COLD. Who eats cold onion rings. Although, they looked beautiful when I took a picture.

Dh had the Steak Philly sandwich with fruit. He liked it much better than the burger. I'm thinking next time we need to skip this place as we don't fit in. LOL...

Our oldest ordered a turkey sandwich... see, I told you we were weird.

The other dd did order the cheeseburger:

BTW, we are paying out of pocket for all our meals as we are using TiW card. We didn't even order dessert. GASP!!! We did share the milkshakes as they were HUGE. However, dd8 got a dessert with her meal:

Well... we all liked our meals even though we didn't order burgers. We would dine here again but only if we were staying nearby. We wouldn't go out of our way to eat here.

Better late than never, I love my Dis Food Porn

We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming, waiting for Garden Grocer & unpacking. For dinner that night we went to Marrakesh. I was very excited about this meal. I've been waiting a long time to eat here and it did not disappoint. However, I will have to admit we were all pretty cranky being here as we were tired from our red-eye flight. So, we were anxious to eat and go to bed.

Dh ordered a Casa Beer. I ordered Casa Sunset: Apricot brandy, orange juice, and cranberry juice, topped with DeKuyper Peachtree Schnapps. It was very good and hit the spot. My dh loves trying different beers so, he enjoyed his beverage:

We loved the entertainment provided. Or should I say DH liked it.

We did not order appetizers. My family was full which became a trend going forward.

For dinner I ordered the Beef Shish Kabob. It came with this yummy pickled vegetables (I wanted more of that). It was like a mild tasting salsa. Plus, they had a side of carrots. They were marinated in a viniagrette as well. Very good. Also, there was some Hummus with pita chips. I LOVED my dinner:

Dh ordered the Lamb Shank, it came with orange flavored couscous He liked it a lot.

Bread-- the bread was pretty bland:

2751868140041821303S500x500Q85.jpg

Both kids ordered Pasta with meatballs, they both said it was okay but it didn't come with enough sauce:

2571435570041821303S500x500Q85.jpg

I ordered dessert but no else would  I couldn't pass up Bakalava. My all time favorite. I make it every year for Christmas. Moroccan Symphony was an assortment of pastries. I can't remember all of the names but they all were good:

This place is definitely on our list! The kids didn't like it as much but I sure did. We enjoyed the entertainment as well.

Next up... our Epcot Day. This is when we discovered our travel partners (my friend from High School along with her dh & ds) don't enjoy the dining thing as much as we do ;-).... But you gotta eat. My friend really wanted to have lunch at the Boulangerie Patisserie in France. I wasn't too excited about this option because one I've been to France and our food just doesn't compare & second I thought the options were limited for a lunch meal. I think, for me it is definitely a snack stop. Later I discovered my friend who I thought I knew eats a LOT of junk food throughout the day. She acts like she loves food but in reality she doesn't eat the good stuff. LOL... But being the flexible person I am we went to France in search of lunch. I was secretly eyeing Tangerine Cafe but her family would not have that funny food pass their lips.

So, I took some photos as we were looking at the display case. My youngest was really struggling here. They had a cheese sandwich but it was made with Swiss not exactly part of my dd diet.

2876894580041821303S500x500Q85.jpg

Ahhh... here's some REAL food... you could have ham & cheese sandwich or crossiant, cheese plate with bread or ham & cheese quiche..

2350925880041821303S500x500Q85.jpg

So, we finally decided on the quiche and 2 sandwiches... Chocolate mousse & chocolate cake:

2142207970041821303S500x500Q85.jpg

Dessert: Chocolate Cake... Very good here.. and I'm not a cake person..

2753236230041821303S500x500Q85.jpg

The food was okay. I liked it but it didn't feel like a full meal. My kids weren't too happy with the swiss cheese in the ham sandwiches. But we ate it and survived while my friend went on and on about how good lunch was. I didn't take a picture of their food but they all got pasteries...

In the end, I had to reward myself with a GreyGoose Slushie... Yum-O...

2446357770041821303S500x500Q85.jpg

We would come here for dessert or snack but never a lunch meal. Oh... I should also add my friend's family was staying at the Conceirge level at Beach Club Villas. So, since they were already paying for the food there they really took advantage of it. So, many times they did not eat a "real" meal when we ate because they had been stuffing their faces silly at the lounge. And, they would leave the park for a break just to go get a snack too!

I'm so glad you decided to post! Great reviews, and I am always game for more food pics!!!

Moving on.... That evening we had reservations to eat at Biergarten. We really enjoyed this place last year and couldn't wait to eat here again. We love the music and the dancing. It is a fun place for family to enjoy:

Here are some pictures I took of the buffet. Up first is the pretzel bread & other bread but to me the pretzel bread is the best :worship:...

Another Meat Picture--Sausage Platter with Grilled Bratwurst, Mini Regensburger and Double-smoked Pork on Sauerkraut & ??? -- but I can't remember here- I think, I might have gotten these items mix-up):

2578201990041821303S500x500Q85.jpg

Desserts... Left to right it is Vanilla pudding, chocolate cake, Bavarian cheesecake, fresh fruit, mixed berry fruit compote (it was different), vanilla sauce

2895970830041821303S500x500Q85.jpg

More desserts --- Apple Strudel & some sort of cake. It use to be Black Forest Cake here but they took it away. The black forest cake was delicious. The one at the snack counter is different than the one they had in here. I really missed that cake. I did not try the new one.

I definitely did not take a picture of the area with the Homemade Spaetzel, roasted potatoes, etc because I remember it being there as I got some. Also, they had a kid buffet area.

Prior to WDW I had never really had German food and since our last trip I've been dreaming about it. So, we really enjoy the food here. We felt there was a good combination of food & beer here to keep everyone happy. The entertainment is very enjoyable. Plus, it looks like a German village inside. This is one of those places we'll eat at everytime we come to Epcot.

Great reviews and pictures! Thanks so much for sharing~~~

Thanks for posting the review.

I see it is some variety, not all German food.

Ed

To me it was all German food but then, again I don't know everything about German food. They had the bean salad, hot potato salad, etc.. things I remember eating at my aunts house where her dh was German. However, I felt familiar with most of the food. The only thing I didn't try was the Veal meatloaf. But there was definitely good variety at the is buffet. I liked it because it all mixed together and wasn't a hodge podge of stuff at a buffet.

Tina
