that's the better question. I'm making a blueberry hat for a friend who's having a baby this month. Then with the wool I got today I am going to make my MIL some fingerless gloves.

The shop had the cotton yarn in the color I want to make a sweater for our WDW trip....but it'll be over $100 to do

Jennifer.....my MIL used to knit on consignment for a yarn shop (finishing things other people couldn't)....and people were always amazed at how much it cost them to have her do it......

I need a project (but I don't knit)......other than baking cookies and cleaning this cottage
Good thing our "maid" looks so good.....he's not very good at cleaning

Let's see, what project can we get you to take up? Well I could teach you to knit I taught paige and she likes it but she really LOVES sewing. I can sew. I make a lot of costumes and even made my and my SIL's wedding dresses. I just don't find it enjoyable or relaxing.

I have several clients I knit and design for. Fortunately Ann Arbor has a large afluent community that can appriecate quality hand done work. I have so far been able to fund all my big projects on that money (and a disney trip ) But my latest and newest client is dragging her feet and it looks like I won't get paid much before Christmas.

Off to make a fresh pot of coffee.

Well to tell you the truth, Elaine is all for it.

However, seeing how hard of a time she has keeping up, and me trying to do so many things at once, I don't think I would be able to keep up with this thread anyways. (I have to admit I really did just skim through checking for references about me)

I do have hobbies, Jennifer. I just need to get them out.....but it won't be before the first of the year.....too much going on until then.
I cross stitch......I sew also. I made all my kids' Halloween costumes when they were younger (actually I made a robe for DS this year (as in role-playing)). But I don't really enjoy that.

You are lucky people appreciate your handiwork.
We did craft fairs for 10 or so years and it was really hard in this area.....but DH takes it to work (much more yuppie area) and no problem.......so we just take things in at holiday time.

Sigh.

Not a happy cottage camper today. They laid of 40 employees today. Some of them had been here 18 and 20 years. Man, how I hate to see that happen.

On top of that, my moose antler ceiling fan is ruined. I just got done decorating my room and now we have to start packing. (the cabana boy idea is cheering my up just a little though).

Sorry YaYa's. No cooking dinner tonite. We'll order pizza. (and there will be NO cheese and sausage Apollo's either! I am not in the mood to have you guys play with your food tonite!)

I'm going upstairs to my (and Carol's) room and sit and pout.

Hey Nancy, you were right, I survived the in-laws! And we had my favourite food for lunch and a cake we love in the afternoon. Yep, things could have been worse. MIL was ratty with FIl but I guess he's used to it. Why is it that after 40+ years of marriage, people are still trying to change each other?
The best bit was that I got to see the newest member of the family - Eliano, 10.5 months! And what was this gorgeous little stylish man wearing? A mickey mouse sweatshirt! What a cutie.
Marilyn - are we really getting rid of the antlers? I've had backache all day from cleaning the top ones! If we keep them, you do the top ones next time!
Sorry to hear about the lay-offs. I hope everything picks up for everyone real soon, everywhere.

My books - the first one is hard to summarize. It's about two men whose working relationship develops into a friendship. They're thrown together due to circumstances beyond their control, making them face up to their loneliness and the walls they've built around themselves. Told you it was hard to summarize! The one I'm doing now is a mystery. A family Christmas in a strange house... The next one will be about people working in an office. The one after that... and one day I'll find an agent/publisher and become rich! But only famous to my fellow Disers please - I'm too shy for the rest of the world. Although I don't mind housekeepers knowing me...
And if you all come to Germany I will BUY extra towels!!!!!

I'm sorry about your company's layoffs, my Dad/brother's (they work at the same place) company has be cut down to 22!! DH and I own a small business and it has been a rough 2 years, things are picking up but I worry about the winter, last year was a very tough one.

You and Carol just need to bring in a water hose and that will do the trick in cleaning the moose antlers (plus it will give you two an excuse to oogle the pool boy!!)

I am heading out later to the football game - at least a 1.5 hour one-way trip and they are calling for at least 1-3 inches both here and up in Erie where the game is. And we all know about Erie and the Lake Erie effect snow belt, don't we.
