The Do-Over Report.**Updated 7/28 ** Day 1 MK!!!! w/oPICS!!!!

Ok - Dumb question - but I'll ask anyway... :goodvibes
Is the Wilderness Lodge anywhere near Fort Wilderness?

And Laura - your photos are great!!

We always try to stay on Conceirge level when we stay at Marriotts - I really like that perk! Was it a hassle to only be at the resort for one day, though?

I already knew about the concierge but even a courtyard view. Now that's a most excellent upgrade fer sure! :thumbsup2

Since there is this big debate, I decided to start a poll. Please see the link in my siggie! This should be fun...

The Dizers are winning on your poll, DM. But I still love ya more than my luggage!

To answer the 2nd part of you question, no it was easy. We packed two suitcases. One small one for that night and a bigger one for the rest of the time.

That's a great picture of the spot I hung out at the Lodge pool. I loved leaning up against the water bridge and stretching my arms out in the water.

Your pictures are excellent! Makes me miss the Lodge a whole lot. And that's a su-weet upgrade. I hope you made rednecks everywhere proud and planted yourself in the lounge and ate every morsel of food the minute it was put out. Or did you just take a monster tray of food back to your room? Also a good option.

This may be why the ZZUBs are never upgraded to Concierge.

:moped:

We did the south proud in the lounge. When we first arrived it was noon time and all they had were cokes and goldfish and pretzels and stuff like that. But when Happy Hour was on we had oursevles a drink or two and Chris made a meal off of the uncrustables to soak up some of the beer.( It's OK folks, we left the driving to Disney that night) It's a wonder he had any room for dinner at Ohana later that night, but he managed somehow.

I'm with DM, spitting coke all over keyboard... :lmao:

I know, I'm picturing ZZUB like Clark Griswald's cousin Eddie at the nasty buffet in Las Vegas Vacation. Is that a vague movie reference or what. Somehow I think ZZUB will get it.

After our leisurely afternoon at the pool we went up for showers and naps and then hit the lounge for libations(aka cocktails) before our little journey over to the Poly for dinner and our Wishes Cruise. My friend Theresa (a Disney CM at MK) was meeting us for the evening, so after a few glasses of wine and some cheese for me and a few beers and uncrustables for Chris and the boys(ha ha just kidding, the boys didn't have any uncrustables:lmao: ) we headed down to the boat dock to take a ride over to the Contemporary.

WooHoo We must be in the front row! Driving the monorail!:woohoo:

Now we could have made this trip in all of about 5 minutes or less had we driven to the Poly from the WL, but being the responsible parents that we are(remember we partook of the free drinks at the lounge) we took this scenic route which took more like 45 minutes. Luckily, I knew it would take a long time because I frequent the DIS so we allowed plenty of time for this excursion, and still made it with 20 minutes to spare for our 7:45 ADR at Ohana.:thumbsup2

"I'll have some of the yella'". That is my favorite part of the movie! That and when the cook switches the flags for the blue and the yellow stuff.

...not a vague reference to me!!! :rotfl:
