The Do and Don't of Room Service

We have enjoyed the all Hands on Deck. We order it with extra crackers as my kids will devour those but not most of the cheeses. Last time we did this we got a whole sleeve of crackers that lasted the rest of the cruise.

We have gotten the wings a few times now but be warned, although they are called buffalo wings, they are not buffalo. Its more of a sweet and sour/BBQ sauce. They are good, but we were surprised the first time this happened.

We've gotten everything and love everything, our favorite is the all hands on deck and the wings. We always tip $5 because we get 2-3 items

eta: I'm from Buffalo and would have to agree with PP that the wings are not really true buffalo wings but they are still tasty... I live in PA now so I am used to crappy wings lol

We've only ever ordered breakfast for room service and only twice - the mornings that DH and I had Palo brunch booked so we ordered food for our kids before taking them to the kids club.

My DD is quite the cheese conasiure lol so can't wait to order all hands on deck for her to try!

We've had milk/cookies, 2 sandwiches and chips it was all very fast within minutes. I think DD got a hot dog too ? This cruise I hope to utilize room service more no rushing in morning to breakfast. I like the idea of preordering the night before but I'd like to just sleep as late as I can without worrying about room service coming

DH orders coffee in the mornings. It's quick and hot.
I've ordered the "All Hands On Deck" every cruise (4 cruises).
I ordered a BLT this past cruise. It came w/ the crusts cut off.

I always make up tip envelopes for room service before we leave for vacation. It helps keep things more organized for me.

I love this idea! I did "mouse keeping" envelopes for my last WDW trip.

We've ordered wings, the blt, all hands on deck platter, Mickey bars (both ice cream & rice crispie), cake of the day; but my daughter's very favorite was the chicken Ceasar salad. She ordered that every single night after the end of the nights activities & still talks about it to this day. She was only 11 & that was probably one of her favorite memories of that cruise. Funny enough, on the second night I tried one bite & somehow managed to break my tooth in half with 4 days left to go. That was interesting!

Tips are usually about $1 per item/per person (someone can correct me) it's not required but that's what I've seen suggested. So if DH and I order 2 things we tip $4. It's a great option if you need an afternoon rest in between adventures.

I think I was told $1 per item. I do not really know. We tend to order 3-4 items and tip $5.

Oh no! I hope it was not painful.

I read a few years ago that some people order coffee the night before and it is still hot enough the next morning after sitting all night in the carafe. Anyone confirm this? I actually prefer my coffee not as hot as most people, so cooling a little is fine with me.

And last posting from me for tonight, I am not a "breakfast food" person but like to eat in the mornings, can you order a pizza or sandwich in the mornings?

We tried this, it was not hot enough for us but it may be for you if you do not like it as hot as most folks.

Luckily it wasn't painful at all. I had taken my daughter as a post-cancer bucket list item & for something to be about her instead of my cancer. Turns out after you've been in a long surgery (mine was 8 hours) that it's fairly normal to have cracked or broken teeth. I just didn't realize this & that tooth was already cracked from my surgery. It was just the salad that took it down! Which is the most comic part.

Yay to kicking cancer's butt. Sorry about the tooth but you're right. Lettuce isn't my first culprit for taking out a tooth.

What types of items cost extra? I read on the website that "packaged items" are extra but can't think of what that might include.
