The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

Sounds like you guys had a great time on your trip!

We really did! It was such a great trip and just what we needed to get away from this winter's weather.

Pirates! Aww I love that ride. I tend to take predictable pictures too.
.

It's hard not to. I mean there are only so many views in the ride. I'm just bummed I wasn't ready for the holographic. I needed to take off the auto focus and I couldn't see it to do it in time. Boo.

Instant FPs? Wow! Lucky ducks!.

I know, right? I have to admit that I was a little jealous. But I really was happy for them! I know I made their whole experience better.

SO sad about the water around the castle being gone, I don't like change! I love all of the pictures you posted, especially around the castle :lovestruc.

I don't like it either. I really did to do a little bit more research on what they are doing exactly. I just know that when we were there the castle looked bare without its moat.

Aww the pics of the kids dancing with the parade are so cute!.

Those kids were so freakin cute! I really loved watching them.

That Peoplemover soft breeze feeling is the best, I could just ride around on that thing all day.

Tell me about it. All this talk about the People Mover is making me wish I could be there right now!

Nice update. I'm glad you had a great trip and that you are back to writing updates! We hit 99 days to go yesterday until our trip...double digits!

We had a really great time! It was just what we needed with this never ending weather we have been having.

Woo hoo :cool1: for double digits until your trip! That's awesome! Sounds like a wonderful trip!

Instant FPs? Nice! Too bad you couldn't get in on it, haha!

I know, right? I would have loved to get in on that action. :rotfl2: Jealous, you ask? Maybe a little! :rotfl:

The Laugh Floor is always a good time. Hopefully Denny will be that guy one day!

Denny looks like "that guy". I guess if we visit enough he will eventually get chosen. He's got the look.

Nice updates! And beautiful pictures - never can have too many castle pictures, or of cute kids!

Thanks! I tend to agree that its pretty hard to have TOO many pictures! :rotfl2:

Glad you had a nice trip!

We really did have a great time. I totally enjoyed our winter break!

We just got back yesterday from DL and I have decided I will do a TR for this one. I just have to decide what photo loading service to use - I had set up Flickr to do Alaska and that didn't happen. But I'd have to pay for Photobucket pro if I want to use PB.

I'm so glad you are going to do a TR! I just love reading about DL. I know you guys must have had a fab time. I must hear all about it!

Hope to start soon and will definitely send out the bat signal.

Yayayyay! :cool1:

I'm still here :) great update, the weather looked gorgeous, and you packed in some fun rides :)

Thanks Pam! We did have some fabulous weather last October. It was really nice! ::yes::

I love that Laugh Floor, I usually get a nice good belly laugh out of it :goodvibes

It was a lot of fun. I definitely wouldn't do it every trip, but it is fun to have a good Belly laugh!

Any workout is better than no workout, right? You're so much better than me with that! This upcoming trip, I can't not workout because of my 1/2 training program.

Love getting into MK before the crowds descend. You get the best pictures on Main Street.

All you had to say was they were staying in the Treehouses, and that's enough for me! Transportation there is not ideal.

Um, yeah, never let instant FP go to waste!

I'm a firm believer that seating has something to do with That Guy selection. I've gotten close to where it seems they pick them, yet my Pop still hasn't been picked! :confused3

Nothing wrong with lots of castle pics!

Pirates is always a great call! It is often our go-to ride.

I'm glad to hear everyone enjoyed it.

Did the kids like Monsters, Inc? Are they familiar with the characters? I am sure the silliness appealed to them.

OMG- the parade pictures are just too cute! I love the way the characters interact with the little ones. So precious.

That is quite the Fast Pass score for your nephew's family!!! That is really nice of their CM friend to look out for them.

:)

Great pictures from the People Mover. Love that ride!

Finally, your comments about grandparenting "Too Soon" cracked me up. Nate takes home the electronic baby from school tomorrow night and one night next week.

:scared1:

So...um...hi! I totally just arbitrarily picked a page and started from there. Its been so long. But I really do miss all of you, but getting caught up feels like it might have to be a part-time job, so... maybe I take this a little too seriously??? :confused3 ;)

I definitely know what you mean about getting into MK before the crowds. I told someone who had no idea that was a possibility abotu that today and her face absolutely lit up at the thought!

Love your pictures! They are incredible, as usual. Looking at the gorgeous rose garden its tough to believe it won't be there anymore.

CP breakfast is the only character meal we're doing on our trip this summer. IMHO, its the only one that's really worth it...I've always had the most fun there and getting into the park ahead of everyone else is just magical in itself. Plus, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I feel a little closer to Pooh and his friends than I do to the Fab Five...oh no, was that just total Disney blasphemy??!!

Super cute pics of what my husband lovingly refers to as the "Hooray for Everything!" parade. Can't say I'm all that sad to see it go, but knowing how we tour, I wonder if we'll even see the new one?

You got a great shot of the original plans for EPCOT! I so wish that model was somewhere where you could see more of it.

:yay::yay::wave:

I always love seeing you around, Tina!!!

Hey - Sorry its been so long since an update. This update might end up being a little short, but, hey, it’s something.
Well..........at least you kept it short!!! :rotfl:

Although our time in Epcot was limited, I have to say that they did a great job with the F&G setup. Quite a bit different than when I was there last in May Can’t wait to go back in a couple months.
I really would like to have some free time one spring and get to visit during F&G! :cloud9:

I love this scene.

I love this one too! Maybe it's because "I wants the redhead!" :)

Here kitty, kitty (said with a slur)

Yes, one of my favorite lines from the ride. :thumbsup2

Everybody’s favorite mutt

Well, not everybody's! There are some scalawags behind those bars that aren't too fond of him..............

My nephew’s wife casually mentioned that she went to school with a guy who now works for Disney in some type of role where he is able to authorize instant FP’s. She asked me what that meant because he was planning to leave 3 at every park.
:woohoo: for instant FPs! Wonder if those will still be available now that they've screwed the whole thing up with the FP+???

I love this picture. In fact, I love it even more since they drained all the water from around the castle for an improvement project. It just looks so weird to look at the castle and see NO water.

Great shot!

And they seemed to take a special shine towards Jesse.

See what I mean? How cute is he?

Yes, he's cute, but more importantly.................where is Jesse's NECK????

And who doesn’t love Mike W?

Ah yes, Mike with one "I"........or is it "EYE?" I guess Ricky with one "I" or Jim or Bill just doesn't have the same ring to it............. :confused3

I was hoping that Denny might get picked as “that guy”, but it didn’t happen.
I've always wanted to be "that guy" but the best I've ever done is "needing a hug."

Ok - Disclaimer - I got a little crazy again with the castle pictures. Bear with me. I like them all so I couldn’t decide which to post.

I think this one is my favorite! :yay:

Looks like a wonderful Disney day!!!! :goodvibes

Yo ho yo ho... Ok, got it stuck in my head. This update actually just got me excited about the trip we're planning. I really think MiL and FiL will love that ride.

Anyway... I really think that you need to set the bar for your bucket list just a tad higher if the Tomorrowland Speedway is on it. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will be replaced by something else before you have to ride it with grandchildren. :lmao::rotfl2:

Any workout is better than no workout, right? You're so much better than me with that! This upcoming trip, I can't not workout because of my 1/2 training program.

I agree with that. I'd rather go 20 minutes than not at all.

I like your 1/2 training program. It makes a lot of sense. I really should do a long run on Saturdays but I just can't run past 3 miles anymore. My legs always feel like crap.

Love getting into MK before the crowds descend. You get the best pictures on Main Street.

Awww - thanks! I think the empty park really help a lot with those shots. It is just so cool to be there before the park opens. I love it!

All you had to say was they were staying in the Treehouses, and that's enough for me! Transportation there is not ideal.

:rotfl2: Tell me about it! Yet they still got there. If it had been me and my whole family we would probably be showing up at 10am. Wait - that's exactly what happened when we DID stay at the tree houses. :rotfl2:

Um, yeah, never let instant FP go to waste!

Never! That would be blasphemy!

I'm a firm believer that seating has something to do with That Guy selection. I've gotten close to where it seems they pick them, yet my Pop still hasn't been picked! :confused3

It's definitely the seat, but I also think its a certain look. So there must be more than one possible "that guy" seat. I know I got picked once to pick the number between one and 100 and I totally froze. I had the worst stage fright ever. :rotfl:

Nothing wrong with lots of castle pics!

Glad you agree! :good vibes

Pirates is always a great call! It is often our go-to ride.

I'm glad they picked that because I do love that ride. Definitely one of my favorite "classics"!

I'm glad to hear everyone enjoyed it.

I am glad the kids loved it - or at least they weren't scared by it. It's been so long since I've had little kids that I didn't know what to expect.

Did the kids like Monsters, Inc? Are they familiar with the characters? I am sure the silliness appealed to them.

I think a lot of it went over their head, but they were definitely troopers and sat right through it and watched and laughed at everything.

OMG- the parade pictures are just too cute! I love the way the characters interact with the little ones. So precious.

It really is and it goes to prove that you are never too young or too old to go to Disney world! :thumbsup2

That is quite the Fast Pass score for your nephew's family!!! That is really nice of their CM friend to look out for them.

:)

I know! she was really shocked that he did that for him. It was really a great gesture and certainly something that would make a family want to take a repeat trip!

Great pictures from the People Mover. Love that ride!

Thanks and me too! It's just such a relaxing ride and the views are great!

Finally, your comments about grandparenting "Too Soon" cracked me up. Nate takes home the electronic baby from school tomorrow night and one night next week.

:scared1:

OMG! Not the electronic baby! :faint: I hope you have your earplugs all ready to go! :rotfl2:

So...um...hi! I totally just arbitrarily picked a page and started from there. Its been so long. But I really do miss all of you, but getting caught up feels like it might have to be a part-time job, so... maybe I take this a little too seriously??? :confused3 ;)

:welcome: tina! :cool1::cool1::cool1: Thanks for picking my TR to read. So excited that you might be back on the DIS! We have certainly missed you around here!

I definitely know what you mean about getting into MK before the crowds. I told someone who had no idea that was a possibility abotu that today and her face absolutely lit up at the thought!

I love getting into the MK before it opens. Out of all the parks that's my favorite for early opening. I'm sure there are lots of people out there who don't realize you can get into the park early. Shhhhh! Maybe we shouldn't tell them.

Love your pictures! They are incredible, as usual. Looking at the gorgeous rose garden its tough to believe it won't be there anymore.

Thanks!

And I know! I'm not sure how I feel about the whole redesign thing. I like the park the way it is right now. I keep telling myself change is good, but why not let the dust settle after the Fantasyland addition. :confused3

:rotfl2: Not blasphemy at all. Pooh and his friends have always been my favorite and, as much as I like the CMC breakfast, CP remains my favorite. I just love it there. :goodvibes

Super cute pics of what my husband lovingly refers to as the "Hooray for Everything!" parade. Can't say I'm all that sad to see it go, but knowing how we tour, I wonder if we'll even see the new one?

:lmao: Hooray For Everything! :lmao: That is TOO funny! I think he summed it up just perfectly. There is a lot of Hooray going on there.

You got a great shot of the original plans for EPCOT! I so wish that model was somewhere where you could see more of it.

I totally agree!

:yay::yay::wave:

I always love seeing you around, Tina!!!

I know! I think there are a lot of people on the boards who miss Tina! Come Back Tina!!!!!!!!

Well..........at least you kept it short!!! :rotfl:

It actually turned out longer than I thought it would. Well, look at me! :rotfl:

I really would like to have some free time one spring and get to visit during F&G! :cloud9:

May will be my third F&G trip, but I don't think the first one counts because for some reason I hardly spent any time in Epcot. That was a really odd trip and also a short one. Not one of my favs.

I love this one too! Maybe it's because "I wants the redhead!" :)

:rotfl2:

Yes, one of my favorite lines from the ride. :thumbsup2

I use that line on my cats all the time, but they don't get it. Go figure! :confused3

Well, not everybody's! There are some scalawags behind those bars that aren't too fond of him..............

True! Good point!

:woohoo: for instant FPs! Wonder if those will still be available now that they've screwed the whole thing up with the FP+???

I think they will always be available because its pretty hard to put an instant FP on a magic band. There will always be reasons for magic FP's and there will always be pen and paper. :thumbsup2

Great shot!

Thanks! I really like that one, too!

Yes, he's cute, but more importantly.................where is Jesse's NECK????

:rotfl2: Hmmmmm - I don't know. :confused3

Ah yes, Mike with one "I"........or is it "EYE?" I guess Ricky with one "I" or Jim or Bill just doesn't have the same ring to it............. :confused3

Umm - no they don't! :rotfl:

I've always wanted to be "that guy" but the best I've ever done is "needing a hug."

Hey - that's a start! You can only go up from there!

I think this one is my favorite! :yay:

Thanks! I was really happy with the shots I got from the People Mover! I usually don't do so well.

Looks like a wonderful Disney day!!!! :goodvibes

Totally a perfect Disney Day! :cool1::wizard:

Yo ho yo ho... Ok, got it stuck in my head. This update actually just got me excited about the trip we're planning. I really think MiL and FiL will love that ride.

It's pretty easy to get that stuck in your head. Sorry for that!:rolleyes1

Yes - your inlaws are going to love it! It's such a great classic. So perfect in so many way!

Anyway... I really think that you need to set the bar for your bucket list just a tad higher if the Tomorrowland Speedway is on it. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will be replaced by something else before you have to ride it with grandchildren. :lmao::rotfl2:

:rotfl2: You think? :rotfl2: I guess maybe you are right, which is probably why it perpetually remains on the bottom of the bucket list. *sigh*

My favorite is the hairy pirate leg. I think the last few times I have gotten better at trying to get a good shot of him.

I can’t help it. I do have a certain fondness for Rozz!

Ahhhh Rozz, Love her...

I always try for this picture and I think I “almost” got it!

Pretty good. Hard shot to get- I always get a blue streak unless I happen to stop right there.:lmao:

Still on my bucket list. I’m saving it for grandchildren!

I think it is time I put that back on the list. It has been a while, a long while. Time to go back to hitting the center bar. :rotfl2:

The pirate's leg always grosses me out now I know they used real hair. :)

Jill in CO

I got way behind due to some craziness at work but I'm all caught up now. No idea when I even last commented. :confused3 Hopefully I can keep up better now as things have finally slowed down.

As Denny and I were eyeing up the castle we noticed that the Move it, Shake it Parade was gearing up.

What? No pics of you and Denny "moving & shaking"? :rotfl2:

I was hoping that Denny might get picked as “that guy”, but it didn’t happen. Some other gray headed guy got that esteemed honor!
That's on my bucket list....to be "that guy"! :cool1:

Looking forward to more!

My favorite is the hairy pirate leg. I think the last few times I have gotten better at trying to get a good shot of him.

So - I never noticed that the pirates leg was hairy. :rotfl2: Shows my level of attention to detail. :rotfl2:

Ahhhh Rozz, Love her...

Me too! She's great. She cracks me up every time she opens her mouth.

Pretty good. Hard shot to get- I always get a blue streak unless I happen to stop right there.:lmao:

I took several shots. I got lucky with that one! :thumbsup2

I think it is time I put that back on the list. It has been a while, a long while. Time to go back to hitting the center bar. :rotfl2:

I'm not even sure what that means - I guess that's proof that I have never been on the speedway. All I hear is that I'm not missing much.

The pirate's leg always grosses me out now I know they used real hair. :)

Jill in CO

What? They use REAL hair? :confused3 I had no idea. :faint:

Thanks for sharing that little factoid. :rotfl:

Hi Mary Ellen, I am sooo tired I can't even read to catch up !! In 52 days I will be in Disney:banana::banana:

50 days now!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Oh Rosie - you are working much TOO hard!

I did not know that .....and now I am grossed out too

Ditto! :lmao:

I got way behind due to some craziness at work but I'm all caught up now. No idea when I even last commented. :confused3 Hopefully I can keep up better now as things have finally slowed down.

Welcome back! Doesn't it just stink when work gets in the way. I hate that! Glad things are slowing down for you. Sometimes I think keeping up on the DIS is a part time job. :rolleyes1

What? No pics of you and Denny "moving & shaking"? :rotfl2:

I know you are really disappointed about that! :rotfl:

That's on my bucket list....to be "that guy"! :cool1:

I'm not sure if you are serious or not. But, if you ARE serious I think shooting for "that guy" is an admirable ambition!!!!! :rolleyes1

Looking forward to more!

Well guess what? I've got an update almost ready to go! :thumbsup2

Splish Splash

In my last update the Denster (aka Denny) and I were getting ready to leave the my BIL’s family in the MK. We had a lovely morning with them and enjoyed a yummy breakfast at CP. But they had instant FP’s and we did not. Since it was already mid day, the crowds were increasing, and we had no FP+’s of our own, we decided that some pool time was in order.

Here’s our actual PP pictures before leaving the park.

Ok, so technically our anniversary was a couple days before we left on the trip, but whose counting, right?

We enjoyed one last look at Tomorrowland before we left.

Good bye to the Plaza and one of my favorite little sitting areas.

We hit the monorail station at 12:45 - to be exact.

We took the express monorail

The GF looks so lovely.

We passed the villas

Still not completely sure where the villas parking lot is. I’m only curious because I think the regular parking lot of the GF is the worse resort parking lot on the entire WDW property.

Once we got to the parking lot I realized that there was a whole lineup of wheelchairs. Good to know. Do you all know that? Just curious.

Denny had to take a work call while we were walking to the car. I sat in the shade while he talked on the phone.

And then we were off

When we got back to the Boardwalk, we walked the 2.5 miles from the parking lot. Did you notice that the distance is getting farther!

Once in the villa I decided to get a few shots of our view with my real camera.

The side view

The door view

The distance view
