Im back. The surgery went well. The cyst was a LOT bigger than they thought. He was kind enough to show it to me UGH. I did pretty okay except my sugar level dropped because they were 1.5 hours late starting and I got really upset and aggitated. Then they informed me that I had to have an IV and was going to be sedated. I almost walked out right there and then. I litterally got out of the bed and said IM OUTTA HERE. Thankfully my dh was there and calmed me down. They ended up putting in the IV but no sedation. Actually this was a good thing because they needed to give me something for my sugar level and had they sedated me at all as much as that anesthetic hurt I would have ended up ripping the needle right out of the doctors hand. I almost did anyway and I was in total control. Felt like the doc put a branding iron up to my cheek and eye it hurt so badly. Its over now and doesnt hurt that much.....of course Im still somewhat numb and Im sporting a 2.5 inch up and down incision on my face which must be kept open to the air. Looks NASTY. I have to go back in a week to get the sutures taken out. I just hope this doesnt scar. He did it up and down so that it would hopefully fall into the smile lines in my face.

My youngest keeps coming up....looking at my cheek and sayin Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!

Betty, If I tell you that Emily (the 4 year old) knows all the words to time warp, would that give you an idea of my answer?
It's true!!! (She's never seen the movie though.) Paige has seen parts of it, and I have to agree with your style of parenting. If they want to see something I say, don't leave them curious, but monitor whatever it is and give explaination where neseccary. Does that make sense? The only thing that I censor when it comes to PAige is violence. Especially "in the news" violence. She has a good grasp on sex and inuendo, and what is "adult humor", but violence is a little too brutal (for any of us.) I would love to go with my kids to RHPS!!! I think it would be a blast. I would especially love it if they thought I was still cool enough to go with them

I'm re-reading your question and it sounds like you are only asking IF you should take them, not if Allison should go alone. Is that right? If so I say.....Have a blast!!!!!!!

How you feeling now Bettty, any worse? I hope not. I haven't gotten over to the cb "proper" all day. I post here, click over and then get distracted....Can't wait for bed time so I can catch up with the rest of the dis!!!

Did any of you see the article/news about the latest use for duct tape? It seems that using duct tape on warts is at least as effective as liquid nitrogen, and usually more effective.

Bad day at work today, so I don't know that I will be around much tonight. Don't want to bring you all down with my not so hot mood.

Jodie, be careful. It seems the sniper is getting more brazen. I hope he never even makes it to jail. There are times when a lynch mob seems like the most efficient and fair way to handle these things.

Don't get all starry eyed about my DH and DD. Just because they clean the house once every 10 years doesn't make them all that sweet. Now when they both learn to pick up after themselves, we can talk.

Betty, I think our daughters are related. She drives me crazy with the still folded clothes in the hamper. I always have to rewash them, because of course after being in the hamper, they smell bad.

I have never seen RHPS either, but from what I have seen Betty, you have some excellent parenting instincts. Go with your gut, and forget everyone else.

DH went fishing at 6 am this morning on Lake Erie and still isn't back. I'm starting to get worried.

Betty, I don't see anything wrong with taking your kids to see Rocky Horror. It is a one of a kind experience. I don't know how old DD is, but it sounds like either your son would go with friends (he would be old enough to get in without you) or you are going as a family? I think there are alot worse movies out there than a campy horror flick (that happens to have my favorite all time best concert ever, Meatloaf in it). Like Jeannie said, you know your family best...

DH went fishing at 6 am this morning on Lake Erie and still isn't back. I'm starting to get worried.

Laundry pet peeves? That I had to do it. Yep, washed 2 loads today & cleaned the kitchen. I'd rather not do laundry, but figure it's cheaper than buying new clothes over and over again. Same with dishes.

Evening everyone! Boy do I feel behind still... I just can't seem to get caught up in general after this weekend. Who knows what my problem is.

Well today I made plans for my first day at WDW and I am thrilled. I think it is going to be a great time and I look forward to seeing everyone that I can! UGH... now I am going to go back a few pages and see what I've missed.

Karen, I am glad to hear that your surgery went as well as it did. I too hope that it doesn't scar up too much for you. I do look forward to seeing you down at DISCon as well! I get better with meeting people as time goes on I must admit. If I am around a few people I am comfortable with it is easy for me. So hopefully I won't be too shy around you but just in case we can be shy together. Now why I was scared to meet Dan, I have no idea. It's not like we hadn't talked on the phone before or gotten to know each other fairly well... I am just chicken sometimes I think

Jennifer you are such a crafty person... to be redecorating Paige's room AND making it yourself! I envy you!

Betty! No getting sick! We've had toooo much of that around here lately. How ya feeling?? About RHPS... I'm afraid I can't offer much of an opinion either. I saw it once ages ago, and really can't remember much about it other than some of the music, toast flying at the screen, water squirting everywhere etc. I would just have to tell you what everyone here has more or less already said... go with your heart. Big help huh?

Okay... Well, that certainly is a rather different picture of her. But look at those pearly white teeth! Sigh.... She's even cute when she's screaming. Now I just wonder *why* she's screaming.

Karen, my fingers are crossed that you don't have any scarring. I have slight scars on my back & my stomach from my surgery last year, but they're almost gone (they'll disappear soon). Then again, those incisions were like 6-8 inches long each. Just more of a reason to keep my shirt on, I guess. I bet you do better than me.

I hope everyone is having a good evening so far.

Think of me as I'm slaving away here at work. Well, at work here at home.... At least I can watch the Stars play while I try to be productive.

Working really hard are you Jay?

My night is pretty quiet. I think Emily is feeling much better. I sent her up to bed and when I got there her feet were sticking out of her covers WHERE HER HEAD SHOULD BE!!!! To weird!!!! Then while I was reading she was stroking my bangs I have know idea what that was about!!!

So, Jodie's little package goes out tomorrow (or Thursday if I can't get my butt out of the house tomorrow) Kimmie gave me some good ideas....still looking for more!!!!!

Karen, so glad that your surgery is over. Thought about you during the day.

As for Rocky Horror I am not sure what to do. The other thread has mentioned that the participants get very vulger and do some strange things. They talk like it is stranger than the movie. I knew about the rice throwing, water gun and newspaper stuff, (thought it would be fun) but I am being told that the audience gets way too vulger. Not sure if I would want to see that myself. I guess I just want to be sure that things are not acted out (homosexual and heterosexual scenes) too realistically in person.

Yes, I believe that if DS, age 17, wants to go with friends then he is old enough to go with them but I know that he would not want little sister tagging along. Don't think that they would let her in any way. I am too lazy to go find VHS and see if the rating is PG-13 or R. Anyway, I will have to give this more thought. Maybe it will be another year of watching it downstairs with surround sound.

The chorus concert was awesome! Another proud mommy moment. Actually thought DS was proud also.

I am still not feeling really well. My throat is scratchy and the drainage is annoying. I will drinking lots of orange juice. Did I mention the sneezing. I have had way too many close calls of not knowing if I was going to sneeze or cough. Don't know that it really helps but that and having chicken noodle soup was what my mom always gave me to feel better.

Jeannie, do you really want this thread to end? Not me, I have really enjoyed meeting with my Ya Ya DISerhood buddies (can't call us girls because we have Jay) He is so brave coming to a thread like this. We scared Willy J off in just one night.
