The first Free on your Birthday admission went to a DIS'er!

Tomorrow is Scott's birthday. We're going to Epcot.

Since we've got annual passes, he's getting a voucher for merchandise isntead.

Pretty sweet deal.

Plus, we're having lunch at Les Chefs de France. It's Shopping and Dining! (plus some rides thrown in as well...).

Awesome! Happy Birthday to Scott! I am sure that he will have no trouble spending some $$$ at the parks on merch. God knows we didn't have to work up a sweat to blow through a $1000 merch card last month. :lmao:

Hey! Happy birthday handsome! ;)

Happy Birthday Scott!

Happy Birthday, Scott!

I read a post earlier today about the birthday FastPass, and it sounds like the merchandise voucher is a much better deal. The FP is only valid for a total of 4 rides, and the rides are split into 2 groups so you choose 2 rides from each group. I don't recall seeing THOSE details listed anywhere before now!

We will be there for my birthday, but since it's not until August I am sure there will be plenty of reports about the different prizes before I have to choose! ;)

Happy Birthday Scott!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! One of my resolutions for 2009 is to post a little more on the Dis.

So here's how it went today. We arrived around 9:30 am today and headed over to the EPCOT front gates. As we got there, we saw a "Will Call" sign pointing to the left. We then headed over to two ticket booths that were clearly marked "Will Call". Each one had about 3-4 people in line. As we got to the window, I handed my printed page with the barcode, my drivers license, and my annual pass (since we both live here, getting a free day was pointless). I think that the fact that I had everything ready and I knew exactly what I wanted threw the cast member, since it appeared that she had her spiel ready to go. I was handed a "Birthday Fun Card", which is clearly marked, so you can't try to use it at food locations. As we were leaving, the cast member started to go into her spiel about being able to add extra days to my pass (she had forgotten that I got the Birthday Fun Card). When she realized her mistake, she profusely apologized, saying that this was their second day.

As far as redeeming the card, that was a piece of cake. We headed over to Mouse Gear as we were leaving, and I was surprised to learn that the sale that they have had over the Holidays (selected items 40-50% off) was still going on. So I was able to get a beach towel, and a t-shirt at 40% off, along with a polo shirt and a dessert cook book at regular price. Overall, with tax, I only paid $15.

So, long story short, Disney seemed to have their act together. I still a little peeved that you couldn't use it for food purchases, but, whatever. $75 of Disney swag on their dime isn't all that bad.

And I got to keep the Birthday Fun Card!! Woo Hoo!:cool1:

You make it sound like all we did was shop.

I seem to recall someone taking you for lunch, too . . . :rolleyes1

That sounds like a great deal. If you don't have an annual pass, do you still get the choice of getting in free OR the $75 gift card?

I would love to go for my birthday in September (21st to be exact *hint hint* just so you all have plenty of time to prepare) but we'll still be paying off our Pride trip to San Francisco in June I'm sure.

I'm desperately trying to convince the husbear that we need to go for his Birthday in October. If I tell him there's a chance of free cash, he's got to agree to go. Not like getting him to Disneyland is a hard thing to do.

I just give him my best really sad puppy dog look.

The way it is worded says if you already have a multi-day ticket for your admission you can choose another "gift". I think you would be able to choose the gift card.

Scott, thanks for the report! Now I just have to wait for August! :rolleyes1

:sad2: Oh well. Still a free pass for that day, should be enough. Either that or I'll start begging. He keeps saying we can't afford two trips next year. :sad2:

Ah, yes, Rob did take me to lunch at Les Chefs de France-one of my favorite restaurants. He had the escargot, I had the onion soup, and we both had the short ribs (Yum!). For dessert, I had the profiteroles which were adorned with 2 candles as the waiters sang "Happy Birthday" in French. Rob had the apple crepes.

If there's anything I left out, Rob can fill you in when he files his trip report.

Mocking me? About trip reports?

REALLY?

After how wonderful I was on your birthday.

Okay. I'll remember this. ;)
