The first day is pretty busy. The first day you receive your housing assignment (apartment complex), find out your roomies, get your complex ID, get fingerprinted, and get signed up for the Portal. You also will be attending a housing meeting later in the day.
We will fly down with our daughter a few days before her check-in day. Once she's checked in what do we do besides haul some things to her room? I heard there's really not much for the parents to do - you are kind of swept off to your meetings, etc. Would we be okay making our return reservations for later that day that she checks in?
i don't really remember what my parents did while i was getting all of my things. every time i saw them, they were sitting outside.
We drove down, but after i got everything moved in, my parents drove back to indiana that night. So you can make your reservations for that afternoon/night.

When I went down on my CP, my dad left the next morning. During the morning, while I was checking in, he went back to the hotel (there is an area for family/friends to wait). Then, while I was waiting for the housing meeting we went shopping at Walmart and then to dinner. So if you think she will be fine, then of course go ahead with the reservation.
