The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

I love the strategic placement of you guys in the back row on Splash. We'll done. I hate being soggy too if it is not a hot sunny day.

I've not seen the Dapper Dan's in their fall wardrobe. That is great to see the seasonal change.

That was a very nice touch to have the candlelit lunch. Denny's chicken Bianca pizza looks pretty tasty! It looks like a very nice lunch experience.

And there's Kristy!! I remember reading about your Dismeet in her TR! :) Your timing in looking for her was perfect.

Your lunch at Tony's looks great! I think with the TIW card, ts is really the way to go. I know last month we had a cs lunch and it cost almost as must as our lunch (with alcohol and dessert to share) at Via Napoli. I was

I had to laugh at your pics of splash. Those people at the back did NOT look happy.

:cool1: on the impromptu dis meet.

I have been curious about the sorcerers game. My boys have always loved card games. I think they are a tad old for it now... but I had kinda hoped the one who came with us last month would have tried it.

great pics as always! :thumbsup2

Hi Mary Ellen! I'm all caught up now. You are getting a lot in on your first day! Nice to be there at a time for short lines. Or maybe it's just that they are all in line for BOG:rotfl2: Okay, I laughed at the lady in the red jacket on Splash, and then there YOU were doing the same thing! Of course it's perfectly sensible when someone you know is trying to stay dry. :lmao:

Fun update, MEK. I'm glad you got to try the Sorcerer's game. Mark wants to give it a whirl in September.

I'm not a fan of that parade either....but every once in awhile we stop because it is colorful.

Love the Dapper Dan's in their fall outfits.

I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch at Tony's. I wasn't a fan, but I think it is because of what I ordered. Next time, I will order differently.

Mark hates Splash Mountain because he always gets wet and I won't let him wear a poncho. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:cool1::cool1::cool1: another DIS meet.

Can't wait to read more.

I can't blame you for sitting in the back of Splash and trying to avoid getting soaked. I know that's part of the appeal of the ride for some, but walking around the park in wet clothes just doesn't sounds like fun to me. :lmao:

Exactly! I am not a big fan of being wet OR of having frizzy hair! Boo! :rotfl:

It's great that you were able to have a DISmeet with khertz! Sounds crazy, but it was kind of cool for me to read both of you talk about meeting each other, since I've been reading both of your TRs for awhile now.

I'm glad Kristy found me. She apparently pays attention to her environment! She spotted me in a nano-second. I'm certain I would have walked right by her. :rotfl:

I've heard mixed reviews about Tony's, but the fries and Denny's entree look pretty good. Definitely worth a try there, I'd say.

They were both very good. I know you aren't a fish fan so you probably wouldn't have loved the salmon! :rotfl:

I love the strategic placement of you guys in the back row on Splash. We'll done. I hate being soggy too if it is not a hot sunny day.

Exactly. If it is hot I really don't mind because you don't get that soaked, but on a so-so day I preferred to stay dry. Thank you very much!

I've not seen the Dapper Dan's in their fall wardrobe. That is great to see the seasonal change.

Aren't they great? I just loved the colors. So perfect for Halloween.

That was a very nice touch to have the candlelit lunch. Denny's chicken Bianca pizza looks pretty tasty! It looks like a very nice lunch experience.

It takes nothing for them to bring out the candle, so its a great gesture. The food and experience were good. I would definitely go back for lunch.

IAnd there's Kristy!! I remember reading about your Dismeet in her TR! :) Your timing in looking for her was perfect.

It was so crazy. I literally just finished thinking about her and there she was. The timing could not have been more perfect.

Your lunch at Tony's looks great! I think with the TIW card, ts is really the way to go. I know last month we had a cs lunch and it cost almost as must as our lunch (with alcohol and dessert to share) at Via Napoli. I was

It was a lovely lunch. I really enjoyed it. And I agree on the TIW card. There are many restaurants on property that offer a reasonable lunch in comparison to QS prices. I'll take a sit down whenever I can!

I had to laugh at your pics of splash. Those people at the back did NOT look happy.

That man looks just so irritated. :rotfl2: I kind of feel sorry for him! :rotfl:

:cool1: on the impromptu dis meet.

I was really psyched to run into (literally) Kristy. It was great to meet her.

I have been curious about the sorcerers game. My boys have always loved card games. I think they are a tad old for it now... but I had kinda hoped the one who came with us last month would have tried it.

It's a cute game and I don't think you have to be a kid to try it. But I guess there are probably certain age groups that wouldn't love it. I really enjoyed it. More because it allowed me to see things I normally miss.

great pics as always! :thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes

Hi Mary Ellen! I'm all caught up now. You are getting a lot in on your first day! Nice to be there at a time for short lines. Or maybe it's just that they are all in line for BOG:rotfl2:

Yay for getting caught up! :thumbsup2

The lines were really reasonable and probably the longest line we did see was the line for BOG. :rotfl2: You're so right about that!

Okay, I laughed at the lady in the red jacket on Splash, and then there YOU were doing the same thing! Of course it's perfectly sensible when someone you know is trying to stay dry. :lmao:

You bet I was! But somehow it is funnier in a close up! I laughed more at the man beside her who looked totally grumpy like he would rather be anywhere else. :rotfl2:

Fun update, MEK. I'm glad you got to try the Sorcerer's game. Mark wants to give it a whirl in September.

It's really cute. I think he will like it and I know HE won't go hide whenever there are kids in line! :rotfl2:

I'm not a fan of that parade either....but every once in awhile we stop because it is colorful.

It's very colorful and the song is kind-of cute. Spoiler alert: We watched it again the next day when we were there with Denny's family and the little kids LOVED it! It was so cute watching them.

Love the Dapper Dan's in their fall outfits.

Those outfits are too cool. I loved them! they looked great!

I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch at Tony's. I wasn't a fan, but I think it is because of what I ordered. Next time, I will order differently.

I do think it really depends on your entree. I have had good and bad there. I do think the flatbreads are a safe choice. Denny's was really good!

Mark hates Splash Mountain because he always gets wet and I won't let him wear a poncho. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl2: Too funny! Mark will give up his man card for a poncho! I love that! :thumbsup2

:cool1::cool1::cool1: another DIS meet.

It was great to meet Kristy. She, her husband, and son are so cute! I really enjoyed meeting them!

Can't wait to read more.

You are not going to believe this, but I have already started walking on my next update! :faint: That's a first!

I haven't tried the Sorcerers game yet I think maybe I'll give it a go in September,I think Hailey would like that!

Ahh looking at your pictures of Main Street in its fall colors and decorations takes me back to last October. Warm. Sunny. Not a snowflake in the air. Can you tell I'm starting to get a bit of cabin fever from all of the winter weather we've had so far?

We haven't tried Tony's yet but the pictures of your dishes look very appetizing! May have to consider that for our Halloween trip as a dinner before MNSSHP.

It was a lovely lunch. I really enjoyed it. And I agree on the TIW card. There are many restaurants on property that offer a reasonable lunch in comparison to QS prices. I'll take a sit down whenever I can!

It really surprised me. I am not sure why either. I have always taken note when on the dp to how much those QS meals add up to....

That man looks just so irritated. :rotfl2: I kind of feel sorry for him! :rotfl:

They booth look like they will NEVER do that again. :rotfl:

I was really psyched to run into (literally) Kristy. It was great to meet her.

It is so fun to unexpectedly run into people. It happened often enough on the fall trip I took...yet not a single time did it happen in January.:(

It's a cute game and I don't think you have to be a kid to try it. But I guess there are probably certain age groups that wouldn't love it. I really enjoyed it. More because it allowed me to see things I normally miss.

I thought about when I made my comment it might sound like I was saying it wasn't for adults. I am sorry if it seemed like that. I was thinking how when kids get "too old" they think they are "too cool" for things. My youngest son is definitely in the "too cool for kid things" stage.

Tony's a DIS meet, splash and Socerers. Nice!!

I like the game- it is cute I just wish I would have some strategy to it. Not much mind you, don't want to have to think too hard. :lmao:

I think there is a way to set it on easy med. or hard but not sure if mine is linked that way.

Have not eaten at Tony's yet.

Your splash picture is hilarious. I understand frizzy- I am frizzy everyday so I just don't fight it anymore. :rotfl2:

I was initially entranced with the magic of our bands, I'm not going to lie. Now that the initial newness is gone, I'll think more wisely about the switching component.

Wow, you were really racking up the DIS meets! Score!

Sorcerer's is on my agenda on an upcoming trip. I just get so distracted by....OH BRIGHT AND SHINY! :rotfl2:

I enjoy Tony's. It's not my favorite restaurant, but I've always found it enjoyable every time we've gone.

OMG, love love love that redneck ride photo. :lmao::lmao: How funny!!

Yay, our DIS meet!! It really was a mashup of perfect timing. Had Move It Shake It not been happening and we hadn't stopped to watch it, and y'all going to look at Sorcerers and peeking in the Barber Shop to be coming down that same side of Main Street, we probably would have just missed each other!! So great to see you & Denny. :goodvibes Too bad our May dates don't line up, but there are plenty of Disney trips in store for both of us, I'm sure!

The thing I love about your photography is how you don't just take pictures of the full buildings or landscapes, you zoom in on those details that I'm sure a lot of people don't even notice! And these updates definitely showcased that. :thumbsup2 Main Street, especially in the fall, is ripe with them!

Surrrrreeee you road Splash Mountain. Sure you did. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Tony's seems to be one of those places people either hate or...think it's not so bad. I fall into the latter camp.

Glad you enjoyed Sorcerers. My kids really enjoyed it, and liked the card-collecting aspect of it. I will admit, it did seem silly to watch my kids wait while 40-year-olds played the game ahead of them, but then again, Disney is for the kid in all of us.

I haven't tried the Sorcerers game yet I think maybe I'll give it a go in September,I think Hailey would like that!

It's a really cute game. I think you both should try it and I hope you both enjoy it as much as I did!

Ahh looking at your pictures of Main Street in its fall colors and decorations takes me back to last October. Warm. Sunny. Not a snowflake in the air. Can you tell I'm starting to get a bit of cabin fever from all of the winter weather we've had so far?

Yes. I can tell, but I think there are a lot of us in the same boat. :rotfl: When I look as those pictures I start to wonder if I will ever wear shorts again or if I can ever go without gloves again! :rotfl:

We haven't tried Tony's yet but the pictures of your dishes look very appetizing! May have to consider that for our Halloween trip as a dinner before MNSSHP.

What a great idea! That would be a fun place to eat pre party! :thumbsup2

Great pics! :)

Thanks! :good vibes

It really surprised me. I am not sure why either. I have always taken note when on the dp to how much those QS meals add up to....

They really do add up. And fast. I really don't mind counter service, but I figure when I have a TIW I should really take advantage of it!

They booth look like they will NEVER do that again. :rotfl:

:rotfl: You're not kidding! :rotfl: I think he actually looks ways grumpier than her, but maybe its because I can barely see her face under that hood. :rotfl:

It is so fun to unexpectedly run into people. It happened often enough on the fall trip I took...yet not a single time did it happen in January.:(

I think fall is a time when a lot of DISers are there, so it makes total sense. January isn't quite as popular. It really is fun running into people. I'm so glad Kristy found me, but if she hadn't I was going to text her at lunch! I really wanted to see her DS in person!

I thought about when I made my comment it might sound like I was saying it wasn't for adults. I am sorry if it seemed like that. I was thinking how when kids get "too old" they think they are "too cool" for things. My youngest son is definitely in the "too cool for kid things" stage.

I knew exactly what you meant. Remember, I have teenage boys (well now young adult boys) and my oldest was always WAY too cool for certain games and activities. Heck, I had a hard time getting him to pose with characters when he was 10 or 11 let alone as a teen. :rotfl:

Tony's a DIS meet, splash and Socerers. Nice!!

It was a great morning. Seriously a ton of fun!

I like the game- it is cute I just wish I would have some strategy to it. Not much mind you, don't want to have to think too hard. :lmao:

It would be nice to have some strategy, but you're right - I NEVER want to have to think too hard on vacation! :rotfl:

I think there is a way to set it on easy med. or hard but not sure if mine is linked that way.

Really? I had no idea!

Have not eaten at Tony's yet.

That surprises me. I figured you must have eaten everywhere by now. See- there is always a new adventure at Disney!

Your splash picture is hilarious. I understand frizzy- I am frizzy everyday so I just don't fight it anymore. :rotfl2:

Our picture is pretty pathetic. But I agree that we were just a tad silly for sitting ALL the way in the back. :lmao:

I was initially entranced with the magic of our bands, I'm not going to lie. Now that the initial newness is gone, I'll think more wisely about the switching component.

Yeah - me too! I just hate that my phone is old and its hard to work the app simply because my phone is slow. I think when I upgrade it will be more fun to switch things around.

Wow, you were really racking up the DIS meets! Score!

Two DISmeets in under 24 hours. Gotta LOVE IT! :thumbsup2 And they were both so impromptu. It was like the Disney gods were smiling on me.

Sorcerer's is on my agenda on an upcoming trip. I just get so distracted by....OH BRIGHT AND SHINY! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I know what you mean by distracted. I am the same way. Take advantage of the game while the novelty is still there. I swear, being around other people who were so enthusiastic about the game was rather infectious.

I enjoy Tony's. It's not my favorite restaurant, but I've always found it enjoyable every time we've gone.

Exactly. It can be mediocre, but its a fun dining experience because its based on such a Disney classic. Gotta love that!

OMG, love love love that redneck ride photo. :lmao::lmao: How funny!!!

That is one pathetic red neck ride photo so I am glad everyone finds it amusing. :rotfl2: I feel like I am barely recognizable.

:goodvibes !

There are so many factors that could have made us miss each other, so it is pretty cool that it worked out the way it did. :worship: And its just so ironic that I was thinking about you at the exact moment. It's always so much fun to see a familiar DIS face!

QUOTE=khertz;50738894]Too bad our May dates don't line up, but there are plenty of Disney trips in store for both of us, I'm sure!![/QUOTE]

I know. I have a lot of near misses for May, which is such a bummer. But you're right, there are plenty more trips on the horizon.

The thing I love about your photography is how you don't just take pictures of the full buildings or landscapes, you zoom in on those details that I'm sure a lot of people don't even notice! And these updates definitely showcased that. :thumbsup2 Main Street, especially in the fall, is ripe with them!

Thanks! When I first started reading TRs I was really entranced by the photos that show detail. That's when I started experimenting with the camera. I was never really into photography before that. Reading TRs sort of unlocked that whole side of me. I also thinks its because I have some ADD. I tend to look at the whole instead of details. So photography allows me to see details so much easier.

Surrrrreeee you road Splash Mountain. Sure you did. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

What? You don't recognize Denny and I in our super spectacular redneck ride photo? I am SHOCKED!

Tony's seems to be one of those places people either hate or...think it's not so bad. I fall into the latter camp.

I agree with that. There are a lot of haters. I think I fall into the "it's not that bad" category as well. I have to admit, sometimes I go in there and think its going to be GREAT and its never quite that good. But its pleasant and its a fun theme!

Glad you enjoyed Sorcerers. My kids really enjoyed it, and liked the card-collecting aspect of it. I will admit, it did seem silly to watch my kids wait while 40-year-olds played the game ahead of them, but then again, Disney is for the kid in all of us.

OK - now THAT makes me feel silly for playing the game, but like you said - Disney IS for the kids in all of us. Where else can you be a kid again? Seriously? No where that I know! So I am going to keep those kids waiting while I play! :rotfl2:

It would be nice to have some strategy, but you're right - I NEVER want to have to think too hard on vacation! :rotfl:

I think I started picking attacks to see what would be the most fun to see happen. There are some really funny results.

That surprises me. I figured you must have eaten everywhere by now. See- there is always a new adventure at Disney!

I am getting better but I am always leery of new places since I can be a boring picky eater and my allergies are probably to blame.

I have quite a few places I have yet to eat. But I am trying ..... :lmao:

But I’m pretty sure we were entranced by the magic of our bands and we wanted to see the green light come on again. It's the novelty, my friends.
Yes, but remember... you only get to see the green light come on 3 times a day. :rolleyes1

Well, maybe not that guy in the back seat!
:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

So I asked Denny if I could use his jacket. He was not buying it so I resorted to begging and bargaining. Hey, I’m not proud.
Come on! A little water never hurt anybody! :rolleyes1

After Splash I can’t imagine we would pass up an opportunity to ride BTMMR. Our FP wasn’t until later, but I’m sure if the wait time was short we would have stopped to take spin. I have no pictures to prove or disprove this theory.
Makes sense to me. If I'm in the area and the lines are short, I'm riding both. :thumbsup2

No sooner did that thought go into my head when I heard someone say “Mary Ellen” and I literally almost bumped right into Kristy!
:thumbsup2

Everything was very tasty and it was nice to have a relaxing lunch complete with candlelight.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Positive reviews for Tony's seem to be rare. :lmao:

I love that picture of Haunted Mansion!!!

What a nice Dismeet! I always love to run into people while there!

Lunch looked tasty! So much so that I had to take a break and go eat an english muffin before replying! :rotfl2:

Um, can I buy that Haunted Mansion picture from you?! That is SO GOOD! :cool1: I just purchased my first "big girl camera" and I am learning all that it does - hopefully my pictures can be as great as yours!

What fun, all the DISmeets! And how sweet you had a candle at your lunch!
