Jodie, I think it is reasonable to tell the kids that the decision was made to close their schools in order to make sure that they are safe and to give them more time to put safety measures into place. I know you don't want them scared, but sometimes the truth is less scary than their imaginations.

I am staying at Port Orleans Riverside. From what I understand there is little to no availability at the Disney resorts for that time period but I do believe there are rooms available at the Swan and Dolphin.

Acck I forgot to say I like what you are planning to tell the kids. Its the truth but in a non scary way. They will probably feel better knowing that more security is being planned and that they are working to ensure their safety. Kids are a lot more savvy than we give them credit for sometimes. I was so dreading you putting them on the school bus tomorrow because I knew how upset you would be. I was scared for you and for them.

I also would like Karen's Mac N Cheese for the crock pot. Yes my kids love Kraft from the box and of course Easy Mac. I love old fashioned mac and cheese. Karen, I know that I am your favorite because you like to type my name. It is such a common name. Doesn't everybody have an Aunt Betty that they just used to love? ACH!!!! it has always reminded me of an old lady. Can you imagine looking at a baby and saying Betty? What were my parents thinking? Anybody else not like their name?

I agree with Bonnie on the explanation for tomorrow's school closing. I think that it may be a wise decision. This is such a new situation for all of us to deal with and the decisions that are being made are very important.

Wow!!! you are going to DISCON Jodie. I am so happy for you. I hope that everything works out for you. I wish that I could make it but with finances just starting to go back to normal and the fact that I have accepted a long term subbing position for 3 months, it would be bad of me to back out for even a few days.

However, the trip to Frankenmuth that Bonnie has suggested has some possibilities. Of course we need to plan it after the holidays and the winter weather. I am game to go up north to enjoy the Ya Ya's and Frankenmuth of course. Is anyone else interested in this trip?

Elaine, I have very little good to say about in laws. Don't you wonder sometimes how they and DH could possibly be related? I know I do. In laws are a major reason I want to move.

As for that DISCon thing. I'd just find a room and book it now before they are all gone (you can always cancel later). If you have an AP, you might get an excellent deal on a room. Good luck. The Swolphin rates are great if you are a nurse, doctor, teacher, gov't employee and okay if you have some kind of AAA or Entertainment club discount. None of us are official here for the DISCon thing and if you want to be official you have until the end of the month. I'll be at the Swan so if you want to be near by me that's a great pick Did I miss anything?

Okay Luis' brother is not a dork... but he is so not normal!!! It really truly does make me wonder how they all can be related at times Maybe he was adopted
