The Ever Evolving Disney Holiday- UPDATE: Had to cancel the trip.

oK, so I'm a little bummed that I can't purchase our MNSSHP until next friday when DH gets paid.

But they could be sold out by early October. Get your skates on.

I sent all my fellow travelers an email telling them about the tickets and prices and all. Now whether or not they take the hint, I do not know.

So are you, DH and the kids going to go anyway or is it dependant on whether everyone agrees to go?

19 people walking en masse dressed as dalmatians!?! We would be so cute, especially since there are so many of us, pretty close to 101, don't ya think?

Oh I think that's a FANTASTIC idea!!!!!!!! Absolutely doable and, as you say, comfortable too! And suits all age groups. Go for it!!

Thanks for stopping by and bringing goodies! I am an iced tea nut! I've been keeping up with your trippie too! It's so great! I'm using a lot of ! aren't I? To answer your question, I've never been with that many people, I'm HOPING everyone will kind of break up, but who knows? This is supposed to be a somewhat relaxed trip, no hurry to get anywhere, so if we wind up moving in a "herd" I don't mind! I'm hopping over to your TR now!

I stopped in at Home Depot and picked up my green Mickey Heads! I was so excited, I also let the kids pick out some other colors!

Also, I'm watching "Meet the Robinsons" this evening, more happy dancing!

Just a little update, not much really. We've decided to pay the kids in Disney Dollars this summer for chores and such. Cindy is about to lose a tooth and she said she hopes the Tooth Fairy brings her a Disney Dollar! So the "Tooth Fairy" made a run to the Disney Store to pick up a few after work! They have Dumbo on them I also picked up a cute shirt for 4.99, its light blue with a classic Minnie Mouse on it and it says, "America's Sweetheart since 1928". I know, I know I'm supposed to be saving money. But it was only 4.99 and I really need t-shirts! Really , I do!

Hi! I brought over some bread squares and spinach dip and fresh fruit. I made way too much tonight. I also have virgin frozen strawberry daquaris. Help yourself

I love the Disney Dollar idea and your purchases! It's better to buy them here for 4.99 than try there for $25!!!!!

Ok, so our trip is 5 long months away. Seeing as how I am a Disney Freak, whenever I need a little Disney Magic all I do is hop on line and read the DIS or visit many of the other various Mickey-filled websites out there or listen to DIS Radio on Live 365. Or I can look at last year's pics or update my passporter or, well, you get the point. But it is now that I have realized that the rest of my Holiday party does not do this.

The rest of the crew is not enchanted with WDW as I am and I have accepted this fact. HOWEVER, I feel it is my duty to keep them pumped up and excited as possible! So I've decided the easiest way to do this is with what I'm calling my "DISNEY E-MAIL CAMPAIGN". I have been e-mailing links to Disney stuff, I let them know when the MNSSHP tickets went on sale, and sent them all our ADR's. But right now I am enjoying sending them pics of the food from the (as some loyal readers refer to it) the "Food Porn" thread. I have personally gotten to page 365 of the 400+ pages!

I have started with pics from the Kona Cafe. That's the first restaurant we have ADR's for. I sent pics (with titles) of appetizers, entrees, then desserts! Wouldn't it be fun to open your e-mail and every once in a while get pics of something to look forward to? I am so smart! I also plan on sending pics of POP and FW. After that, who knows? Maybe rides or shows or something.

I know all this work will in no way be appreciated, however it is a BLAST to do and it keeps ME excited! And isn't that all that really matters?

First off let me say, IT IS NOT ME!!! My DH had that problem "fixed" a few years ago! But Cereal's wife if ecpecting #3! Ok, so she will be about 6months pregnant when we go. Yippee. One good thing is for her, she doesn't like big rides anyway - she gets motion sickness.

With this news I can't help but wonder if they will think of backing out of our holiday....... I will keep you posted!

First off I just have to say TOMMOROW IS MY BIRTHDAY! I WILL BE 30!!

Ok, that being said, I will continue. This is sadly hilarious. A lady at my church and her DH and their DD just left for a 2 week vacation, 7 of which they are staying at WDW at the Caribbean Beach Resort. Before they left I was talking to her about it and I not-so-casually mentioned that I had made ADR's for our trip in October. (ok, I acutally said "reservations") Anyway, she said, "Really? We don't have any. I told my husband that I wanted to try some new places though." So at this point I'm thinking, "oooh, not good". BUT WAIT, IT GETS BETTER!!


So later her DH walks up, and I start chatting him up about the trip. He asks for some suggestions on good restaurants to try. I tell him we love Crystal Palace and Boma. (I could go for a big bowl of carrot ginger soup right about now!) Anywho, he then asks, "So are we going to be able to eat anywhere with out reservations?" I try to be positive. I say, "Well, there are only 3 of you, and this time of year isn't that bad."

Then I say, "When you guys are watching fireworks, think of me! That's my favorite way to end the day!" To which he replies, "Oh, we won't be watching any fireworks. DD is scared to death of them." Are you kidding me? Are you freakin' kidding me? RANT ALERT !Buy the girl some earplugs! She's 7! I know they are frightening to many children, but you have to teach them not to be afraid at some point. Don't indulge their fears! Give her some earplugs or headphones and explain that, yes, they are loud. But they are pretty and they won't hurt you! OK, rant over!

I then remembered that last year they went to WDW and the DD wouldn't ride IASW because it looked dark.

Also the lady has some ear thing and can't ride many of the rides.

So between loud noises, rides that move, and rides that are dark, what in the World are they going to do? What a waste of money!

OH! And then I mentioned EPCOT and the husband said, "We aren't going to EPCOT, they don't want to go there."

What? Huh? What planet are you people from?
Did I mention the DD is a terribly picky eater, generally only yellowish things.

So with all that said, I hope they have a WONDERFUL vacation!

Hey, as I said on my thread, we are an unusual breed, us Disers. I hope your friends have a nice trip. I think Disney is worth it even if I only got to ride a few rides. I can't believe they are skipping Epcot though. Oh well, to each their own.

I am so EXCITED! I got my black mary jane crocs today!!(Now where's a croc smilie?) Now all I need are some Disney jibbitz to complete them! While at the store I noticed they were putting out the "patra" style, so I tried them on. I was in love! So I bought them too!

I put my mary janes into the Disney box (I'll explain in a minute) to wait for thier jibbitz.

I also went to the Disney Store to but the kids a couple things for WDW. I bought them each a t-shirt, the "tiki" ones, and a pair of sunglasses (3/$8). Cindy got one with Marie (from Aristocats) and some Minnie Mouse "tiki" sunglasses. Bean got a Jack Skellington, and some Bruce (Finding Nemo) glasses, and Ace got Mickey Mouse and POC glasses. They were excited! They admired them, tried on the glasses then tossed them in the box.


Ok, so the Disney Box is a box decorated with bags from the Disney Store. Inside is stuff for our Disney trip. ONLY new or special things! I told the kids no, "I want to take this pair of underwear, so I'm putting it in the box" kind of thing. I am happy to finally make a box and have things in it! ( I've been promising the kids for weeks!) I'll take a picture of it soon and post it for all to see! (Not that its that fabulous or anything, I'm not very crafty)
