The Disney Gift Cards at Sam's Club

I've done a search for my answer, but I didn't see it so I'll post...

Sam's Club has new Disney Gift cards (the hubby says they're $75 now and come with a vinylmation pen)...

My question is: Could we use the Disney gift card at any of the shops in Downtown Disney?

My thoughts are, anything that would accept the DDP, like Raglan Road and the gift shops, would... am I correct?

The hubs is doubtful and doesn't understand why I want to 'pre-pay' for some things when we could use the credit card (which we would pay in full once we're home).

I haven't seen the $75.00 cards, but our Sam's Club has $100 Disney GCs for $98+ change. That is the one most often mentioned here. They come with a free $10 Disney Store GC as a bonus. The $10 Disney Store GC is only good at DisneyStore.com and Disney Store locations (NOT at WDW or any shop at WDW). If you buy things at a Disney Store or DS.com, then purchasing this card is giving you a +10% return on investment. If you don't buy merchandise from Disney Store, then it might not be worth it for you.

If your Sams still has the $100.00 GCs you might want to get them while they have some left. Our Sams had them last week and this week they switched them to the $75.00 GCs with the pins..(I personally wish they still had the $10.00 free gift cards.)

I ended up going to the Disney Store at a local mall and asked one of the sales reps. Basically, from my understanding, the Disney Gift Card is accepted anywhere except at the Rainforest Café.

When DH finally listened, we bought a $100 gift card for the trip and will probably load more money on it once we're done with our Christmas shopping.
