Sherry, do you think we could request each other for the YC exchange? DH said I could do it. Now, before you flame me about asking DH, I took a $16K paycut when they eliminated my job. But......time spent with kids (and DISing) priceless.
Are you posting on the survivor thread too? Did you see on the previews that something "bad" happens. They were giving the tribes like 60 seconds to decide something.

Now, a have a favor to ask of the Diserhood. DH is a police officer and he has always dreamed about becoming a K-9 officer. Two spots opened up this week. Could you keep him in your thoughts/prayers/pixie dust for me? He has put in for every single spot and has always come up second. Thanks!

Good news!! I got the results of my cholesterol test. It is down from 274 to 225 and my bad (ldl?) is down from 160 to 129. YYYYEEEESSSS!!!!

She has a virus that looks like strep, acts like strep, but is NOT strep, so there are no meds Kinda wish it was strep, then we could treat it!!! Just a lot of mommying to be done. Hey gang. Well, no campout for us this weekend so I will be around afterall. I am feeling a little low about things right now and I need to get the kids some dinner so I can't catch up on all the news I've missed until later. It seems all of this sniper anxiety has filtered down to Richmond. Some of my parents were not comfortable with me taking the girls away for the weekend when all of the schools in this area have cancelled all outdoor activiites for this weekend due to the sniper. There was also an incident at my dd's middle school today...one of her friends saw a strange man outside on her way to class. He smiled at her and then reached behind him...the poor kid totally freaked and ran screaming back into the school saying she had seen the sniper...Yikes! Panic quickly spread through the school and the principal announced over the PA that it was just a rumor...nothing had happened. In the next breath he announced the school was locked down!!!! He posted policemen at two doors so the kids in trailers could get to class and other than that no one could leave!! The police were also stopping white vans and searching them on the highway just outside of the school. This guy has got to be found!!!
So now I have a house full of camp stuff and coolers full of food and craft stuff to keep an army's worth of kids busy for the weekend!! All of that work..... Sigh...... See ya'll later.

Oh Jodie! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this mess. I've been thinking about you all day, wondering how close you were to all of this, and I haven't been able to get on here long enough to check on you. Guess you're being forced into recharging those batteries of yours after all...but what a lousy way to do it. God, I just pray this all ends and ends SOON!

Jennifer, It's good to hear it's nothing serious with Emily. One time, Cam had a nasty little virus with a temp. that kept spiking. We took him in to ER...they determined that it was just your run of the mill bug, and recommended that if the temp. got "too high" we could alternate/overlap Motrin and Tylenol. In other words, two hours after the Tylenol, we would give him Motrin. Most of the time, I try to let a fever run it's course, but it was nice to know this little trick in the event that the fever got too high. Where one alone didn't seem to help, overlapping them for a couple of doses, did make a world of difference.

Done police pixie dust on the way!!!! My brother is a leutienent in our sheriff's department. SWAT team too. Makes me nervous. Once he was shot at by a barricaded gun man because he and his partner were throwing snowballs at the window to get his attention The stupid negotiators idea .

I hope your weekend is quite at the hospital Bonnie!!! Is it a full moon this weekend? I've been around hospitals all my life (through people that work there, not personally admitted) and almost everyone I've talked to believes the full moon theory. Happened to me when I gave birth to Emily. Friday the thirteenth and a full moon. The labor and delivery was so full women were giving bith in operating rooms. (Almost had Emily BEFORE I got to a room, but that's a different story.)

Jodie, so sad that the sniper has had the negative effect on your campout but I would rather be safe than sorry. But, do you have the ingredients for s'mores packed away in those camping boxes. I have heard that chocolate bars and marshmellows go bad if you don't eat them right away. So I will have to sacrifice my blood sugar going up and help you get rid of the perishables.

Thanks for all the well wishes for DH. I really hope he gets it this time. SWAT, huh. I bet HE loves that!! DH used to be on the Airport Containment Team (airport SWAT). Nothing major ever happened though. Now he went to tactical unit....that's a different story. So, either he gets K9 or goes back to tac. YUK!! Please K9!!

Mmmmm.....kahlua/vanilla ice cream/choc. syrup smoothies! And if i ever needed a double tonight's the night!! Thanks Lucy!! Dream walks sneakily to the bourbon slushie table and sneaks one of those too..thanks Betty! Such an odd night here. I keep looking at the clock and thinking, "We would be doing this now or that now". STINK!!! And as much as I am trying to convince myself that this guy is way the heck far from here I can't help feeling edgy. The kids are sleeping in our room tonight scared to death. I had not told them about any of this...we only watch the news after they go to sleep...so it's hitting them kind of hard...and personally. We had all looked so forward to this campout. The girls are all coming over tomorrow for a few hours to eat some of this food and to get a meeting in anyway. Three guesses what a lot of our discussions will be about. It's tough to be a "carefree kid" in these nasty times. Hopefully the sun will come out and we can do some of the crafts we had planned. C'mon over Jennifer! There's plenty of craft stuff for you! We are trapping spider webs and painting nature scenes on canvas, playing with constellation boxes and making "invention bags"

Ok, to distract you....you can tell me, what is an invention bag!!! Sounds so cool!!! I want to do it and I don't even know what it is yet!!! Did I tell you with all this NASA knowledge I want to share with my girls we are going to go ahead and do a Junior Badge? We earned our Space Explorer try it last year so I thought this would be a fun way to fufill one of our bridging requirements. If you ever do space with your troop let me know I have some awsome links with great activities!!!!

Allison also read Tuck Everlasting a few years ago. I really enjoyed the movie and the casting was great. Although I didn't realize the mother was Amy Irving until the credits came on. She looked famliar but I couldn't place her.

While we are sharing tonight. A boy in DS's class committed suicide at one of the elementary schools. They found his body this morning. Chris was real upset. He said the kid was a skater type but one of the nice ones. He went to vocational school last year and came back to high school this year. We knew that the police were looking for him last night because they knew he had a gun but the neighbors were told everything was OK. He lived across the street from DS's girlfriend. Gee, it really seems that our neighborhood is having a run a bad luck. It is so unusual because this is one of the lowest crime areas around. It can happen anywhere.
