Hi Guys...Sorry I've been soooo MIA. Life totally taking over here :).

Quick update...and I apologize for not hitting journals yet, but I promise I'll try later tonight or tomorrow....

My Long Run this weekend was 8 Miles...managed to run it at a solid 9:52 pace...it was a pull-back week. My body needed rest so last week I really took a break...cut back on cardio, pilates and even on running. My hips were hurting, I was totally fatigued and just felt burned out. The successful 8 Miler really helped to boost my spirits and my legs are feeling better.

Today..my supposed rest day....I taught two straight Pilates classes and then did a cardio/pilates fusion class. My butt is totally kicked tonight! Ugh...8:30 am class tomorrow but then I get a full 24 hours to recover. Well....that and a 6 mile run on the schedule  . Soooo....will somebody smack me for taking on 8 classes this week. And I've been asked to teach more, one thing is for certain, finding work has been easy...saying no seems to be difficult.

This week is pretty normal....6 mile run tomorrow, 4 mile run on Thursday, some elliptical, a whole boat load of pilates and a 4 mile walk/run on Saturday. Long Run is still short on my schedule...8 glorious miles are scheduled! :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is doing well. I really will try to hit the journals later!

:grouphug: Thanks for checking in on me! Oh...maybe I'll find a photo of my Poshy hair. Although it's much less Posh these days...it's a bit shorter.

Hey Amy,

You know that the fact that they want you to teach more classes means that you are an awesome teacher, right?

I'm glad that your LR was a good one. Take it easy on yourself this week.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Amy,

Glad to hear that your long run went well. :goodvibes I'm glad that you listened to your body and cut back a bit last week.

That is wonderful that they want you to teach more classes! :cool1:

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Hiya Aimster

Hi everyone

Yes...I'm still alive. Been a tough week I suppose. Had some lower leg pain (tendonitis again?)...so I had to pass on my 6 mile run on Tuesday. Can't risk the injury pattern I got in last year so although it was tough I bailed on the 6 miler after one measly mile LOL. Anyway....I've done a lot of pilates this week which has worn me down a bit too. Just kind of a draggy week for me...weather was dreary and the aches and pains get me down a bit. I guess that's normal right :).

Anyway...I did get my 5 Mile run in today. I'm a little achey tonight but I think none the worse for wear.

Still got a few workouts planned and a long run of 8 miles on Sunday.

Hope everyone has a good weekend! :sunny:

Hi Amy

Hope everything turns out alright from the 5 miler today...kudos to you for knowing when to say when though....I know how tough that is to do, especially for someone as competitive and determined as you are.

Don't push yourself too much before these Sunday runs coming up...they are the most important part of Nov/Dec training ;)

But really...GREAT JOB balancing the running with the pilates, and juggling all of that with day to day life...don't know how you do it sometimes.

Have a great day...

Hey girl. GREAT job bailing on the run. Like you said - it's not worth going through what you did last year.

Just wanted to say a BIG thanks for your help and suggestions with my hip issues. You know your stuff, lady. :goodvibes

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this fall weather we're finally getting. :thumbsup2

Hi Amy,

I hope you are feeling better. We are cold and rainy here, so I am a bit achy too. Good luck with the long run tomorrow. Be careful.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Amy

Just wanted to pop in and wish you the best on the long run tomorrow. Hopefully the rain that Jersey appears to be receiving will clear up tonight. Looks like it's gonna be cold though...be sure to bundle up :)

Have a good weekend!

Hey Amy! Sorry to hear about the leg pain, but good job on taking it easy with the running. I know how hard it is to stop sometimes, so you should be proud of yourself for not pushing it. That is so awesome about your pilates.....I bet you are an awesome teacher!! I also know the feeling about not being able to say no when people ask me to do things...ugh...I need to get better at that!

I hope your 8 miler went well today!! IT was really great weather for running this morning, a little windy but not too bad!!

Hi Amy,
Oh I hear you about the lower leg pain,my lower calves(achilles and above) are as tight as can be. Do you think it could be my sneakers? I would have thought that it would have been getting better not worse if it was a stretching issue.

Hope to hear from you soon, take it easy- is that possible?

Linda

Hi Amy! Just checking in to see how your long run went over the weekend!

All hope is well w/ you!!!

Hello all!!! Wow....been so busy lol.

The long run went well this weekend. I did another pull back...8 miles with a really solid pace. FORGOT my watch...Ipod died halfway thru lol....so I was sans technology for the most part. But I kept track of my time w/ the handy dandy cell phone so I managed to at least know my overall time :). Was a great fall day for running!!!

As for earlier in the week I didn't get as much running in as I hoped due to lower leg pain. Seems to be all healed up now :goodvibes so I'm starting this week off right. Did a 5 miler this afternoon!

Last Week's Totals:

Running: 17 Miles
Walking: 3 Miles
Cardio XT: 75 minutes
Pilates: 330 minutes
Taught: 8 classes

Busy week for sure...but I fell short of goals a bit. This week hopefully I'll be on track :).

Thanks for stopping by! Building those miles back up slowly. Planned long run on Sunday is 10 miles :).

Have a great week everyone! :sunny:
