The Flippant Trip - (new TWILIGHT TR update 11/16/09 bottom of pg 29)

Ooh, you got to ride the Lilly Belle! How cool! We wanted to do that on our latest trip, but it wasn't running. :sad1:

Looking forward to hearing all about San Diego!

Ok, so now that I am not going to San Diego, I get to live it vicariously through you. :goodvibes
Oh my gosh those pictures are incredible. I will have to go back & look at all of them & read the trip report too. I wasn't sure how I felt about the additon of the characters to Small World....but it looks like they did a great job fitting them in & making them look very appropriate to the scene. What did you think?

I completely concur. The message in this story has never sat well with me.

I'm sorry but I don't follow you. Which item are you replying to? :)

Yep! Sorry you missed it... will you be returing anytime soon? I see you are wanting to head to WDW next year.. I hope you make it!

It might be a little bit 'till San Diego... The holidays are coming and I just LOVE THEM!

I've been planning a Halloween party for 15-30 people. I am as ready as I'll ever be but MAN I'm tired! LOL People who do this all the time.. my hat is off to them!

I thought they looked pretty good BUT..... I don't know.. you know??

:lmao:

This is amazing!

I've been dying to see the new It's a Small World since the refurb. While that is not possible I did stumble across what I think will probably be pretty similar if not exactly what to expect.

I have no proof of this and it's probably easy to confirm or deny my idea on any ole Disney board BUT I think it's fun to speculate none-the-less.

Here is a link to a TR on the dis.. it's got some GREAT pics and they look like they had a GREAT time but pay special attention to the link that takes you to the HONG KONG DISNEYLAND portion.

Here you will find pics of the Hong Kong Disneyland It's a Small World attraction where you will see Disney Dolls added to the classic attraction as they are rumored to be added in Disneyland proper.

We shall see!

VERY INTERESTING!!!! (I caught on when I saw the little kitty from Aristocats)

What do you guys think of the addition of Disney characters to It's a Small World?

I heard they were going to add the characters into IASW. I didn't really care for the idea. But if they do it like that, it's actually not bad. They blend in fairly well. They still look like Small World kids even though they are movie characters.

I agree... I sorta wish it would be a part time thing. I think any change is good PART TIME. The classic should endure for future generations IMHO.

For all you Twilight Fans...

Countdown is ON!

A teaser.... raw video of a behind the scenes shooting. Nothing really paramount happens but it's interesting to see (if you like boring behind the scenes shooting!)

and here's another interesting tidbit... the movie's star, (Edward) stating that he has signed up for a TRILOGY of movies. I did not know that!

I am a little late to the party, but I must add my comments.
Your daughters look lovely in their pink and black dresses on page 1. I also love your wedding pictures. You were such a beautiful bride- positively glowing.

travelmel;28140504 Now that I am part of the read- and get others to read- Twilight cult maybe I said:
H A R R Y P O T T E R [/SIZE] :scared:

I liked the first movie with all of it's cuteness (Loved the moving newspaper, the secret city, all the kiddie stuff)
Harrypotter.jpg

but then it just got kind of ... i dunno... bogged down in story and not as much fun stuff. Of course, this is from the "watched the movie" only perspective. Maybe I'll try the book-work route. LOL

I would highly recommend reading the Harry Potter series. I thought they were great. I didn't love the movies, but I have re-read the books many times.
I was pulled into the Twilight series after reading Reyasmommy's trip report. I am not really looking forward to the movie as I hate how good books that actually get people reading are always made into movies. Then people stop reading the books. I would much rather read than watch a movie myself. The movie never looks the way I pictured the book in my head. :confused3

Great trip report. I love the picture of you and your family on the Lilly Belle. You all look as happy as can be!! :goodvibes

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Yay, I finally caught up on your whole TR...through the pics of 70s and 80s gods (how could your forget Starsky and Hutch..shame on you!)..and your amazing time on the Belle...and your awe of the nostalgia of the fireworks show.

Your TR has to be one of the most fun I have ever read. We sure have a similar sense of humor!!! So when are you going back! I want to read more!! (I know I still have your SD portion to look forward to, but I am thinking ahead.)

If the economy allows (i.e. I still have a job by the time the 45 days payment is due :scared1: ) we are going to WDW in late April. Planning a WDW trip anytime in the future? I guess I am going back to my "new" home park. hehe. Though DLR will always always always hold that very special part of my heart. EPCOT is a close second. :thumbsup2

Looking forward to San Diego!! What a great city.

I totally know what you mean about the book vs the movie. It was such a huge phenomenon that there is bound to be a back lash of some sort. I'm determined to enjoy the movie even if it sucks. :lmao: I don't care! In fact, I'm going beyond dorky and attending a premier party (probably Fri night though) at the place where one of the scenes in the movie was actually filmed. :scared1:

I know, I know.... :sad2:

:lmao:

I will definitely keep you "posted"

Thanks for reading!

I don't think that sounds dorky at all. I bet you end up having a lot of fun. You will definitly have to share your experience here.

I would like to see the movie, but I will probably wait for it to come out on DVD. I don't know anyone interested in going with me and I am not the type to go to a movie by herself- unfortunately. You will have to let me know if I can wait for the DVD or if I truly need to see it right away. :flower3:

My DD's are going back to DL this summer but not me. We're so far in debt! :scared: I've got to lay low for awhile. Boots with the fur low. lol

I'm glad you liked all my "extras" :rotfl: I was not a Starsky and Hutch fan! I know... I know... lol There were so many classics. DH is dorky like me with all the theme songs. In fact, the girls (DD's) know the words to ALOT of TV show theme songs and they have NO IDEA where they come from. Poor little things. :rolleyes1

San Diego will probably come after all the Twilight fun! Did I read your stance on the series somewhere? I get confused sometimes...

I did start a seasonal thread where I have been posting past Halloween stuff, pumpkin carvings, and fall pics. I figure I'll leave it open for Xmas if people still like posting! It's open for anybody to post and share. I love the holidays. :goodvibes

Thanks for reading! (to say the least :flower3: )

My original plan was to go see the movie, alone.. even though that's not my thing. But I wanted to just watch it like I read the book. Without anybody there with me so I could melt into anything I wanted. Good or bad! But, the movie party rearred it's ugly head and since I'm here in ORegon, I couldn't let it go by! :cloud9:

Edit: PS I still highly recommend that you go to a matinee..maybe in another town or something. lol But I'll let you know for sure after I see it (don't worry, no spoilers, just humble opinions.)

I just finished your TR. That is so cool that you got to ride the Lilly Belle. I hope to do that sometime, maybe in March.

And I love Fantasmic. It's my favorite ever. I am one of those nuts who will sit there with their blanket spread out and wait for 3 hours to see it with a front row view. :cloud9:

I can't wait to hear about San Diego. That has a special place for me and Ruben. We used to take our weekend getaways there. I miss it so much!!

I am thinking you may be right about needing to go. A mantinee might be a good choice for me. My husband often goes to movies and out to eat by himself when he is traveling. It can't be that hard, right? popcorn::

I think it'll be easy, peasy. For sure. :thumbsup2

The tickets I got are supposed to be very pretty. I took a picture of myself in my "prom" outfit I bought today. I'll post it along with the tix when they arrive.

I just finished your TR.

Took me long enough, eh??? :sad2:

I've been enjoying yours as well!

San Diego will have to wait until this Twilight thing dies down. I am all twitterpated!

What a cute idea to go in a prom dress. I bet there will be a lot of people going as vampires.
I went with some of the people my husband works with to opening night of the Sex and the City movie. All of the women were dressed up in outfits similar to what they imagined the characters would wear. It made for a fun night- even for someone like me who has never watched an episode of that show.

I cannot wait to see your pictures of your tickets and you in your dress. :cool2:

Ouch, stop.... Ok, since you twisted my arm!

They're really big... like half the size of a regular size piece of paper each. They're shiny and just REALLY nice.

I am too fat to wear a prom dress and be comfortable (for me) in it. I did find an outfit that I thought would be fun though.

My cousin went to a Sex in the City "Girls night out" before the movie and had a great time as well (without having seen the show). When I told her I was going she said all her friends are going but she hasn't had time to read the book. The coversation inspired her and now she's getting into it so she can be part of the crazy madness. It's just something fun to do! Why the heck not. This party is going to be 90% female for sure but what the heck do we need men for anyway. Most of us who can afford to go have husbands. :rotfl2:

Love those tickets & your dress.
I still haven't read Twilight. It is sitting on my shelf & is next in my reading queue. I am reading alot about Disneyland right now since we are 18 days away!!!!!!I hope to read it before I leave & then get the rest of the books when I get back. I turn my head & don't really look when the movie trailer comes on the tv so I don't spoil my own imagination when I read the book.
Have a blast on Friday.
