The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

So many beautiful pictures of the castle! :thumbsup2 My favorite though is the one of you and Denny in front of it. Great pic of both of you!

Love, love, love all the castle pictures! Is there really such a thing as too many castle pictures?? :confused3

Great picture of you and Denny in front of the castle! :thumbsup2

Christine

Oh the pics at the parade with the kids are cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love that little minnie skirt

How neat that they were able to get instant FP's and good for you for making them GO!

Pretty castle pics, never ever too much! All I know is that water better be back in in May.

Yay! I was happy to check the DIS this morning and see an update from you, Mary Ellen.
I'd be interested in reading how your Tampa trip/stay at ASSp went. I talked up the Gulf coast enough that I hope you enjoyed it. :goodvibes

Oh, those pictures of the little ones dancing with Jessie are just too cute!
And instant FPs?! Man, lucky people.

You can never have too many castle pictures. I, for one, didn't mind seeing them. They made me imagine for a few seconds that I was relaxing with my feet up on the Peoplemover and was watching the castle go by. :goodvibes

Great update. I love POC and the People Mover. Sadly I think that will be down for refurb when I am there in May.

Instant FP's -very cool. Who can turn them down. I must be the only person who goes to Florida and doesn't go to the resort pool. I spend 2 1/2 months at the pool every summer - we belong to a swim club. That is all the pool time I need every year. Looking forward to hearing about it though.

I know most people love Food and Wine, but to me Epcot will always be Flower and Garden. It's been way too long since I've seen it.

Ahh Pirates is just classic Disney. And honestly, it still stands up technologically speaking today I think. I know they've updated it over the years, but still, it has always been really impressive.

MOVE IT SHAKE IT!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!! It's getting so I recognize all the performers now.

I say get all the castle photos you can. With the new pathways and whatnot being built, it's going to look different in the future I think.
And I always wonder why more people don't take advantage of the off to the side PP Castle photos. They feel more personal to me.

TR inside of a TR is good.

If I could just get organized enough to do just that. :rotfl2: No worries - I will.

My favorite ride, POTC. Nice pics.

Thanks. My favorite is the close of the dog. He looks more cute than mangy. :rotfl2:

Nice castle pics.

Thanks! I just love taking pictures of the castle. :thumbsup2

Monsters Laugh factory is fun.

We enjoyed it. But I still wanted Denny to be "that guy". :rotfl:

So relaxing to be on the people mover.

One of my favorite places to relax and it just screams Disney to me.

Crowds not bad.

They really weren't. The only time the crowds seemed bad was when we were in Epcot in the evenings. No shock there.

Great updates and pics.

Thanks!

Question, Did they keep the Shake Ît Parade, that music is loud, or am I getting old.

:welcome: OhMari! Thanks for joining in! :thumbsup2

We did an Empty Nest WDW trip too. It really helped us think about the changes that happened in our lives. I wanted to leave the day we dropped our dd off at college, but my dh wouldn't go to Florida in September, so we waited till November.

I think an empty nest trip is sort of a right of passage. I wanted to go away in September, too, but this trip in October had been planned for so long that I was not about to change it. It definitely worked out well.

One more thing-sorry about your cat. I never understood, till my kids thought I was lonely and got me a puppy. They are really a part of your lives.

Thanks! I really loved that cat. In fact, I was just looking at pictures of him from when he was healthy and he used to be so pretty. I still miss him but its definitely much easier.

I am enjoying your TR again. We usually go in April for my dh convention, but they moved it to February. At first I was bummed, but we had beautiful weather.

Thanks! I actually liked going at the end of February / early March just a few weeks ago. It was a great time to trace and definitely helped with the winter blues. October was perfect weather too. :goodvibes

That is very cool that she was gifted some instant FP's in every park!

So cute that the kids were having a great time with Jessie.

I'm glad you put every picture of the castle in your TR, because I love every single one of them as well!

Looking forward to reading about F&W!

Thanks for the visit to Magic Kingdom this morning. :thumbsup2 Our girls love 'Hey! Get up! Get loud! We're pumpin' up the party now!' :jumping1: It definitely did look like a beautiful day.

Great updates!

Very cute pictures in the Move It! Shake It! Our kids have always been too shy to dance with the CMs and characters in the Move It! block party. I sort of gave up trying a couple of trips ago. :goodvibes

And we love The Laugh Floor!

People Mover is such a great way to get a rest off your feet and still enjoy Disney. :thumbsup2

:lmao: Good one!

Hey, how was your work trip to DL? Any chance on a TR?

I will, but not till I get home from our WDW trip. I am working on pictures now and getting it written up a bit on Word. I got 1 day written, so that is progress at least.

I love all your castle pictures and there is never too many so don't feel bad. You know how many pictures I post. :rotfl2:

It will be interesting to see the castle with no water around it.....I hadn't thought about that.

Sounds like you guys had a great time on your trip!
Pirates! Aww I love that ride. I tend to take predictable pictures too.
Instant FPs? Wow! Lucky ducks!
SO sad about the water around the castle being gone, I don't like change! I love all of the pictures you posted, especially around the castle :lovestruc
Aww the pics of the kids dancing with the parade are so cute!
That Peoplemover soft breeze feeling is the best, I could just ride around on that thing all day.

Nice update. I'm glad you had a great trip and that you are back to writing updates! We hit 99 days to go yesterday until our trip...double digits!

Instant FPs? Nice! Too bad you couldn't get in on it, haha!

The Laugh Floor is always a good time. Hopefully Denny will be that guy one day!

Nice updates! And beautiful pictures - never can have too many castle pictures, or of cute kids!

Glad you had a nice trip! We just got back yesterday from DL and I have decided I will do a TR for this one. I just have to decide what photo loading service to use - I had set up Flickr to do Alaska and that didn't happen. But I'd have to pay for Photobucket pro if I want to use PB.
Hope to start soon and will definitely send out the bat signal.

Wonderful update, Mary Ellen.

Thanks Kathy! :goodvibes

Who doesn't love Pirates? And I love that you take the same picture every time.

Seriously, who doesn't love Pirates. And the best part was that the kids loved it, too!

Hey, at least I am consistent on the pictures, right? But I missed the holographic at the beginning because I didn't switch settings fast enough.

Instant Fastpasses? Who could pass those up? That is awesome for them.

I know - how lucky were they? Especially with such a big group. They really lucked out.

I am very disappointed that the water is out of the moat around the Castle. It just doesn't feel right. They are making TOO many changes in my opinion.

Me too! It looks terrible. I saw something on the regular news when we were done there about the changes to the MK, but I was only half listening. I ten to agree with you that there is always something under construction. I would just like to visit once where there are no barriers up and no fake facades and, for goodness sake, no cranes!

Fun parade pictures.

Parade pictures are always made better by little kids!

And I love the photopass pictures of you and Denny, but I think Denny needed a pair of sunglasses.

Ya think? The funny thing is - Denny has multiple pairs of sunglasses but he usually can't find any of them! :rotfl2:

great updates! I love the pictures of the castle. They are putting the water back in, right? A castle has to have a moat!!!

Thanks and I certainly hope so. The castle looked less than stellar with the moat completely drain and three cranes situated in the empty moat. It was just so wrong!

Kids are too stinking cute.

Aren't they? I think they are so adorable and I loved that little Minnie dress!

Yay for instant fast passes! :thumbsup2

They were so fortunate to get those. I was really thrilled for them because it definitely added to the magic.

So many beautiful pictures of the castle! :thumbsup2 My favorite though is the one of you and Denny in front of it. Great pic of both of you!

Thanks Dawn! I'm do glad we stopped there for a PP picture. Now I have to look in my actual PP folder to see if that showed up on my card.

Love, love, love all the castle pictures! Is there really such a thing as too many castle pictures?? :confused3

Thanks and obviously I don't think so! I just absolutely love the castle and my camera is just drawn to it as a focal point - over and over again! :rotfl:

Great picture of you and Denny in front of the castle! :thumbsup2

Christine

Thanks! I'm glad we stopped there for a pic!

Oh the pics at the parade with the kids are cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love that little minnie skirt

Aren't they adorable. They were having such a great time. It was a pleasure to watch them! And they outfit was too cute!

How neat that they were able to get instant FP's and good for you for making them GO!

It totally threw me, but I knew they had limited time and they absolutely HAD to use them in the MK!

Pretty castle pics, never ever too much! All I know is that water better be back in in May.

Thanks! And -ugh - the castle looked so bad with the water drained and all those stinking cranes everywhere. There were three! I was so disappointed. :headache:

Yay! I was happy to check the DIS this morning and see an update from you, Mary Ellen.

It took me long enough, didn't it? :rotfl2: I try my best, but I am always so slow to get back up to speed after vacation.

I'd be interested in reading how your Tampa trip/stay at ASSp went. I talked up the Gulf coast enough that I hope you enjoyed it. :goodvibes

We arrived to ASSp fairly late - probably about 10:30 pm. We had a nice room location in the Hoops Hotel (request) and it took minutes to get to the main lobby. The only thing that struck me was that the room seemed SO small. I'm sure that's after staying exclusively DVC for the last several years. But the room was cute and the resort was super cute. It was perfect for the night.

I also loved our trip over to Tarpon Springs, but the traffic was much heavier than I anticipated. Anyway - I will def do a mini TR for my gulf coast adventures.

Oh, those pictures of the little ones dancing with Jessie are just too cute!
And instant FPs?! Man, lucky people.

Aren't they adorable. It really was precious.

Dare I say I was actually a little jealous about the instant FP's? :rotfl:

You can never have too many castle pictures. I, for one, didn't mind seeing them. They made me imagine for a few seconds that I was relaxing with my feet up on the Peoplemover and was watching the castle go by. :goodvibes

Peoplemover is just one of those perfect, fell good rides. I just love it and I was happy to be able to capture so many castles pics on such a perfect park day!

Great update. I love POC and the People Mover. Sadly I think that will be down for refurb when I am there in May.

Thanks!

And they are BOTH going to be down in May? Drat! I'll be there in May. Boo! Out of the two I will miss the PeopleMover most. I just love that ride!

Instant FP's -very cool. Who can turn them down.

I know, right? How lucky were they! I was just a tad jealous!

I must be the only person who goes to Florida and doesn't go to the resort pool. I spend 2 1/2 months at the pool every summer - we belong to a swim club. That is all the pool time I need every year. Looking forward to hearing about it though.

I'm just the opposite. I don't have access to a pool on a regular basis during the summer so I totally enjoy the resort pools. To me that's an important part of the trip. I love the relaxation and the chance to enjoy some down time and an adult beverage. Don't forget the adult beverage! :rotfl:

I know most people love Food and Wine, but to me Epcot will always be Flower and Garden. It's been way too long since I've seen it.

I think its interesting how F&G is turning to be more like F&W. The additions of the kiosks and now the passport. Disney is so smart at getting you to part with your money, but I do think having extra things to visit (and more foods to eat) adds an extra dimension to the whole F&G experience. It's really special!

Ahh Pirates is just classic Disney. And honestly, it still stands up technologically speaking today I think. I know they've updated it over the years, but still, it has always been really impressive.

I agree with that. It's got so much going for it - a water ride, holographics, animatronics. It's a great classic!

MOVE IT SHAKE IT!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!! It's getting so I recognize all the performers now.

I know you LOVE that parade. It is funny when you do start recognizing the performers!

I say get all the castle photos you can. With the new pathways and whatnot being built, it's going to look different in the future I think.

You should have seen it a few weeks ago - it looked so bad with all the water out of the moat. It was really sad!

And I always wonder why more people don't take advantage of the off to the side PP Castle photos. They feel more personal to me.

I have always loved that view. It's so unique and its because of the water and the reflection of the castle in the water during different times of the day!

I'm still here :) great update, the weather looked gorgeous, and you packed in some fun rides :) I love that Laugh Floor, I usually get a nice good belly laugh out of it :goodvibes

That is very cool that she was gifted some instant FP's in every park!

I know, right? It really pays to go to school with someone in Disney management who can authorize FP's. Super cool! :thumbsup2

So cute that the kids were having a great time with Jessie.

They really were and they were totally unfearful. I can't believe how great those kids were. Nothing seemed to shake them at all!

I'm glad you put every picture of the castle in your TR, because I love every single one of them as well!

Thanks! And you know that means even more coming from you! :goodvibes

Looking forward to reading about F&W!

Oh, there will be LOTS of F&W coming up!

Thanks for the visit to Magic Kingdom this morning. :thumbsup2 Our girls love 'Hey! Get up! Get loud! We're pumpin' up the party now!' :jumping1: It definitely did look like a beautiful day.

OMG! You know all the words! I'm so impressed. Not that they are that difficult but I never remember anything. :rotfl:

That parade was totally designed for little kids and big kids a like.

It was a gorgeous day! :good vibes

Great updates!

Thanks!

Very cute pictures in the Move It! Shake It! Our kids have always been too shy to dance with the CMs and characters in the Move It! block party. I sort of gave up trying a couple of trips ago. :goodvibes

Isn't it funny how some kids just get too shy. I was totally like that when I was a kid. Sometimes I think its a timing thing with kids. There are certain times when kids seem more open. That's what surprised so much about these kids - they weren't afraid of anything.

And we love The Laugh Floor!

That was a cute show. Definitely not for every trip, but definitely fun to see every so often.

People Mover is such a great way to get a rest off your feet and still enjoy Disney. :thumbsup2

I totally agree. I love the People Mover. It's so much fun to see all the great Tomorrowland sites and to relax all at the same time!

I will, but not till I get home from our WDW trip. I am working on pictures now and getting it written up a bit on Word. I got 1 day written, so that is progress at least.

That is definitely progress. I am really looking forward to hearing about your DL trip and seeing your pictures. But I guess I can wait until you get back from your next WDW trip. I'll be patient. :rotfl:

I love all your castle pictures and there is never too many so don't feel bad. You know how many pictures I post. :rotfl2:

Well, we do have that in common! :rotfl2: I looked at those pictures and thought "I don't know which I like best, so I'm posting them all." So there! ::yes::

It will be interesting to see the castle with no water around it.....I hadn't thought about that.

It looks ugly IMHO. It's not like it was bright crystal blue water, but it did add a certain something that is now sadly missing.

Great update! You can never have too many castle pics.

How many days in the past year, year in a half, have you spent at WDW? :cloud9:
