The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

OK I am caught up again. Baseball season so I am busy.

That is a fantastic pic of the lion. I read about the Danish zoo incidents and it angered and saddened me. I love the cats especially but giraffes are fun too. Guess I will renew my zoo membership again. Thankfully the Philly zoo has never done anything like that.

In all of my trips to Disney I have never done the Kali River. I am not overly fond of water rides, I hate getting wet. I also would not put my camera in that cargo hold and there is NO WAY I will put them in the lockers. I have been married to a sheriff for way to long and trust nothing. I have to much invested in my equipment.

I loved the chocolate sculptures my last October trip. Now there's something else for me to miss about my October trips. The mixology class looks interesting but as I rarely drink and my DH drinks even less than that it would be a waste of time for us. It did look like fun to learn something about how it's made though.

May I present the King of the Jungle! Isn’t he gorgeous?

:eek::eek:

I always find Kali a little disappointing. I mean the theme is great, but the ride always seems to come up a little short. Length wise, that is. Does anyone else feel the same way? Like it should be at least 10 minutes longer?

I agree. I do like the ride, but I wish it was longer.

Of course Denny, who didn’t want to give up his man card for wearing a poncho, decided to leave his hood off. Risky business there Denny. I, on the other hand had no man card to preserve, so I held my hood down over my head as tight as I could.

:rotfl2::rotfl:

Denny seemed to make it fine through the first torrential water fall. But he didn’t fare so well with the second fall. Yup, the water went straight down the back of his poncho.

Pride goeth before the drenching.

I love, love, LOVE the chocolate sculptures. They are just too cool.

Have to agree there. The Hidden Mickey bubbles were a nice touch in the one picture.

No one had lined up to be seated yet so we decided to visit that little movie they have on making wine. It was just OK.

Well, we take grapes...and we let 'em go really, really bad.:rotfl2:

I think he was Brian Noyt. The interesting thing about Brian was he was actually scheduled to run the Marine Corp Marathon in the morning.

Hopefully not after consuming all that whiskey.

While theoretically I thought it would be fun to taste different Whiskeys and Bourbons, I found that I don’t really care for this particular spirit. In my opinion it has a funny after taste and an almost waxy consistency.

I remember when Julie once took a little sip of Jim Beam, recoiled in horror and said, "That's one of the most vile substances I've ever tasted. Here, try it." :rotfl:

Doesn't that Boardwalk pool sound good today?! I don't know about your weather, but last night/this morning we had a freak snowfall. Not enough to stick, but when it's almost 80 degrees on Saturday and then in the 40s on Monday, something's seriously wrong. :rotfl2:

The mixology class looks interesting. I'm with you on the bourbon and whiskey, I don't think I could drink that much of each! But interesting to do, nonetheless.

To be honest, I haven't gone on Kali River Rapids since I was 7. Mainly because I hate getting wet on rides, too. :confused3
It's good to hear that your poncho saved you from getting soaked, though. Poor Denny. He should have left that man card in the locker with the camera. :rotfl:

Sorry the mixology class wasn't your cup of tea. Or, should I say, bourbon. I guess now you know, though.

Another trip right around the corner! This time next month, you'll be walking around in the FL sunshine. :goodvibes

Ohhhhh awesome shot of the lion!! He's so handsome!
Yay for one month until the girls' trip! So excited to hear all about that!
I agree about Kali, I'm always waiting for it to keep going and the. I realize that we're done. I don't mind getting wet if it's a HOT sunny day and I can dry off before going in any restaurants! Lol ponchos won't do me much good though. I'm the one in the boat who gets buckets of water poured right on my lap and over my shoulders. Every. Single. Time. :rotfl:
Love the pp pics!
I get that crash on day 3. Good call on the nice rest!
Well the mixology seminar sounds interesting, but too bad you didn't really care for it. But at least now you know you won't have to do a distillery tour! Lol
Looking forward to hearing about your DISmeet!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

oh goodness, that's kind of hilarious about Denny's poncho experience!! :rotfl: I don't mind getting a little wet in the parks but I definitely don't like getting soaked to the bone. Walking around in soaking wet clothes is no fun!

The whiskey seminar sounds interesting! I'm not a big drinker so it probably wouldn't be for me. But it is really cool that there are so many different F&W events to choose from so there is really something for everyone.

GREAT shot of the papa lion!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just stunning

:rotfl: on Denny and his poncho! Are we going on Kali? I think we are...I like the egg roll idea while drying off. :thumbsup2

LOVELY afternoon at the villa pool...that does look like the perfect grill spot, someday I hope to actually use it.

BLEH on the bourbon tasting. Not my favorite for sure.

I love cooking with it though!

Bourbon Creme Angliase for Bread Pudding
Drunken Sweet Potatoes with Bourbon, Maple Syrup and Butter

Sometimes as an option in my rib marinade and well, it's not so bad in egg nog!

Great update.

And I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy to report the possible drama for our trip has been averted. I had a scary couple of days. I'll update later on my report but all is well.

I can't wait!

In fact, I may or may not have bought a new swimsuit that I didn't need...and a sundress that I didn't need

:thumbsup2

Beautiful AK pics! And of course the pair would be out for you right?! And no long distance lens in sight...

..And i just saw your redeeming picture! Awesome and perfect!

When it comes to getting wet, DH has no man card. He'll glady and willingly put it away and wear whatever it takes so he won't get wet...but when it comes to directions or being wrong...man card comes right out:rotfl2:

I would really love to do a Bourbon/Whiskey tasting one day. I feel like i've tried quite a few, but they were probably cheap, crappy ones. And they were probably heavily mixed with different mixers so maybe i've never even 'tasted' the whiskey :rotfl:

Um, yeah I'd say you redeemed yourself with that Lion picture. Holy wow! And no bed head on him either!!!

:rotfl2: Hahaha that totally cracked me up! No bed head! :lmao:

Yes, Khali is a little on the short side. Perhaps we've all been spoiled by the length of that OTHER "wet" ride Splash.

No comparison there lengthwise. You can definitely tell Splash was an original and Kali was - hmmmmm - for lake of a better word - afterthought. I keep imagining that they reached the perimeter of the park and went "whoops, guess we better stop it here". :rotfl2:

Haha, that happens so often. The ponchos often just do not quite work on Khali. I don't mind getting wet head to ankle, but I HATE getting my feet wet. So much discomfort and you just can't get them dry.

Oh I TOTALLY hate wet shoes. Miserable. Thank goodness I mostly wear sandals at the world. They dry so much faster.

Your lounging location at the resort sure does look relaxing. And oh those sky-writers. So much a part of a Disney vacation for me now.

When I first started going to Disney those skywriters were out constantly. I noticed they have slowed down quite a bit recently. I definitely didn't see them in March, but then again I wasn't there on a weekend.

I loved my pool siesta spot. Just perfect.

See that I learned something today about Bourbon and whiskey.

What - that its made out of corn or that you never want to taste it. :rotfl:

Kali River Rapids - The one and only time I rode this attraction I was in the lucky seat. I got drenched from the waist down. I was pretty miserable in those soaking wet shorts, especially since it was only in the 70's that day. :(

Oh YUCK! :faint: I would hate that. That exact thing happened to me once at Universal and I was miserable ALL day. Nothing worse than walking around in wet clothes that just won't dry.

Food & Wine - I remember your trip report with Cynthia and those chocolate sculptures. Your reports and a few others I have read have made this event sound like fun. It is the reason why we are going back to WDW in October. We bought an annual pass, first time ever, and have been taking advantage of it. So far we have been there for the Christmas decorations, January to escape the sub-zero temps at home, last month for Flower and Garden, and the last trip will be Food and Wine. I'm running out of vacation days. ;) We usually only go to WDW every other year, so this is something new for us, and most likely the only time we'll do this. It has been a lot of fun, though, because with the frequent trips we don't feel any pressure to do every ride, or do any rides for that matter. :goodvibes

NICE array of trips! Isn't it wonderful to get 4 trips on the same pass? I will be getting 4 this year as well, even if one was just a mini. I am trying to decide whether to take advantage of the latest AP offer for DVC members. I need to decide soon!

And its great to have an AP so you don't have to go commando. It makes visiting the parks, and trips in general, so much more relaxing.

You are going to love F&W. It's awesome!

BWV - I have always wondered if that open space on the top of that villa building is used for anything? Do you know if it is open to resort guests?

IMG_5385_zps0f4a6713.jpg

I was looking at that myself. Cynthia might know. I always thought it might be the top of a grand villa, but I have absolutely nothing to base that on. :rotfl:

Breckenridge Distillery - Have you ever been to the town of Breckenridge? We visited it once with our daughter and her family. They had moved to Colorado and we wanted to do some touristy stuff. It is a cute little town. We ate at the brewery they have there.

I have. It's been years. We have skied in that area several times. Unfortunately the last time I was there (actually Copper Mountain) I got bad altitude sickness. I haven't been back since but I do love it there!

The only day we overlap is your last day. I'm to call/text Cynthia when we're in the bus heading to WDW, so probably around noon. Im excited to finally meet you ladies!!!

Yayayayay! :cool1: I am very excited. Sorry we are barely overlapping, but it is still going to be great to finally meet you! :thumbsup2

I would have to hold my nose to drink those too. I don't drink much though. I would have to go to the bud light tastings. :rotfl2:

:lmao: OMG Jen! this totally cracked me up! Yeah - I think whiskey and bourbon is definitely an acquired taste and I have quite a long way to go to acquire it! :rotfl2:

Fabulous pictures again. :thumbsup2

Thank! :goodvibes

I enjoyed the Kali ride and some lounge time by the pool. Count me in on the cookout, too. Everybody bring your own steak and a side dish or two. I'll chip in a broccoli salad and maybe some Ghirardelli brownies. :cool2: Fire up that grill!

Right on! How fun would that be? A great location for a DIS meet, me thinks. BTW - I LOVE broccoli salad AND brownies! YUMMMMMMMMM!

I was hoping to get more replies done tonight but I got home way too late. Hopefully I will get them done tomorrow! Busy week already!

One month!!!!!! :hyper:

I know!!!!! Woo hoo! :cool1:

Awesome picture of the lion! Glad you were able to get the shot you wanted in March.

Finally! FINALLY! I've lost count of how many times I've been on the safari and I finally got him! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I find Kali to be disappointing too from a length perspective. It's like "yaaaaayyyyy.....awwwwww it's over....."

Exactly! :lmao:

We've used Yak and Yeti to dry off too!

That's what its there for, right? ::yes::

A cookout there does sound fun. Count me in, I'd totally be there with the adult beverages in tow. :lmao:

It would make such a great place for a DIS meet! Now we just need someone to arrange it.

Wow, the chocolate sculptures are awesome!

They are SO amazing! I wish I could get pictures of them NOT behind glass.

Yup, I'm not a bourbon fan, so that seminar would have been completely lost on me.

It was still a fun seminar so I'm still glad we did it.

Great picture of an impressive looking lion.........even if he IS animatronic! :rolleyes1

:lmao: Well he is, right? ;)

I agree about Kali. It would be a much better ride if it was more similar to Splash Mountain, especially in length. :thumbsup2

It definitely needs a couple more minutes on it. Of course, those minutes should be free of any torrential waterfalls. :rolleyes1

Love that grill, and the surrounding location. When you decide to have that cookout there, let us all know so we can show up for the party. :cool1:

:thumbsup2 I so wish you could do something like that. I think it would make a great location for a DIS meet party! Perfection!

Thanks for the whiskey/bourbon lesson. I never knew what the differences were. :confused3

That's what I'm here for - to educate all about adult beverages!

Ask and ye shall receive

Here are a couple of updates from my "3rd Annual We Are Never Going to Disney in the Summer Again" trip report incorporating pictures from Kali. I don't think you have seen them:

Animal Kingdom, 2008

Animal Kingdom, 2009

.

I said this already - but these pictures are wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing. It's nice to see the scenery because it really is cool. ::yes::

Great picture of the lion! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I am so psyched I finally got a decent picture!

A mixology seminar sounds like a blast. :)

It was really fun! Even though I don't love bourbon, I still really enjoyed it.

A Great Picture of the Lion in March. :thumbsup2

Thanks Pat! I was so psyched to finally get a decent picture of the lion! :cool1:

I looked at the mixology but the spirit didn't entice me much. I have tried the bourbon and not for me either- especially neat- If I am remembering correctly I had some at Food and Wine one year and had to stop for a cup of ice at the outpost to dilute it. I was going to get it down one way or another but I think that trip I did have a nap in Ellen. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: OMG Pat - that is TOO funny! Yup - if there had been ice at the seminar I would have don the exact same thing!!!!!! I really had to work to swallow that down. I can definitely see it leading to a nap in Ellen! :lmao:

Kali is for a hot day and I can 't stand being in really wet clothes- a bathing suit sure I do that often but not wet clothes. At GRR I went back tot he room to change. :rotfl2:

GRR is close to the room, right? That would be perfect. Yup - I don't mind actually getting wet, its the wet clothes afterwards that annoy me to no end.

Opps - Looks like I'm running out of time this morning. Gotta stop here!

I always find Kali a little disappointing. I mean the theme is great, but the ride always seems to come up a little short. Length wise, that is. Does anyone else feel the same way? Like it should be at least 10 minutes longer?
Exactly... I'm not a huge fan of walking around a park in soaking wet clothes, but I do it if the ride is worthwhile. This one... just isn't. :confused3
Of course Denny, who didn’t want to give up his man card for wearing a poncho, decided to leave his hood off. Risky business there Denny. I, on the other hand had no man card to preserve, so I held my hood down over my head as tight as I could.

Denny seemed to make it fine through the first torrential water fall. But he didn’t fare so well with the second fall. Yup, the water went straight down the back of his poncho.
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: Look, if you're gonna wear a poncho... wear the poncho with pride. Otherwise, you're wearing a poncho and you're still just wet. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I love the location of this grill. I always think this would be such a great place for a party. Nice little cookout, a few adult beverages, and a sparkling blue pool. Ahhhhh - how fun does that sound?
I wouldn't mind tossing a few steaks on that grill someday... :scratchin

I love, love, LOVE the chocolate sculptures. They are just too cool.
They are. But I'm sure I could be tracked by the puddle of drool.

No, I didn’t take any notes but here’s what I discovered. While theoretically I thought it would be fun to taste different Whiskeys and Bourbons, I found that I don’t really care for this particular spirit.
:rotfl2: Well, that certainly would be inconvenient.

That didn’t stop me from finishing all my samples. I soldiered through, but there was a woman near me who literally took a sip of each sample and discarded them.
Whew... I was worried. I'm glad you didn't let some good bourbon go to waste. :thumbsup2

Sad! But at least I know I now have no desire to tour a distillery. I'll stick with wineries.
You can have the wineries. I'll take the distilleries! :lmao:

Great update, MEK.

Thanks Kathy!

Funny...just after I posted my update on my PTR, I came to read your update (and then got sidetracked with having to cook dinner, etc.). And I posted I'm doing Kali River Rapids with the girls in June...first time I've done this attraction in years.

:cool1: Woo hoo! I'm sure I said this already, but make sure you invest in some dollar store ponchos. You'll definitely enjoy the ride a lot more if you don't come off soaked!

I LOVE all the photopass photos...they are really great.

Thank you! :goodvibes

I can't wait to try that quiet pool at the Boardwalk...it looks so peaceful.

Both of the quiet pools are lovely and peaceful. You really can't go wrong!

We've never been to F&W so we've obviously never done a seminar. I don't think I'd like that one...I don't like bourbon or whiskey.

Join the club - Apparently I don't care for it too much either, but I never knew it before the seminar! :rolleyes1

I can't wait to read about the DISmeet.

It was a great meet and that's all I am going to say!

We will be there in 24 days !!!!!!!!!!

22 DAYS NOW!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

OK I am caught up again. Baseball season so I am busy.

Ahhh, yes, spring sports are time consuming!

That is a fantastic pic of the lion. I read about the Danish zoo incidents and it angered and saddened me. I love the cats especially but giraffes are fun too. Guess I will renew my zoo membership again. Thankfully the Philly zoo has never done anything like that.

Thank you!

Yes - that incident caused me to feel the same way. Just disgusting. I sincerely doubt anything like that would happen in the US, but I guess you never know really. It just seems like such a waste.

I felt like the locker was pretty safe, but I know what you mean. When you have really expensive equipment its certainly not worth the risk of storing it and you definitely can't take it on the raft. I would never feel like it was safe from possible water exposure there.

I loved the chocolate sculptures my last October trip. Now there's something else for me to miss about my October trips. The mixology class looks interesting but as I rarely drink and my DH drinks even less than that it would be a waste of time for us. It did look like fun to learn something about how it's made though.

The chocolate sculptures are so amazing. What a talent!

You might like one of the food seminars if you don't care for an alcohol seminar. I just enjoy that environment and getting exposed to a new Disney experience.

Pretty life like, wouldn't you say? ::yes::

I agree. I do like the ride, but I wish it was longer.

It totally needs to be longer. I have never understand why its as short as it is. Definite miscalculation.

Silly Man Card! :rolleyes1

Pride goeth before the drenching.

:rotfl2:

Have to agree there. The Hidden Mickey bubbles were a nice touch in the one picture.

They really do come up with some creative ways of incorporating Hidden Mickeys, don't they?

Well, we take grapes...and we let 'em go really, really bad.:rotfl2:

That about sums it up! :rotfl2:

Hopefully not after consuming all that whiskey.

Yeah - that would be bad. I think he was just trying to show us all up thinking "look at you lushes out there in audience".

I remember when Julie once took a little sip of Jim Beam, recoiled in horror and said, "That's one of the most vile substances I've ever tasted. Here, try it." :rotfl:

And you expected a different response! Just sayin!

Doesn't that Boardwalk pool sound good today?! I don't know about your weather, but last night/this morning we had a freak snowfall. Not enough to stick, but when it's almost 80 degrees on Saturday and then in the 40s on Monday, something's seriously wrong. :rotfl2:

The Boardwalk pool ALWAYS sounds good to me! :thumbsup2

You clearly got the bad weather before we did. We had nice warm weather through yesterday and today it went to crap again. Cool and tons of rain. *sigh*

The mixology class looks interesting. I'm with you on the bourbon and whiskey, I don't think I could drink that much of each! But interesting to do, nonetheless.

I would probably do much better with a seminar on vodka or rum, but I still enjoyed enjoyed. It really was interesting and I would definitely do another one - Or at least a wine seminar next time.

To be honest, I haven't gone on Kali River Rapids since I was 7. Mainly because I hate getting wet on rides, too. :confused3
It's good to hear that your poncho saved you from getting soaked, though. Poor Denny. He should have left that man card in the locker with the camera. :rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: He really should have!!!!! Silly men!

You sound exactly like Nick - even when he was younger he did not like any water rides. Sometimes at local parks we would just go on without him! Bad parents! :rotfl2:

Sorry the mixology class wasn't your cup of tea. Or, should I say, bourbon. I guess now you know, though.

Yes - exactly - I had such great visions of visiting Kentucky and tasting bourbon. Definitely not like a wine tasting. Consider my bubble officially burst! :rotfl2:

Another trip right around the corner! This time next month, you'll be walking around in the FL sunshine. :goodvibes

Woo hoo! I can't wait. :woohoo: It seems weird to be going back already, but I am very excited. I do love girls trips so I am sure it will be a ton of fun.

Ohhhhh awesome shot of the lion!! He's so handsome!

Isn't he? I think he is simply gorgeous!

Yay for one month until the girls' trip! So excited to hear all about that!

:cool1: So excited for the girl's trip. It's going to be SO. MUCH. FUN!!!!

I agree about Kali, I'm always waiting for it to keep going and the. I realize that we're done.

Ugh. I start worrying about the end of it right from the start. I can never really sit back and relax because its just too darn short.

I don't mind getting wet if it's a HOT sunny day and I can dry off before going in any restaurants! Lol ponchos won't do me much good though. I'm the one in the boat who gets buckets of water poured right on my lap and over my shoulders. Every. Single. Time. :rotfl:

Kali is fine on a really hot day.

OMG - You poor thing. I am sorry your luck is so bad. The funny thing is you can never figure out exactly who is going to get the deluge until right before it happens.

Love the pp pics!

Thanks!

I get that crash on day 3. Good call on the nice rest!

I once heard a CM say that there is definitely a Day 3 crash. You can actually tell when guests have it.

Well the mixology seminar sounds interesting, but too bad you didn't really care for it. But at least now you know you won't have to do a distillery tour! Lol
Looking forward to hearing about your DISmeet!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

That's right - I sure know that I am not going to travel all the way to Kentucky for a distillery tour. *sigh* It really burst my bubble. I think it was going to be something I loved.

DIS meet coming up in the next update and it was a lot of fun!

I'm about halfway done now! Sorry it's taking me so long to get caught up!

What a great start to your trip!

I love your photos from the MK, they are all gorgeous. The HM one is one of my favourites though. And the ones over Bay Lake are so pretty.

Yours is the first TR picture I've seen of the finished villas at the GF. It looks huge! Is it really as close to the wedding pavilion as it looks? And is the roof a different colour? It might just be the way the light was hitting it, but I like the original colour better (even though there isn't a huge difference).

Pre-parl opening reservations are so great. We are hoping to get one for our trip this year. I love the picture with the whole family :)

So if you notice my ticker today it says 1 month until our Girl’s Trip! Woo hoo! :cool1: Getting very excited! I’m also pretty excited because we are finally having some nice weather here in the midatlantic! Gotta love it!

How exciting is that??!!! :cool1:

May I present the King of the Jungle! Isn’t he gorgeous?

I think this may be the best lion pic from AK I have ever seen!!!

I wonder how old he is? It makes me think about the Danish zoo where they euthanized the older male and female lions, plus two cubs, to make room for a new male lion. So sad.

I had not heard about the lions... but I had heard about the giraffe. Where he wasn't ill...or old.. just not "proper breeding stock" So the euthanized him. THEN they actually dissected him in front of the public. The directer/curator... I am pretty sure he holds a phd - he stood by his decision.

After Safari we had a final FP plus and it was for a ride that I don’t normally do - Kali River Rapids. When scheduling my FP+’s I thought “Why not?”. I do this ride maybe, MAYBE every two or three years. Nick hates it because for some reason he hates to get soaked on a park ride. I know. I know. He's a chip off the old block! But I knew I could talk Denny into.

It is funny, cause this one I skip most trips. I kinda feel like no matter what I do I get wet... then I am left either cold and wet or hot and wet.

I always find Kali a little disappointing. I mean the theme is great, but the ride always seems to come up a little short. Length wise, that is. Does anyone else feel the same way? Like it should be at least 10 minutes longer?

It kinda does to me. I think the river ride in CA is longer. Maybe I am wrong?

So I decided to get a few pre ride photos.

As always I love all of your pictures!!!

After lunch we decided to head back to the Boardwalk for a little pool time.

The quiet pool looks very calm.. with a great view!

And I almost forgot - before we leave the AK allow me to post the rest of our PP pictures from that morning.

Fun pictures! I think the only time we ever get the "special" photo is in AK. I know that other parks must have them...but for some reason the only time we get them is at AK. :scratchin maybe we got one at DHS once

I decided to sign us up for something new this year at F&W - A Mixology Seminar. I had no idea what to expect, but thought it would be something new, different, and fun to do.

How fun!

Oh YC why can’t you have a DVC?

I know, right? But, I guess there is BCV....

For late afternoon I thought it was pretty cool that this spider web was still in full view.

What a cool picture!

I love, love, LOVE the chocolate sculptures. They are just too cool.

I really enjoyed seeing them too. I just wish that I could take better pictures of them.

This so doesn’t look like chocolate.

Did you then try the drinking chocolate? OMG! So decadent! I look forward to sharing a little glass with my dh next fall. :goodvibes

We found out we would be tasting bourbon from the Breckenridge Distillery

So you don't know ahead of time what spirit you will be tasting? I am not a huge fan of whiskey... or bourbon. Can make for a great sauce though...

Wow! Just Wow! The picture of the lion is absolutely fantastic! It looks like he's just standing there waiting for his picture to be taken. Oh and I read about the zoo that put the lion to sleep to make room for the younger lions. Did you see the stories about the giraffes being put down?

It has been years since we've ridden Kali River Rapids. None of us have any desire to get soaking wet and having to walk around with wet underwear. Poor Denny should have known better than to not put on the hood of his poncho. Did the poncho at least keep most of him dry?

I am not a drinker at all so I am not sure that I would have liked the tasting seminar. John, on the other hand, would have probably enjoyed it. He's done the tastings of Moonshine and Whiskey in Tennessee.

So I've been ignoring my TR the last couple nights. Holy Week and all that. I promise to finish replies tomorrow and there definitely will be an update this weekend! :thumbsup2

Count me as DISer 501 that thinks the king of the jungle photo on the safari was awesome! :thumbsup2

No Kali RR for me since I hate to be soggy in the park - even on hot days. It's been since 2006 since I've been on that ride. Even Grizzly River Rapids at DCA doesn't get me on there often.

I've never noticed the grill by the quiet pool at the BWV. It does look like a great place for some grilling and drinking. ;)

What amazing chocolate sculptures. They just look like a piece of artwork. As much as they may put people in the mood for chocolate they should have a little kiosk that sells artsy chocolate nearby. They could make a killing on the suggestive sell aspect of that!

Oh my... If I attended the mixology seminar I may have been like the lady who ditched the whiskey samples… or is bourbon? We'll just call it hooch. I'm more of a wine and frozen cocktail person myself. :)
