The Disney Cruises to Alaska

My dad REALLY wants to do an Alaskan cruise. Now, he doesn't want to do any other cruises, but he perked right up when I told him about this one. Would love to hear from people who have taken Alasken cruises before - what you liked, what you didn't like, etc.

Since the cruise will leave from British Columbia, I'm assuming you will have to have a passport? Do you think Disney will offer packages that include hotel accomodations the night before and transfers to the port? I'm just trying to wrap my head around the whole thing.

There are alot of threads over in the cruise forum. I was really excited for DCL going to Alaska. Even got my name on the waiting list to book thru DU. I've never cruised. MY DH and I would love to go to Alaska. He said that he would never cruise unless it was to Alaska. I always said my first cruise has to be DCL. Sounds perfect.

Then I start reading all of the threads in the cruise section. The price that Disney mentioned is going to be for a cat. 11 or 12. At first, I was okay with this. Who wants to stay in their room? Well I decided that I want to see outside because that's what I'm paying for - the view. Then I started thinking about all of the excursions and costs. Anyways, lots to think about. We've decided to wait and save up for a big trip. We will probably go with another cruise line so we can have a veranda, do lots more excursions, and maybe some spend time in Alaska and Canada.
