The Fantasy's First MNSSH Cruise: Zombies of the Caribbean October 27, 2012

I am almost ready to give up on finishing up 10 posts... :rolleyes1

I apologies to others who are wondering why is this crazy woman keep posting to the group... answer, Gracie need 10 posts to pm the the person so that we can get ready to play in a few days!

Another question: For the parents with school age kiddies, how did you break it to the teacher that you are taking the child out of school. I am doing to it tomorrow and hope to get all the homework assigned so that I can take it with us to the cruise. How do you handle this? Our child is in 1st Grade.

Welcome! I've never had a problem with school, but that could be because we've been doing this since 1999(same time every year) and the school knows about it. Our schools have a couple days off the end of October for teacher conventions so it is a few less days out of school. My teachers always give some homework. My oldest is a senior (he doesn't join us anymore) but he went until he was in 7th grade. My middle one is in 3rd now. She hasn't had a problem keeping up while gone.

Thank you so much for all the welcomes. :cool1: and answering all my never-ending questions. I can't wait to get started on the vacation!

I am looking forward to meeting you all on FB and on the cruise. Hubby finally did the online checkin and :crazy2: the earlier checkin time is already at 2 pm. BLAH!!!! I was hoping to get on early and take a dip at the pool.

We are only Silver status with the cruise, do you think there's any other way to get on the ship earlier?

So much to do still... :dance3:

Ok anyone else been watching the weather for our cruise? There is a tropical depression brewing and looks like it is headed toward Port Canaveral side of Florida either Friday or Saturday. How does Disney handle theses sort of things?

I've been seeing great weather for our whole cruise as well. It's bad this week but cleared up by the time we leave. Even if its raining, the cruise continues. The Captain steers clear of the storms. We missed Castaway Cay our first cruise because he couldn't dock. We went to Nassau instead. Both the Wonder and Magic were there :)

Hi all we are getting really close now, and so I'm able to print off the map and magnets for the scavenger hunt can I just check who is participating and that I have the correct number of people and cabin number. PM me or leave a message here or facebook to confirm please. :) :)

Just in case you didn't see my other post our room has changed from 8668 to 5650.:)

Yay!!! Post No. 10!!!

What do your child like better? Oceaneer Club, or Oceaneer Lab? I just realized that they have a animator studio in there!!!! That was one of our favourite thing to do at DW!!!! I guess only she gets to do that on the cruise..

I have a 7 year old daughter. She liked the club, but I think we will be checking out the Lab more this trip. The are open inside and the kids can move between both the club and the lab.

They say that open boarding starts around 12:30 so you can board regardless of #. That is what we did last time and walked straight onto the ship

Has anyone stayed at WDW before the cruise arranged their own transportation? We have always used the DCL transfers to get from our resort to port & get there mid afternoon. I've been reading up on these boards that people rent cars/limos & other ways to get to the port earlier than Disney gets you there. We are set for this year, just wondering for next year if I am better off doing some other type of transport to get to the port prior to 2ish.

We've used Omega Transportation. Nice people. They'll send you a quote and you don't have to pay till they've completed the trip. They accommodated three families with 12 people and all our luggage. Great!

Whoo hoo. Our ta contacted us and asked us if we were dvc members BC Disney is offering a discount to members. Even though we had already booked we qualified for the discount and will be up grading to a 5e room from 8b and will get a $504 refund. Our room number will change but don't know yet BC it is gty.

Really? Do you know what kind of discount or promotion it was? I am a DVC member - I'd love to call & try to take advantage of any kind of upgrade or discount.

I called DVC & DCL - bummed to find out the offer is only good for DVC if you paid cash for your entire fare. We paid with points & cash. I'm becoming more & more displeased with DVC. I can get a better deal to pay cash for my cruising, and that is what we primarily bought it for was cruising.

I feel the same way!
