The Fear of Harry Potter

I am praying for Harry Potter to be open in June. Yet, I read in an article that IOA is supposed to fill to capacity within the first 30 days of opening. I don't want to go there and have huge waits on every other ride on top of Harry Potter! Does anyone else feel this way.

:confused3

I would strongly suggest going before WWoHP (if you don't care about HP) opens as I really believe you won't be able to get in there for quite while afterwards. HP is expected to draw HUGE crowds for a long time so it's definately going to make a difference. The Orange County Visitor's Bureau is counting on WWoHP bringing in millions of people and dollars...which I think will be no problem. I have a feeling my time at Universal will be cut down mainly because I won't want to wait in those LONG lines either.

If you have FOTL access (staying onsite), how do you feel about the first 30 days. Our trip is scheduled July 16-25 and that MIGHT be the first 30 days or very soon after it.

Speculation, do you think anything in WWoHP will have the FOTL option?

Going by the Rockit experience, I would not expect FOTL on the new ride (HP & the Forbidden Journey or whatever) for quite a while. I tend to think it will be left alone on the refurbed Dragons and Hippogriff rides--I think there would be heavy complaints from hotel guests and weak sales if nothing in the new land has FOTL.

Thanks....this will be our first visit to Universal and I'm so excited to go.

If park goes to capacity I will be very interested to see the wait time for FOTL access on rides. I could possibly see some going over an hr idkt it may be rly crazy.

That's a very good point and I would expect something like that for the first month at least. I agree the coasters will probably offer it as usual but not much else at the start.

Does anyone know where to find the "peak" seasons for Universal?
Are they the same as Disney Worlds?

I'd like to visit Harry Potter Land during "off" times if possible.

They are about the same as Disney's but with the popularity of Harry Potter, it's anyone's guess. If you stick with fall (mid September to early December) you will be going during a traditional slow period.

I am definitely planning to go in the middle of the week, like on a Wednesday, and getting there very early. I have waited long enough for Harry Potter and I'm sure I can wait in a line. I am fully expecting lines up to 3 hours, possibly longer. But I will persevere.

As far as other rides in the park, I think wait times will increase for them, but my prediction is you will see wait times closer to busier times in the park, but not anything close to Wizarding World.
