The FABIO Look (Long Hair) vs. The GQ Look (Short Hair) Ladies, which do you prefer?

I generally do not like long hair on guys. The cut doesn't have to be super short, but to the shoulders is too long for me. Facial hair is fine and I do like a bit of scruff. Clean shaven is good too but a BIG NO to a moustache only unless the guy is Tom Selleck.

My youngest brother has grown his hair out over the last few years and now it's down past his shoulders. My mother hated it at first and kept trying to get him to cut it, but now we are all used to it. The bad part is that now you can tell his hair is really thick and pretty - completely wasted on a boy!

Edit for a pic - he usually wears it pulled back in a bun (reminds me of a Samuri).

not real crazy about this kind of hair on a guy(JMHO), but I just have to say that is the cutest little baby.

I know! It's wasted on him! My hair is pathetically thin, but we have about the same hair color. He's thinking about getting a job at Disney so he'll have to cut it.

The only place I LIKE hair on a guy is on his head! I hate body hair and I am not a fan of short hair on guys--I like long hair--if not long then at least shaggy like.

For me it just depends on the guy. I rarley like guys with long hair but there have been a few. One guy cam in and I had to cut it off super short for his new job. He definitely was more handsome in long hair than short hair. (Swept that hair up and stuck it in an envelope and sent it to his mama! lol Said she'd be thrilled.)

Generally I'm more attracted to men with less hair than more hair. So, to all the men who are balding out there, some women like that.

I like guys with ear length hair, some hair but not too much. I can not stand past the ear, I do not know why, I think it just looks to femanine to me. While I do like some hair on a guy I am fine with very little hair too though.

It depends on the guy. Some look better with short hair, some better with long, but in general I prefer short hair, even back in the 80's. But then, I was into "alternative" rock and didn't like the style or the music of bands like Bon Jovi.

I was in high school in the late seventies/early 80's, when all the guys suddenly cut off their long sun-bleached hair. It was a surprise at first, since the style had been long for so long, but I soon preferred it and still do.

This was a bigger deal back in the 1980s. There were the girls that loved guys with long hair, ala Bon Jovi (Rock Star / Fabio look), and some girls that hated guys with long hair, because they thought they looked like bums/criminals/bikers, or whatever the particular reason the dislike was routed in. I had long hair in the 1980s and also remember being........I'll just say "picked on" by certain........I'll just say hard core southern type views (I won't use the term with neck in the end) that thought that if you had long hair you were gay or transgender (Not that there's anything wrong with that) and would hurl slurs in that regard towards you.

Ladies what I want to know, that in your ideal world what do you prefer? Would you prefer the Fabio look? Do you actually prefer the Fabio look but in real life actually have the GQ looking guy, because you think its more professional, more business, more adult? Do you have the Fabio guy and don't care what others may think? Or anywhere in between, would like to hear your thoughts and why.

I never thought Fabio was attractive. He actually is kinda creepy looking to me haha. I prefer men that look like Bruce Willis, Jason Statham. So I guess I love men with bald heads!

To me it really depends on the guy. Some look really good with long hair. Others look good with shorter hair, but still some hair. Some look best with military style buzz cuts and a precious few look best with shaved heads. A few even look good with various styles--but most seem to have one that really suits them.

But it is not really wasted on him--he seems to enjoy it and like it long. It would be wasted on a guy (or girl) who wears a buzz cut.
