The "Disney Freak" & her "Freak in Training!" A Nov. 2012 1st ever Pre-Trip

Hi. Your daughter is so cute, love the picture with Pooh. You are so lucky to live so close to WDW. Sounds like you have some great plans for your trip. Love your choice of resort, POR is my favorite moderate. I think that there are more corner rooms in the AB section, but what a bonus if you get one in the Mansion section. Way to go with getting the discount on the room! We always go to see Bob in the lounge, and this upcoming trip will be the same. He has such a fun, family friendly show.:goodvibes
Just wanted to let you know that while we love to go to Kona, the Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks is the same. You do not get the Strawberry Compote but it is really good with syrup too. We think it is worth it for the discount on the meal. We like to sit outside if the weather is nice. Coming from WI our motto is always, if you can eat outside do it!:cool1:
Your park plans sound like fun, we don't tend to do a lot of TS meals, so I can't comment too much on your meal choices. I am hoping for low crowds, and warmer weather, we usually go at this time of year, and do remember how cold it was in 2010. I wore a scarf, and gloves, when touring the parks on some nights! Crazy.....
Love your picture of the tree at the CR, and the CM putting the snow on the tree. :santa:The Christmas decorations are one of the reasons we try to go at this time of year.:santa: Do you plan on doing a monorail ride to see everything? The GF and the gingerbread house are our favorite, WL is a close second. So easy to see the resorts when you have a car to get around too!

I have been severely neglecting my TR as of late... Should probably update it a bit since we are leaving in a week! Woo Hoo!!! :cool1:

Thanks for the tip on the Tonga Toast at Captain Cook's! I think I need to fit that in! I have made a lot of changes to our dining since my last update. We have cut back on the TS meals. Decided we'd rather have more time to play. We will probably just monorail hop through the MK resorts Saturday and/or Sunday when we don't have major park plans. We are also going to check out Y&B Club resorts on our rest day Wednesday. I love the decorations at WL too. We canceled our WCC reservation so we probably won't get to see those this trip. I see you are arriving a few days after us. I'm hoping for cool but not cold temps. Really don't want to do the scarves and gloves thing.

Day 7 plan - Animal Kingdom
Actually Day 8 since we added a day!!

Today is our last day and I have been avoiding writing this day of the TR. It makes me feel sad to think the trip does have to come to an end. I'm reminding myself that I'm not actually there yet so technically this should not make me sad!!! :sad2:

I plan to have most of our stuff packed and loaded in the car the night before so we might be able to make rope drop at AK today. For us it will be straight to EE for as many rides as we feel like and a Fastpass for later. A nice view from the top of EE...

DH & DD getting ready to ride EE. DD is a daredevil from a very early age. Not afraid of any ride. This was her very first ride during the AP preview of EE when it first opened. She was 5.

Then we will head off to the Safari. DD loves this attraction and always insists on taking numerous pictures of every animal from every angle. So for future reference if you need a pic of the Safari, I have it!

Festival of the Lion King is always a must do for us. DD likes to pick the giraffe section and then tries to get picked to help make the sound of her section's animal. A lot of people have no idea what sound a giraffe makes but DD loves to get chosen and tell the performer that it Baa's like a sheep! :)

Another thing we like to do at this park is explore all the pathways around The Tree of Life. I think a lot of people miss these and it's too bad because there is a lot to see. There are animal exhibits all through there and it gives you the opportunity to get really close to the tree to see all of the intricate carvings.

Hopefully we will catch the Nemo show this trip too. We haven't seen it in years. Once we have finished at AK we will probably head over to MK just to say goodbye. I usually need a castle fix right before leaving on any trip. I guess I shouldn't be all that sad since we are getting to come back in January with my parents. However, this is the trip that I have planned for so long and is a much needed break for us as a family. So... I'm looking forward to it the most and I am having a hard time saying goodbye to it.

But enough of that sappy nonsense we haven't even arrived yet!!! Woo Hoo! :yay:

For now that is the end of my actual daily plans for our trip. I will update a few times this week before we leave.
:dance3:

Perfect to end your trip at MK. We have missed the AK on the previous two trips, but are looking forward to going on the upcoming trip. Heard Lion King show will be ending, so we need to see it again before that happens.

I am in official super stressed mode! We leave in 3 days! How is this possible??? I never thought this trip would ever get here when we decided back in January to do it. It seemed soooo far off. Yet, here we are! I'm almost afraid for Saturday to get here because then the planning is done and it's time. Oh NO... then the trip will be over and then what will I do with all my free time???? LOL!!! Is it crazy to be so excited to go but at the same time wish there was a little time left so I could savor this a bit longer??? I know, I know... I'm NUTS!!!!
