The "Ehhiee" The Mama & The Nanine - A much needed vacation 12/7 - 12/11

So if you've read my blog, or the updates in the adoption thread here on the Dis, then you know my husband and I have been through quite the traumatic experience trying to adopt our daughter. Well, we've weathered the storm, and brought her home in January 2008, and we're ready to celebrate our 1-year as a forever family Disney style in December! We're just 3 weeks off from the day she was forever placed into my arms, but that's okay!


There's Me, the Mama!

I'm the Queen of multi-tasking, changing dirty di-di's, shnugshnugs all day, singer of the skinamerinky dink, obsessive compulsive planner, and wife to the "Ehhhieeeee".

Ehhiee (or Eddie if you don't speak Nanine)

A disney fuhreak, loves to look at food porn with me, stuffs his big noggin into mickey wizard hats , loves hockey, intentionally finds the most ridiculous news stories and then reads them to ME (gee honey, thought you loved me), and reality tv junkie (along with me).

Nanine (Madeline)

She's our over the top cute, sweet, just about 2-year-old daughter. She talks all day long, loves to argue, play with balls, bubbles, and balloons, loves shayshay (milk) and shnugshnug with her Mama, and loves to pinch her Dada's nose and say "bep bep" (beep beep).



We'll be arriving in the wonderful world on Dec 7 and saying for 4 nights / 5 days and staying at Coronado Springs Resort. [ sidenote: we would have loved to stay at the AKV since Nanine is over the top in love with animals, specifically, woo-woos. end note ]

We are at the 40 day mark!!!! There is a lot of buzzing with excitement around here. Even my 2-yr-old is picking up on it, even though she is insisting that she isn't going to WDW. Oh little does she know what awaits her.

I'm purchasing our airfare and MVMCP tickets on Friday! As of right now we're flying in the night of the 6th, arriving at 9:30pm, and finding a hotel to sleep at. I think this is probably the best way to do it so we have a good nights rest to enjoy a full day in the world!

Just booked my airfare. At least something good came out of my very dramatic adoption experience - we had travel certificates which have just come in handy!

Also purchased our Mickey Christmas Party tickets!

What a relief. Now I just need to book a hotel for the night we fly in (6th). I did see one at one of the values- which my husband does not like, but since we're only sleeping there.. he will cope!

I have finally planned all of M's outfits. This has been bugging me for awhile now. I want to make sure she is all ready for Disney. My husband does not understand the importance of the perfect bows with the perfect outfit. But it is her first trip and you only get one. I don't blame him, he does not get all the girly stuff, if he did, I would worry.

I've also canceled all of our playgroup meetings the wk leading up to leaving. I do not want M to get sick. I will just make that week a lot more fun for her so she won't miss anything.

Tomorrow I think we'll make a countdown chain. Maybe a Mickey head one.

Our days are in the 20s... I think we are at 27 days away! Not too much longer to go.

Just a few days away!!!

Here is our Mickey countdown from the other day...

Madeline has LOVED pulling them off each night.

We are still not packed, have not even begun. I'm waiting on Minnie Dresses that I ordered for Madeline which have not come yet, and I'm doubting that they will make it in time. It's very upsetting since I planned each outfit for her with coordinating bows.

I think Sunday we're going to the AK in the morning and Epcot in the evening for illuminations. So excited!

Well we leave today. My husband was thrilled that we did not have an early morning flight since we have taken ONLY early morning flights to Guatemala over the last three years.

We are ready to go!
