The faceless children take a top-secret trip to WDW...

Don't forget to figure Fantasmic into your DHS day plans. I don't know if you want to do Fantasmic but if you don't, go to DHS on a non-Fantasmic day. The crowds will be way less crowded-way less crowded!

Morning EMH attract the crowds, so if you can hold off and go to AK that day instead--it will be quiet I bet. You know your family best--do what you think is going to be the best situation for your family. :thumbsup2

DH says this as well. Is it true for all parks though, or just DHS? DH seems to think it's worse at DHS.

dropping by to see if you have let the cat out of the bag yet:lmao:
I think I agree with the poster ahead of me about AK..it will probably be really empty that day

Haha, not yet...soon!

I definitely would not have thought of this. Thanks for the tip!

Alright, so down to business with Pop Century. Here's my handy dandy map:

popmap.gif

Now, I've never had a request for a section actually honored, so you'll have to excuse me if I don't put too much time and energy into my requests. ;) But I continue to make them anyway.

I'm thinking that I want to be in the purple circle below:

popmap-1.gif

because it's about equadistant from the playground and the pop jets. I'm very excited about the pop jets. In 2008 we stayed in the Herbie section of ASMovies, and they kind of had pop jets there. DS loved them!

I'm not sure how I feel about staying near the main pool though, I always like having one of those "extra" pools off to the side at a hotel. On our honeymoon we stayed near the red X in the 90's on that map up there, and that was really nice. It seems like a bad location, but it was actually great, we just cut through the parking lot to get to the busses. So, I'm not sure. I thought about maybe somewhere in the 50's? DS was very excited seeing a bowling pin. Ideas?

Does anyone know how early the pool opens? I'm not sure when we're going to go swimming, but I'm convinced that we're going to, at least once! I feel like the most hotel time we're going to get is in the morning, but I remember that at ASMovies, they were always cleaning the pool in the morning. Maybe we'll go back to the hotel to swim a day or two.

Also...debating what I can get for DS in his refillable mug. He doesn't drink pop (I'm glad, I wouldn't want him to and luckily he doesn't like it!)...mostly he drinks water or soymilk, but hey, this is vacation. Maybe hot cocoa? Is there anything else here? I seem to remember that Pop had more options on their drink bar thing than the others, but I can't find it anywhere.

Finally, are there other room requests I should be thinking of? I'll need bedrails for the beds. Both of them, probably, so we can each sleep with one kid if need be (They'll probably both sleep with me, let's be honest. :lovestruc I'm happy to be a co-sleeper. DH is happy to be a co-sleeper, but he'll be even happier to be able to spread out on his own bed! :lmao:)

I don't think I have a floor preference. We had a ground floor at ASMovies, and it was nice, but probably not necessary. Although, maybe we should request it, with the double stroller and all it would be nice to just roll inside our room. Hmm...it's too early for all this thinking! :surfweb:

Alright, enlighten me. What else should I be considering?

I can't think of anything else to ask for- seems like you've got it covered. :thumbsup2

My kids love those pop jets too- they have them at a zoo near us (a yucky zoo that I won't ever go back to but I digress) and we were in near meltdown mode in the mid-afternoon heat and they saved us! It was all smiles after two minutes playing in them. :)

Ok, WHAT CAT do you have in a bag?!?!?! Curiosity is killing it!

Those pics are adorable! :lovestruc We were co-sleepers too, for MANY years. I think requesting the bed rails should be first priority b/c you can't move the beds at all at Pop to push them against a wall or anything. (I do remember something about being able to do this at one of the other value's).

Your location looks great! We were in the 80s building and it was a bit of a trek to the food court, but we cut across the parking lot to the buses too, so at least we were close to those! :)

I'm not sure about what is offered in refillables b/c I have soda drinkers when we are on vacation, so I didn't look! Juice maybe? Maybe someone can confirm this.

Thanks for posting your map!It reminded me that I wanted to call and put in a room request!

Really, I'm terrified of my kids drowning, so pop jets are a nervous mama's best friend! I was way overqualified as a swimmer (I passed all the lifeguard tests at swim lessons when I was like, 10) so I'm convinced everyone else is going to just sink. DH taught himself to swim at his apartment complex as a child and just keeps telling me "I AM NOT GOING TO DROWN" whenever I get panicky haha. I am looking forward to the kids playing in the fountains at Epcot and stuff though!

Oh, I know. This weekend, I swear! There was too much warm weather this week for me to sit down and properly dis! ;) I will un-be a slacker this weekend when I can shove the kids off on DH. I mean, ask him nicely to watch them. You get my :worship: for doing this alone most of the time.

Yeah, without bedrails we'll just have to wear them out at the parks and then recline the stroller seats. :rotfl2: Yeah, that maybe would work for J.J., but Sydney opens her eyes every 5 minutes to make sure I'm still 2 inches away from her. If not, she will not be a happy girl. Don't want to make those other hotel guests angry!

Cute side note (and what kind of pre-trip-reporter would I be if I didn't take AMPLE time for side notes, really?) when J.J. gets tired he gets extra affectionate. You can tell he's tired when he tells you, "I just want you to hold me" or he starts saying, "I love you Mommy." out of nowhere Sometimes he pets the baby and says she's "the best baby sister in the whole world"! Don't ask him if he wants more babies though, because he is fiercely anti-more siblings. Strangest thing ever because he has completely and totally loved Sydney from day one. He's crazy about her! Once while he was being all affectionate to Sydney I asked him if he wanted two baby sisters and he sat up, looked me square in the eye and said, "NO. JUST ONE." :lmao: Good thing for him I'm hoping for a BIG age gap between Sydney and the third. He'll be over this by the time he's like, 10...right? Maybe? :confused3

Close to the busses is first priority. Close to re-fillable pop is a close second.

Yeah, from a health perspective I'm glad he doesn't like pop. From a "what is he going to drink" perspective, I'm not too sure. I think they make shelf-stable soymilk juice boxes. Maybe. I know they do rice milk, and he'll drink that just fine too, so we can always pack them or ship them to ourselves if need be.

see above!

Thanks for posting your map!It reminded me that I wanted to call and put in a room request!

Definitely put in your request! Can't hurt to ask, right?

I've seen those shelf stable soy milk boxes so I know they have them, not sure how hard they are to find but I know Silk is the brand I saw. HTH!

I hope you get the area in Pop you would like! We put in couple requests which I really hope are honored because they are due to medical reasons.:confused3

Can he drink lemonade? I thought they had lemonade available too.

Mmm...we love Silk, I hope I can find them!

We had medical requests last time (special cleaning and laundering due to allergies) and those were all honored, no problem. So I'm sure you'll be fine on that.

I'm not sure he's ever had lemonade (haha, mostly he gets water and milk...very rarely some orange juice or something) but I bet he would drink it at least enough for him to be happy on vacation. I forgot about lemonade! That or iced tea are pretty normal on the "beverage station" or whatever they're called. Thanks for the reminder!

you are talking about finding shelf stable Silk before going, right? I have never seen those. I did have a little issue at Pop on our first trip b/c I had to buy a small bottle of silk (from the fridge area) and keep it in the ice bucket so I could have something for me coffee each morning. There was no soy milk available other than that. This time we will have a fridge in the family suite which will really help and we are driving (boo) so we can stop and get some milk for the kids and soy milk for me before arriving.

I remember now that I saw them at Wal-mart back near the breakfast foods- like where the carnation instant breakfast things are maybe. It was a couple of years ago so I can't quite remember.

Gabby does not really drink soda either mostly water and sometimes juice.. So I am not sure if I am going to get the mug either

Hmm...you would really think they would start offering soymilk at the parks...it's really common for people to drink now!

I'll check it out, thanks! I should have looked at our supermarket yesterday, they have a HUGE natural section...I thought I was going to be impressed by whole foods when I got to one in California, but they didn't have much more than what they have at Wegmans (our supermarket) here. But if they don't have it, I'll have to check out the Walmart supercenter...now I'm curious so I'll be scouting out milk 6 months out!

Well, if we do get the quick service free dining, the mug comes free, so I will come up with something he'll drink! But no, I don't think I would invest in one for him either if I had to buy it, because it just wouldn't be worth it.

Alright, since the baby decided she was going to get up at 4 am this morning (well, 5 am because of the time change but that's really a small consolation prize) she's passed out on me right now so I have time to post! :thumbsup2

Now, for the big reveal I'm sure you've all been waiting for...

OUR MNSSHP COSTUMES! (Well, we don't own them yet...only parts of them, but we have time...:rotfl:)

So, after all those costume ideas, what we came up with was....

ellensenergyadventure.jpg

ELLEN'S ENERGY ADVENTURE

I will be Ellen, DH will be Bill Nye, and the babies are going to be dinosaurs! :lmao: Do you think anyone will get it? Even if they don't, we'll just enjoy it ourselves...we're losers like that!

DH already bought his lab coat.

I can't wait to get out some good old 90's style denim button up shirts! :rotfl2: And I need an Ellen wig! Maybe she sells some on her show website...I should jump over there and see what she has!

And we found the perfect dino costume for Sydney. Although for that price, she'll have no choice but to be that for halloween too! Maybe for the next two years. I always make halloween costumes for a reason, I'm cheap! DH thought that maybe she could be a giant bug, like a butterfly or something since they had giant bugs back in the dino age, but I thought that if people didn't get what we were already, that would make it impossible for them to get. I bet I could find a giant butterfly costume for cheaper, but that pink dino is pretty darn cute!

We're going to let J.J. pick out his own dinosaur costume.

After it's all over, DH wants to send our picture into the Ellen show.

So, what do you think? Was it worth the wait?

I have been enjoying your thread! :) I love the dresses. I think I could do it! I'm going to give it a try! Thanks for sharing the instructions!

OMG I LOVE the costume idea!!! We are huge Ellen fans and I definately think you should email her your picture. :thumbsup2
