Hi! :wave2: We are honored to be your first post!!
Thank you for coming out of lurking! We're really glad to hear you're enjoying it!!

In our last update, I told you all we decided to miss our ADR so we could spend more time with Piper and Amanda. So where did we decide to eat? On our way to Epcot I called the WDW Dining number (is it bad that I have that number memorized? :confused3) and got an ADR in this beautiful country.

The place we would be eating at was Teppan Edo! I had heard wonderful things on the DIS about this restaurant so I knew we needed to try it! Plus, I love any form of Chinese and Japanese food!

After a short wait we were brought to our table along with two other families. We all ordered our appetizers and waited for the show to begin

My mom and I ordered the Tempura appetizer that included shrimp, chicken breast, and seasoned vegetables with a Japanese dipping sauce.I guess we didn't get a picture of but we both thought it was just okay nothing really special.

After our appetizers came out the chef came out and asked us what we all would be eating.
For my meal I ordered the sushi sampler that had tuna, yellow, tail shrimp nigin, and 2 pieces of California Roll.

I also planned on sharing with my mom.

My mom ordered the steak hibachi meal and my grandma ordered the chicken. Our chef was reciting everyone's orders and making sure they were getting what they wanted. My grandma didn't hear her, so the chef asked her again "Chicken?" while flapping her wings like a bird

Now my favorite part of the meal would have to be watching the food get made! I also liked eating it afterwards
First we received our sauces
momsdispics387.jpg

One was shrimp sauce, one was mustard and I forget what the other one was. All of them tasted amazing! The chef also told us what we should dip in each sauce while she poured them out. The shrimp sauce was good for anything but was best with vegetables and the mustard sauce was for steak or other meats.

The chef started off by making one of the other couples sushi

Our chef started by oiling the grill and she made a Mickey out of the oil.

Then she brought out the vegetables
momsdispics385.jpg

Then she made the infamous onion volcano!

She then passed out the noodles and vegetables

and began cooking the meat.

That was the end of our picture taking we were all starving! The food was amazing and our chef was hilarious! We all had a very good time and I absolutely loved my sushi! It is no surprise that we will be having another meal here on our next trip!

Up next....desserts around the world!

I'm not usually an Asian food person, but I really liked Teppan Edo.
The filet here was so soft, it could be cut with a fork!
And the kids like their meals as they are presented in a Japanese bullet train.
However, since we're in Disney, it looks more like a monorail!

The only issue is the chef.
Ours was just okay entertainment-wise but we noticed that the next table over had a great one.
A more interactive chef can definitely make the meal as the other table seemed much more into the experience.
So that means we'll just have to go back and try again! :goodvibes

We will have to try the filet next time!

My mom really wanted a kid's meal because of the bullet train  she also didn't think she would like any of the food there and would only like the kid's meal but she ended up liking the food!

You will have to go back!

We love Teppan Edo too! I wasn't sure my husband and kids would like it since they tend to stick with your meat and potatoes kind of meals. We had great assistants at our table that entertained the kids with modified chop sticks. Made it easy to pick up food and not drop it or shoot it across the table!

I miss reading about Piper and her mom's trip. I hope they are doing well. Your DIS meet with them was fantastic! I especially love the photo with Thumper. I will be looking for Thumper next time we go to WDW!

Thanks for sharing! Loving your trip report!popcorn::

Your food looks amazing...I especially love the Onion Volcano.

We'll definitely have to consider this one for a future trip.

Desserts around the world sounds yummy and I can't wait to hear what you guys decided to try:goodvibes

My mom is the same way so that's why we hadn't tried getting an ADR there but since I was the one calling I went with what I wanted to eat

I love the modified chopsticks! A couple of adults at our table used those

I hope Amanda comes back to the DIS soon! I loved getting to meet Thumper we also met his girlfriend but didn't have the picture to post :confused3

The food was very good! It was a lot of fun watching her prepare everything!

Desserts around the world was one of the best ways to go from country to country

Great Te Pan Edo pictures :thumbsup2 Everyone seems to really love this one including u all ! We've had ressie here several times and I always chicken out and cancel before our trip . lol With DD's food allergies I'm just always so nervous to eat any kinda of oriental food with her . I know they do so well with food allergies at WDW , in fact we use there food allergy program every year but it's just one of things that makes Mom extra nervous lol

Can't wait to see where your headed off to next popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Thank you!

Before they started the meal they asked if anyone had food allergies so they could take care of them before the rest of the meal was started no one at our table had any allergies but I thought it was nice of them to ask!

That is so great that you were able to get an ADR at Teppan Edo! Score! I love that place. Good food and good scenery!!!!!:thumbsup2

I love calling the WDW Dining hotline while on vacation and being able to get whatever ADR I want! I have done this on a couple of other trips and it always seems to work.

Yep the Japan pavilion is definitely one of my favorites!

I love it there too!! The last time we were there was in 2006:scared1: I really need to book an ADR there in the near future:yay:

Teppan Edo looks good. Haven't been there since it was the Teppanyaki Dining Room, but enjoyed it back then. There's just so many good restaurants at World Showcase that it takes so long to revisit them all!

I agree! There are so many places I want to eat at World Showcase!

On our way we stopped by Pizzafari...<snip>...I am a huge fan of bright colors and loved looking around this CS!

I am, too! I am slowly erasing all the white walls in my house and filling them up with bold colors! My extended family thinks I'm crazy, but I love how homey it feels! :thumbsup2

Great update! I loved hearing about your meet with Piper and Amanda! :goodvibes

There is nothing greater in the world than when you can say you made a difference in a child's life...you made a difference in her life:hug: I always knew you were special people:thumbsup2

Queen, you said exactly what I was thinking! Dawn, you should be so proud of what an amazing daughter you have raised! She is beautiful, inside and out!
