.... get ready.. there is going to be a FLOOD of DVC contracts entering the resale market from the state of Louisiana over the next few months as most of the state will become unemployed. Yeah things are looking very, very bad around here all of a sudden... last one out, please turn off the lights...

I truly hate to hear that -- I can't imagine what a scary prospect that must be for those who live there. Hang in there as best you can. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry for everyone there. I hope a way is found to turn this around.

I am so sorry for what your state and all of it's people are going through. I hope it doesn't come down to people selling their DVC but usually, luxuries are the first to go.

We are praying for you at our church. Katrina damage is still not all repaired and now this. I don't know how BP can say "we will make it right." Blessings to you, Louisiana DVCers!

I think the flood had already started. I get the dvcbyresale.com newsletter by email and have noticed that the number of contracts out there goes up and up each month.

Need to hold out for the best deal and not jump right a way the larger contracts usually have the lowest per point price.

... hope not to many folks loose all their DVC points, makes the point that you should buy small contracts. If you have to sell you can keep some and sell what you have to, plus you can get more per point for a 50 point contract than a 200 point.

I am so sorry for the Gulf states affected by this. We are praying for you all and hope this mess can be cleaned up and your economy back on track.

I really do feel for the folks of LA! The fiasco that is/was Katrena has still not been taken care of and now this!

Once I saw that poor pelican on the news, who was covered with oil, it hit me and I immediately logged onto the internet to go to Louisianna to help out. Maybe I'll see you soon!

Louisiana has gotten more than its share of disaster and tragedy over the past few years. And it will take years to recover. Other industries will fill in, but it will take a long time - parts of the country that have been wiped out through their own industries being destroyed 30 years ago aren't back yet - Pittsburgh steel mills, Detroit auto industry, and in my back yard - Iron Range mining.....

Let's stay on topic please - discussing DVC contracts coming back on the market is fine. Discussing the oil spill in general or any policitcal commentary is not allowed and/or off topic here. Thanks in advance everyone!

Well wishes from us here in NC.

I don't think we'll have a problem holding on to ours. We both work for the Federal Government and not the state government.

Now would be the time to buy resale.. if you can afford it!!!!!

Hopefully we will survive.. things are looking a tiny bit better these days...

DS's wedding will be in New Orleans in November, so we're helping out the local economy!:goodvibes
