What is it exactly and do we have to pay extra for it? I was told its offered to you when you go and check in at your hotel and I'm just curious, cos I'd hate to say yes and then be dissapointed!:confused3

Hi,

If you are staying at either the Santa Fe, Cheyenne, Newport Bay, or Sequoia Lodge, it may be possible to get breakfast in the park (in Fantasyland) instead of at your hotel. You don't pay extra for this.

Its not guaranteed however, its first come first served. You should ask when you check into your hotel. We have had GMF before, but this latest trip, this week, we couldn't get any at all. If you can, I think its definitely worth doing. It means you get into Fantasyland (especially if theres no morning EMH) before everyone else, so you get a jump on the queues for the rides there. The food is similar to what you get at your hotel, but I found it to be less chaotic at the GMF breakfast.

I've read in another thead that they don't have GMF anymore because they have EMH every morning at the moment!!!

It still seems to be down to availability princess -

We could have had GMF (we were staying at the Cheyenne) if we'd been staying on Friday 23rd November. Others staying at the Sequoia Lodge this past week were lucky enough to get GMF when they checked into their rooms.

Also, I believe morning EMH is on each morning in December, but it certainly isn't this month (November). It was only on Wednesday during our stay this past week.

Well, other people on this board have been told by CM's that when they start the EMH every morning, which they will in Dec, they are not offering GMF for people who haven't booked it all ready. That's what I've heard, sorry if I'm wrong!

I wonder if its maybe something they are trialling for morning EMH then in December?

There was morning EMH every morning in October too, and we had GMF breakfasts each morning we were there then (but, we were able to book those in advance).

we had the GMF breakfast last week and it was rubbish, we had the usual small bread rolls with butter or jam there was no meats or cheeses, cereal with no milk to go with it no there was juice coffe and tea, the place was swarming with birds and the whole place looked like it had bean cleaned in mon. i dont know whether this was due to having a breakfat at 10 am but i would never go back for this again

Someone had been told that it was ending on the 19th November but there were signs up advertising the GMF at Sequoia Lodge last weekend, although we didn't bother but another family from our tour, staying at the Cheyenne had taken breakfast in the park both Saturday and Sunday, so there is obviously some mixed info, coming out of DLRP at the moment. :confused3

We (booked a trip beginning of March 2008) were told they do not Fantasyland Breakfast anymore :sad1: ... We have a reservation for Santa Fe. So I'm wondering if they really do for the Cheyenne guests :confused3 ...

Hi

When i left this morning, i saw a sign for the GMF breakfast at the front of the queing systems at the Sequoia Lodge. When we booked our trip we were told that they were doing these anymore. I suggest you ask about them when you arrive at the hotel and see what they say. Have to say we had them the last two years we have been and really enjoyed them.

Incidently if you are staying at the Cheyenne or Santa Fe it's worth noting that the GMF is a kind of breakfast upgrade too, it's supposed to be the equivalent of Sequoia Lodge breakfast, so in addition to your croissants, petit pains, etc, you have fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, apparently the fruit salad at Cheyenne was tinned last weekend and there weren't any yoghurts so I was told. :confused3

Thanks for that tip Jill, we are staying at the cheyenne and knowing she can get fresh fruit salad and yogurt for breakfast may just tempt my mum into asking about the fantasyland breakfast when we arrive!:thumbsup2

I agree that, in my opinion, GMF breakfast is nicer than the Santa Fe or the Cheyenne. The cereals, breads, croissant, brioche, spreads, cheeses and drinks are all exactly the same. However, there is only plain yoghurt at the Cheyenne, whereas there are various individual flavoured ones at GMF, and yes, the fruit salad is tinned at the Santa Fe and the Cheyenne. There is also more choice on the cold meats that are available at the GMF.

I do prefer GMF to breakfast in the hotel. Having said that, we were up anyway for the earliest slot at breakfast this past week, and it was absolutley fine, as the restaurant at the Cheyenne was not busy at all then, until about 7.45.
