I have this report going on another Board.
I'm going to attempt to move it here as well.
Wish me luck!!!
Part 1 - History
Hi everyone
I'm a little nervous this is my first hand at writing any
type of report so go easy on me!
Our cast:
Me - Traci (38, b-day 6/6, will be 39) They call me "T" at home.
Kevin - (45) My go-with-the-flow husband of 7yrs.
Nova - Perky and wise 6yr old. "Monkey Girl" or "Boo"
My Mom - (62) Don't want to sound mean, but she is a bit of a ditz!
My Dad _ (66) loves science,& war shows. We call him "Molecules" behind his back, of course.
Let's start with a bit of WDW history. Back in 1980 when I was 11 yrs old. My Grandparents set up a little bus tour, overnight trip to MK for me and my parents. that's all that was there at that time. The resorts were the Contempary, and the Poly. I think that was it. We were visiting my Grandparents in Margate,FL. We lived in NY, and never heard of WDW. WOW! was I suprised, that first gaze of the castle blew my mind. It was a hot August day, Mom came down with heat exhaustion by 2pm or so. She was very sick.
So the 3 of us head to the hotel, which was off-site, and it was a very seedy Best Western. That's all I'll say about the hotel. Dad declared, were not leaving the room. Anyway, I spent a total of 1 late morning, & an early afternoon in MK. Yippie! What a tease that was. I vowed someday I would do some real time there.
Fast Forward to so-called adulthood.
I booked a 10 day trip for Oct of 2000 for me and hubby. Only problem was, hubby and I weren't getting along so well those days. We split up 1 week before the trip, Disney was compassionate and I got back most of my money.
Re-married, had a brat, and booked a 6 night trip for Feb of 2004. One problem though. DD came down with a horrible ear infection 1 week before the trip. She was 2yrs old, and needed to have tubes inserted. Trip was cancelled 2 days before we were supposed to leave. Got my money back with a doctors note & went to DLR for a week the day after her surgery.
That was fun, but not my dream.
Part 2 - It finally Happens!
Off to WDW April 2007! Yea, goes off without a hitch!
Except the room had bedbugs and our luggage never came after 3 calls down to the bell desk. Midnight, after I marched down to the front desk at POR the luggage beat me back to the room.
Well, I learned a bit from that trip. Like, as soon as you get off the Magical Express drop your bags at bells and EAT FIRST! Then check in. Its a long day of travel from Vegas. Sandwiches that I packed for the plane just didn't cut it.
All in all it was awesome! Kevin was quiet the day we left. Very quiet. 2 hours into the flight home he leans into me and says, when are we going back? I really hadn't thought about that. I didn't think he would want to spend the cash again for another trip. I came back with, how about Feb 2009? Never again in April, it was to humid for us desert rats.
I'm going to attempt to move it here as well.
