The Duggars family TV show premieres this Sat.

My Tater Tot Casserole is a little different...

1lb. of lean ground chuck or round
1 can cream of mushroom soup - I use 98% fat free
1 can whole kernel corn
1 cup of shredded chedder cheese - I use 2%
enough tater tots to cover the top

brown the meat with salt and pepper; drain
mix with the can of cream of mushroom soup
spread in the bottom of a casserole dish
top with can of corn
then cheese
then tater tots

Bake according to the pkg. directions on the tater tot bag.

We usually have this with homemade rolls, and a salad.

Hey..we like it! :teeth:

Hey..I would LOVE the Duggar Tots  My house would be cleaner, my dinner would be made and my little ones would be tended to 24/7! I'll be in charge of making my DH happy :rotfl2: Those little Tots sure know how to keep a house runnin' :rolleyes1

I'm with JennyMominRI :thumbsup2

:woohoo: BRING ON THE TOTS :woohoo:

--Minus the corn ;) Sorry Brier Rose, I don't do corn _in_ my food, although the rest of your recipe looks yummy :teeth:

Forgive me, obviously I am the ONLY one here making inferences.

You're the only one stacking an inference on top of an inference to accuse others of accusing the Duggars.

Everyone agrees with you that they are not child abusers.

Brier Rose, your recipe sounds yummy to me but then potatoes and cheese go together IMO.

Yes, like those cheesey hashbrowns at the Crystal Palace. :thumbsup2

This one sounds good. I love corn. I need to make this. Jim Bob's recipe with the ground turkey did not sound appealing to me. DH hates ground turkey.

We don't care for ground turkey either.

I've made it with the lower fat ingredients since starting Weight Watchers, and really none of the family even noticed the difference.

It not gourmet by any means, but it'll do for a quick and easy meal at least once or twice a month! :thumbsup2

Staight up and down would be vertical not perpendicular. The vertical stud would be perpendicular to the horizontal stud. This misuse of the word is what is so funny.

Actually, it would be "plumb", plumb and level in construction. I think it was all the kids with their "oh, please, mother, don't make us repeat that on the camera" sound that was so funny!

Thanks for sharing the tater tot casserole recipes. Of the two recipes posted, I prefer Briar Rose's.

If you like the tater tot casserole, let me know and I can give you all kinds of recipes. We're from midwest Iowa, universe of easy casserole dishes! :rotfl2:

It will be interesting to see if this happens. Did anyone catch how much the family spends at Aldi's for groceries. My husband was talking and I missed it. If I heard correctly, I thought he said $200.
I believe it was $600 something he said about 100 per cart.

They are showing the old show at 7pm EST and then the new show at 8pm on TLC tonight

so would the tater tots be placed in the casserol dish horizontal, perpendicular or plumb?

p.s. i want to move someplace i can get an entire cart of groceries (of any type) for a hundred dollars or less :cheer2:

Laugh... don't forget they were at Aldi's and buying CASES of things.... that cart fills up FAST with a case...

MY problem is getting out of Costco for under 200.00 :confused3 :lmao:

I watched the new show last night and I have to admit, as much as I wanted to think they were kooks, they have some amazingly well spoken, well behaved kids. I know if my dad told me that all my free time was going to be devoted to doing "jurisdictions" and mentoring my little bros and sisters...i would have NOT been happy!

They are very amazing

We don't do ground turkey either... got a bad batch close to 17 years ago.. I can smell it now... eeeeyuck.....

I modified the tater tot recipe just like yours... laugh... except I used green beans.... thought of corn - but didn't have any at the time...

Don't you LOVE the fat free mushroom soup for casseroles? Also I try to use the sharp cheddar 2% when making a casserole - don't use as much cheese and the flavor seems to work better since the cheese doesn't melt as easily...

Gotta make it as "cheap" WW points wise as possible!!!! :rotfl:

Is that possible?

Laugh... not for me it isn't... I buy all my meat there ... and usually paper products... not that I can't find them cheaper anywhere - it's just easier to have a stock pile of paper towels and toilet paper..

Then of course... books... and cereal ... and dog biscuits ... and CANNED VEGETABLES
