Monday 18th February

We had breakfast booked for 7 am each morning. When we were there in October the 7 o’clock breakfasts were really quiet, but this time they were busy and there were queues building up as we left each morning – another sign of how busy the whole resort was this week. :crowded: We were at the Park by 8 but they didn’t open until 10 past 8. Shock – ten whole minutes wasted. We went to Peter Pan first and rode it twice, then Dtr went on a 3rd time. I love this ride, but have never ridden it during normal park hours as the queues are just silly. Pinocchio was also open and we went on that before heading for Buzz – I was the winner today.:cheer2: Husband and Dtr went on Space Mountain before we made our way back down Main Street. The weather was sunny again but not nearly as cold. Dtr mentioned that her face was cold and wondered if they did Disney balaclavas. We amused ourselves by imagining them with Mickey ears on, and then thinking what would happen if bank robbers started wearing Mickey balaclavas to hold up banks. Hmmmmm – maybe you had to be there.:rolleyes2
We went to the Studios so that Husband and Dtr could queue for Crush. They waited from about 9.50 and got on about 50 minutes later – and the queue time was up to 60 minutes then. Still it was very exhilarating and was Husband’s new favourite ride. In the meantime I had been shopping and had got FPs for TOT. The Studios is looking so much better now TOT is finished – the theming around it is superb. RnR Coaster was having technical trouble but there is still plenty to do there.

When Husband and Dtr joined me, we decided to queue for TOT through the normal queue as that was only 30 minutes. This was Husband’s first go and I think he felt a little apprehensive, I didn’t have to worry – I knew I would be chicken-exiting! The bell-hop was very spooky and after he had done his bit about keeping hands and arms inside etc etc, he stood by the door and said “if there are any other questions or things you need to know…….. it’s too late” and with that he slammed the door shut on them and off they went. I was waiting in the safety of the shop of course.
We had lunch in Restaurant en Coulisse and then went back for the FPs on TOT. This time we queued in a different part and we could hear faint voices coming through the pipework. A little girl was calling “Mama, where are you? ……… I can’t see you……I’m frightened” It was really eerie and more so for not being very loud – it was only audible if you stood under a certain bit of the pipe. Husband and Dtr were not seated next to each other this time. Husband was next to an attractive young Italian woman who was obviously very nervous. She spent the whole ride grabbing Husband’s leg. As he put it “the faster it went up and down, the harder she grabbed it” :rotfl2: She apologised when it finally stopped, but he didn’t look too put out by it.
Dtr went into Art of Animation next and learnt how to draw Mickey. :artist: Husband and I sat on a bench outside in the glorious sunshine and watched the world go back. Dtr finished just in time to watch the Cinema Parade (for the last time?).

We then went back to the hotel, stopping by the Lake for a while.

Dtr went swimming, Husband supervised and you can guess what I did (look at my new tag!) Before going back to the Park we all took off a layer of clothing as it had warmed up considerably. Husband changed his hat too.

We had just reached Central Plaza when we heard the music for the Character Express so waited to watch. It stopped just in front of us and Goofy got off and headed for Dtr as she was wearing her Goofy hat. He took her hand and danced and skipped around with her for a while, which thrilled her.

We walked onto Le Pays de Conte des Fees, but strangely Casey had a 45 minute wait, so we didn’t do that, but went to POTC instead, less than 5 minute wait. Indiana Jones was also a walk-on so Husband and Dtr did this twice. (It was exhilarating, as you might expect) You can tell that the number of visitors, though high during the middle of the day, had dropped considerably by this time. It was only BTM that still had big queues, so we bypassed that and went round on Phantom Manor twice (doing some research for the quiz). This was the view of BTM at dusk as we walked into PM.

We had to leave the Park on time as we had a meal booked, so we darted down an Arcade as Candleabration was going on. I will try to do a review of the Beaver Creek Tavern elsewhere – but it certainly filled us up, so much so that we didn’t have room for a drink at the Redwood Bar. We were all in bed by 9.30 watching Jurassic Park in French.
Something really silly that happened – when we got to our room I immediately stripped off trousers and boots, threw back the duvet and crawled into bed, intending to just have 5 minutes rest before tidying away my clothes. In the meantime Husband walked out of the bathroom and thought I was hiding under the bed! You can see what he means – the way the duvet landed on top of my clothes. We just had to take a photo of this.

Tomorrow – another glorious sunny day – Husband does something he has never done before in all our years of marriage.

My kids think I've gone mad (no comments please) - I'm sat here giggling firstly at the Italian woman and the knee grabbing and secondly at the picture of 'you' under the bed! Too funny!

Great report on day 2 and love the picture of your daughter dancing with Goofy.
