Yep, here I am, having only been home for 2 hours since our 4th Disney trip, and I'm writing my first trip report on here. Woohoo!

The Ecstasy and the Agony is a chapter in the Unofficial Guide, and I think it appropriately fits this trip.

For background, I am 27, DH is 32, DD is 6. We live exactly 504 miles from Pop Century Resort. We drive each time.

**Day 1 Sunday 5/7/06**

We wake up bright and early to leave a little before 7am. We anticipate a 9-10 hr drive.

About 80 miles down the road, we make our first stop. DH exits the Honda spaceship, err Honda Accord, and stops mid-step. He does not have his wallet. Yes sir ladies and gentlemen, my DH has left his wallet at HOME. 80 miles back that way. And this my friends is just an omen of things to come.

We had no choice but to go back. He insists on driving the whole way each trip, he still had all our cash, credit cards, etc. We HAD to go back.

So we make good time and arrive back at our house around 9:30, and back at the said 80 mile point around 11:00. Dark clouds are on the horizon. Soon we are in TORRENTIAL downpours. One of those downpours. We stop once on the side of the road, and once to eat lunch. But it doesn't stop. It keeps on and on and on raining hard. We make it to I-10, doing just 35mph on the interstate.

We finally make it to Pop Century at 7pm CT. Nearly 12 hrs after we left. Between the wallet and the rain, we were set back 3 hours. There is no time for a leisurely swim in the pool, as we had promised DD. There is just time to check in, eat supper, get settled in, and go to bed.

**Day 2 Monday 5/8/06**

We wake up bright and early for Animal Kingdom. We eat breakfast in the Pop Century food court. DD was ecstatic about the frozen coke machine. I tried it a little later, and it was NASTY. Super syrupy and way too sweet. Something wasn't right with it. File this thought for later.

We head to AK, and ride EE twice right off the bat. DD hated it. And I agree- the backwards forces (not a freefall feeling, but a push or force) were too intense for her. We shouldn't have taken her on it the 2nd time. Then we ride KRR twice.

DD isn't feeling good. She's doubled over with her tummy hurting, and extremely sleepy. She's miserable. At 12 we head back to the room. Take a 2 hour nap. Wake up, and DD seems better. We decide to head to the food court for a late lunch.

To those who might have happened to witness my DD puking on the Pop Century food court floor, please accept my apologies. And a big thank you to the employee who helped clean up the mess. The 'contents' were the said Frozen Coke earlier. I don't know if there really was something wrong with it, or if EE did it, but for the remainder of the trip we had no more frozen cokes.

DH insisted that DD was better now that she had 'gotten it out', and wanted to go to MK. DD was begging to go to MK. So I reluctantly agreed. As soon as we arrived there, I knew it was a big mistake. DD wasn't talking much, just laying in her stroller. We rode Buzz Lightyear, and left.

We had ADRs for Chef Mickeys that night. And you all know how hard it is to get those ADRs. We had no choice but to cancel. So we called down to the front desk, and asked if they could work some Disney Magic for us and reschedule Chef Mickey's for another night. She put us through to the voice mail of the manager of Chef Mickey's. The manager called back about an hour later, and we told her what happened. She told us to just name our day and time, and she would reschedule it. Yeah for manager Rebecca and some Disney Magic! We rescheduled for Thursday night.

And so we retired to bed, until DD got sick again at 11:30. Kudos to mousekeeping for getting us all new bedding at midnight!

**Day 3 Tuesday 05/09/06**

On Tuesday we stayed around the resort for most of the day. I took DD swimming while DH did laundry. He took a nap that afternoon, and I took Kimberly to explore the rest of the resort. Then that night we took a bus to Epcot, then the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center, and then switched monorails for the Contemporary resort. We ate at the Concourse Steakhouse. We didn't have a reservation, only had to wait abour 45 min. They gave us a beeper, and we were free to explore the shops in the Contemporary. I had a really good steak with red wine sauce and red wine butter, and Dallas had the most awesome roasted chicken we've ever tasted.

**Day 4 Wednesday 05/10/06**

On Wednesday- FINALLY head to the Magic Kingdom! This was a great day. My back did not bother me too bad, and my crocs did wonders for my feet. We went to Fantasyland first, b/c on our last trip DD had a fit to ride Peter Pan. We waited in line then for 30 minutes and barely moved 2 ft. So we went to Fantasyland and they rode the teacups, and we all rode Peter Pan (which was great! 1st time riding it!), Pooh's ride, It's a Small World (afterall), and watched Mickey's Philharmagic (I LOVE that show, should've gone back to it again). Then headed to Tomorrowland for Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Tomorrowland Transportation Authority, and Carosel of Progress. Kimberly had a fit to ride Splash Mountain, so we went there next. Waited *45* minutes to ride it! Afterwards we hit the Enchanted Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise (man that was corny! LOL), and Aladdin's Carpets. Then we went back to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain 3x with NO WAIT.

Then it was time to eat at Ohanas. That is hands down my favorite Disney restaurant. The food was SO delicious. Served family style, all you can eat. No menu- they just start bringing out the food. Wonton chips with 3 dips, BBQ wings, delicious salad with honey dressing, grilled meats, tropical shrimp, and the most awesome bread pudding I have ever eaten! No characters at the dinner meal, but there was plenty of entertainment. There was a Hawaiian lady who headed up ganes for the kids: limbo, hula lessons, and a coconut race. We stayed there over 90 minutes, and I really hated to leave. We had a great seat by the window, and right by where the entertainment was going on. (sigh). Gotta eat there again!!

That's all for now- more will follow later!

Doesnt' that stink, it never fails someone is always sick. We're in Disney World, we're not supposed to be sick. My daughter had to go to the ER last year , she had a throat infection. Well glad to hear your trip gets better, can't wait to read more.

Awwww.... too bad about your daughter... Yep.. I was there.. saw the whole thing.... She handled it like a trooper!! And so did you! It's amazing how nothing can get in the way of some people and their food though.. mostly everyone just kept walking around you all like nothing was going on! I told the CM's about your dilema (why doesn't that look like it is spelled right??? ) Hmmmmm... Well.. I hope the rest of your trip was better!

Wow - a really rough start :sad2:

Hopefully it only got better!! Can't wait to hear the rest.

I hope you come back and tell us the Ecstasy part.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for sharing.

Good report so far. I hate that your daughter was sick on vacation that is no fun! Waiting to see how the rest comes out.

That is awesome that they worked the magic and got you that ADR for Chef Mickey's after you little girl got sick! Boy, it stinks being sick at Disney World.

I love Ohana! I could make a meal out of the chicken wings and salad! Yum!
