Good morning/afternoon everybody! Whew! It's taken me awhile to get to a point where I could check in with ya'll. I had to get up first thing this morning and take Cam in for a haircut and pick up the son of his hairdresser (his best bud) for a sleepover. Only problem: We got to the salon too late (yes...I'm basically late everywhere I go  ) so we had to reschedule the hair appt. Oh well, at least he has his bud with him for the weekend, so he's happy. :) They no longer go to the same school, so getting together is always a major event anymore.

The party went surprisingly well considering there was only 5 of us. The only reason I really even had it was to help out a friend. She's just recently started selling for this company and needed the exposure and experience. She did a WONDERFUL job demonstrating to total beginners and managed to sell over 60.00 in products to my Mom who doesn't even scrapbook. LOL! Either Patty is reeeealllly good, or my Mom is a big sucker. :teeth: Patty also got another lady psyched about getting started, so I think all in all it was a good evening. I think the best part was looking at everyone's pictures. :p I seriously considered printing out a few of my Apolo pics to take downstairs and work with, but thought the ladies might think I was a bit... off. :p See....the thing is, YOU guys KNOW I'm a bit off... the rest of the people in my world think I'm relatively normal. Poor misguided souls. They have noooo clue what's going on in my kinky little brain.

Jodie! You scrapbook!? Which party (company) did your friend go through? Last night was a Scrap in a Snap party. It's a small catalog, but I like the way they basically have the supplies for the layouts all put together for you....you buy a theme kit and voila, there's your layout. :)

Here's my question for the day: Why do teenage boys mumble??? Do teenage girls do it as much as guys do? It seems as though they don't, but then again I don't have a girl, so I don't know. Cam started the mumbling thing when the voice started changing. WHY do they do this?!? It drives me CRAZY!

Bonnie, Oh my. :( I wish I had wise and wonderful words of advice or encouragement for you... all I can think of is: That stinks. :) LOL! Big help huh? ;) Stressful situations at work can totally throw our entire groove off. I do hope all is resolved soon, and the conditions at work get back to a comfortable and happy place for you!

Oh, and I have to say Bonnie, you were the first person I thought of when I saw the FLP yesterday! ;)

I'm confused. Who got the Accord? I was all ready to congratulate Betty, but then Jay said it was Jennifer. I just noticed the other day, my WW car no longer has that new car smell. :( Guess I'm gonna have to trade it in. *Sigh* Either that, or buy another Yankee Car jar leather scent thingy. Hmmm.. that might be cheaper. It also has a rattle somewhere near the sunroof that's driving me insane.

Jennifer slept with us all huh?! Is that who was doing all that snoring last night?!? Hmmmm... well if we're all going to start having sleep overs together, I better go buy nicer pjs. Oh, and by the way... nobody touch my pillow!! ;)

Karen, Did DH give you that neck rub or did you go in for a massage? Geesh...I wish my ins. covered massages!!! :p

Long post. Sorry.

One last word. I refuse to accept the fact that this thread may someday die. *Fingers in ears....la la la la la la* We've got some looooong standing threads here on the CB.... I see no reason why this can't be just like them. Like Michele said, if it gets locked due to length, we can just start another. :teeth:

Kim, I think the mumbling is a boy/man thing. Dh can drive me nuts sometimes. Of course, him saying that I'm not listening doesn't help!:p

Well, I am off to get some lunch. Check back later!

I got the new car. Jay just made a mistake. Actually the car is going to be for DH but since he is driving to Florida today, we thought the break in should be around here with a variety of driving conditions. So I give it up at Thanksgiving.

Boys mumbling!!!! You will be glad to hear mumbling once they hit the 17-18 age. Then you can hear all about how you are ruining their life and their senior year of high school. Actually, I think it may be because of the voice change and the funny little voices that creep out at times. Or possibly you are getting older and hard of hearing (did I say that?)

Sounds like your party was a success and you had loads of fun. So what did you order?

Well today is gloomy and it is drizzling. DS and I went to book store to get a book about colleges. The book must be 6 inches thick. But we need to really get serious about those college apps. He still doesn't understand that we are not going to spend $25-35,000 per year for college. Goes back to ruining his life. The school counselor is filling these kids with ideas that there is so much financial aid that it will take care of everything. Reality will be hitting soon. So I am sitting here with this book and doing some homework. He has been to a college fair and is now completely confused and frustrated. Glad I am not in his shoes.

Anyone here seen Sweet Home Alabama? DD and I might go see the last matinee this evening.

Well hang in there everyone.

I agree, mumbling seems to be a man's thing. I can't count the number of times I have to tell my male family & friends to repeat themselves! The only female I know that mumbles is my sister, but she is deaf in one ear.

Okay pictures... you all bugged and bugged and bugged to see them so you get them. Last night's pics came out too dark (one today did too... front shot) so I didn't post them but today I have a decent shot of the front (still a little dark) but a good shot of the color in the second shot. So here they are... oh and I wanted straight hair today but look what I got

My hair stylist said that this color is one of her favorite shades of brown to use. It's just a very nice warm chocolate brown. Unfortunately I think I really like it... so I guess I will be going back for a while :teeth:

Luis likes it but being the man he is, he doesn't know much difference

Morning/afternoon Kim!
Yes, I scrapbook! The company most everybody uses around here is Creative Memories. I like their "fast ideas". Their motto is something like "get the scapbooks done!" I get frustrated if I try to get too fancy. I like to get the pictures in in an attractive way and spend more time on journalling. Imagine that...me liking to write!! I just ordered some calendar pages that fit into my scrapbook. When we go to Disney I can journal a little every day to keep track of what we are doing and fill in the pics when we get home. I have a vacation scrapbook filled with mostly Disney trips...anybody surprised?;) , and a Girl Scout troop scrapbook that I love (soon will start one for the cubs) and just started a 2001 family scrapbook. I got soooo confused because we started and ended the year with Disney trips and the pictures sort of blended together. Hmmm...maybe I will start a dis scrapbook and use the recaps for journaling!!:p
Cam is not mumbling you know. You are going deaf! It's what happens when you get OLD!!!:p That's what ds told me this week anyway!!!

Wow! We have been kinda quiet today! Guess lots of ya ya's are out of town. Did I complain too much about the recap taking too long?
:confused
I didn't mean it! Carry on with your insanity!!! It makes me nervous when you are this quiet!

Elaine your hair looks gorgeous...but it always does in the pics you post!! I do love the shade...nice and soft and warm! Thanks for posting and didn't mean to "bug".
Betty, good luck with the college headaches. My neighbor is going through that now too...doesn't look like much fun!
Gotta run to the grocery store and also check out the Disney store sale! I'll be back later tonight!! Ya'll keep chatting!!!:) Getting ever closer to page 100!!

You look GORGE Elaine-I would LOVE to have slight waves, I'm considering paying good money to put slight waves in my pin straight hair.

I feel a little moody-maybe the weather, or maybe it was Spirited Away-I don't know...just moody and pensive and dreamy...it's not a bad thing...;)

Don't want to be party pooper so I'll post again when I'm feelin' a little more perky...see ya later. :)

promised not to party-poop so I'll just edit to add: Just rereading-I feel terribly sad thinking about some of you losing your mothers and then rememering them at "Mom milestones", seeing parts of them in your children...it's sad and beautiful, so hugs to you all. I miss my Mom..oh!I mean she hasn't passed away...she's in NY...I'll call her later. See ya. :)

Im here Im here. I just napped for a bit to try and get rid of this stupid ole headache. Dh did rub my neck then I took Tylenol and laid down for awhile. Two hours later I woke from my nap ROFL!!! The headache is a bit better. Im trying to psych myself up to get into the kids room and clean it out. EEEK.

It is very neat to see my mom in my son. Its sort of like part of her is still here with me. I lost both mom and dad within a month four years ago right after my little guy was born. Took awhile but Im doing okay with it now. I smile when ds does something, says something, or has a look on his face that was moms.

EEEK bad memory time but someone asked what we do. I am an insurance coordinator, med tech, transcriptionist for a cardiology office. Yep a jack of all trades at the office.

Kim I am so glad your party went so well!!!

Elaine what NEATO pictures!! I LOVE the color. Thats the color my hair was before I went blonde. I love brown hair but with my gray and my pale skin coloring I decided to go to blonde. I got tired of everyone asking me if I was ILL because I was so pale ROFL.

Okay going into the boys room now. If you dont hear from me in two hours please send a search party....preferably hula hunks.

Elaine, I love that color on you. It is delicate. I also like the way it is angled by your face. You and my DD have the same texture of hair. She loves it when the salon dries her hair because they can make it so straight but when she tries it at home she gets the waves. I honestly like to see a little wave/body in hair because it makes it seem so healthy.

Karen, so sorry to hear that you lost your mom and dad so close together. It must have been hard.

I lost my mom suddenly, then 3 weeks later we found out that my dad's colon cancer had come back. He died around 15 months later and then 3 1/2 months after that one of my older brother's died suddenly. Wasn't a good time in my life. To top it off, DH got transferred to Texas the same week my brother died and we had just sold our house and were moving within the week into another. It took me quite a while to adjust to having no parents. Grieving process took some time. OK, I could get really tearry eyed talking about this because today is dreary and my birthday is coming up next month and I have never adjusted celebrating my birth without them. Something is just missing. Anyway, I just want to let you know that I am here if you ever have one of those days. It is nice to talk to someone who has experienced that kind of loss.

Betty thank you. There are times when it does get hard. Birthdays for me also are hard as are the anniversaries of their deaths and Christmas. I had my best Christmas since they passed last year when we were in Disney. I felt more calm and more happy than I have in years. I wish I could do that again this year but my coworker has Christmas week off this year. We were going to go up for NYE but Im not sure thats gonna happen moneywise. We have a Tday trip planned and we are also going up for the weekend of DisCon so we might not have enough moola to go a third time in less than a month.

Can you tell Im REALLY trying to avoid going in my kids room to clean it?? heheheheheheheehehe

Glad you all like the hair. I was smiling a lot when she was blow drying it last night. She was so much fun to talk to also. I was there about 3 hours so it was nice to have a fun person to talk to :) I am naturally a little darker than this, but I figured lighter was easier to deal with. Dark can get kind of depressing in the winter honestly. I just love the golden tones that are in it. She picked THE perfect color I think! I just told her about how dark I wanted it and she took over. I like the cut too. It goes back in a ponytail and a braid so I am happy :teeth:

I could never imagine losing parents so close together. It was hard enough to lose just the one, but both like that would have killed me I think. Karen I am glad that you said WDW was calming. I will be there just a few days before the anniversary of my mom's death and I am usually a basket case. I hope WDW will be the right "cure" for me :)

Elaine,
Love the color...that is just fabulous!! Don't you love it when your hair color just comes out perfect? That's why I don't think I would ditch my hairdresser even though I haven't really been happy lately with my hairstyle. Besides, who's to say that it isn't my fault?

Karen, I was just getting ready to send the hula hunks for you! You mean you haven't even gone in yet? :p
lvs_eeyore 30 -- CONGRATULATIONS!!

No place to procrastinate like the dis!!!
Too true, Jodie!! I think I am supposed to be cooking dinner now.

Betty, :( I'm sorry.

Well, I have to go, the little DIT are gettin restless for dinner!

Ive been cleaning just not the kids room. I finished the kitchen, I straightened the living room, got the sound back working on my computer, rehooked up the good mouse on my computer, hooked up the printer on the computer, swept the floor, went through the mail, Dised....dised some more. YES I admit it Im trying to AVOID going in there. Dh said he will help me with it tomorrow or later tonight.

Elaine Disney will be good for you and so will Kim and I. We will keep you so busy with fun and frivolity that you wont have time to think about it.

Always know that if you are having a tough time...and this goes for everyone....please PM me. I know what its like Ive been there.

Michele I have never had color come out this good and it is a good thing too because this was my first time going to that place. But my stylist made such a great impression on me that I know I will want to go back and use her for whenever I need something done :)

Karen, I think you will be right, Disney will be good for me. Between you & Kim and Dan I will be well taken care of and kept really busy. I am just looking forward to an acutal vacation!!!

Well my DH is leaning on me as a pillow so it is hard to type... more later :)

Just got back from shopping with the little ones. Did pretty good, didn't spend too much money! I bought those new Saran things that are like cutting boards but they absorb the juices. Should be interesting to see if they work. Have any of you used them?

Always know that if you are having a tough time...and this goes for everyone....please PM me. I know what its like Ive been there.
You're so sweet! What a friend!:)

Elaine Disney will be good for you and so will Kim and I. We will keep you so busy with fun and frivolity that you wont have time to think about it.
Don't forget about me! I would love to have some fun and frivolity with you all, too!

Yes, cleaning the kids room is a nightmare that I prefer to avoid! I will clean anywhere and everywhere else before I do their room!

Jeannie, you can tell us what is wrong. We will cheer you up!

Michele I am SO sorry. I knew someone else was meeting us and I couldnt remember who. Oh man with the three of us poor Elaine wont have a minute to think of anything but fun fun fun and frivolity!!! Dan will make it just that much more fun too! We are going to have a BLAST!!! I am sooooooooooo excited. Where is everyone staying?? We are at Port Orleans Riverside. I wanted to do the Swan but the price was too high even with a Fla Res Discount.

Elaine it is always wonderful when you get a stylist like that. Make sure she has your phone number or a way to reach you in case she ever leaves the shop. Thank goodness mine did because she did leave the shop and I had her cell phone number so I called her and asked where she was LOL. The color looks so beautiful on you and the cut is wonderful!

That is so true about giving the sylist your phone number! Fortunately, I knew my lady was going to open her own place, so I never missed anything. But...now I just can't afford to get my haircut and colored when I am supposed to.

Um...as far as where I'll be during discon. Hmmmm....let's see....HOME!:p Yes...I can't wait what fun. And Dan...I would love to meet him!!

Where is everyone? Did people go away this weekend?

Jeannie, I am such a dork today... I forgot to tell you that friends are around to listen in good and bad times so if you ever want to talk we are here to listen :)

Michele, you know I wrote that and then dinner came. I realized just now that I forgot to add you and came in to edit but you had already seen it  So yes, you Kim, Karen and a whole bunch of people I will see will keep me busy I know. Sometimes I wonder where I will find the time to do everything towards the end of the trip! At least I know for the first day I won't be so terribly busy and right now only have one meet planned :)

I will be staying at the Swan :) This is the first vacation (besides little trips to Chicago) that I will have gone on since my honeymoon so I figured I could go with the good rates I found a while back ;)

Karen, I will have ot let her know that if she ever leaves to call me. To have someone who listened to what I wanted and gave me what I wanted was great. Hopefully she won't leave there anytime soon though because that place also has an excellent spa facility and sometime I will have to make a day out of it ;) I was just so worried going in there because I was afraid that someone would just do to my hair more of what they like than what I like... but that sure didn't happen at all :)
