The Disney Adventures of Scooter Mom-Dining Report-9/7-9/14 (complete)

Excellent update!

I love Mexican food and have never been to La Cantina and really, really want to go. I'm not sure if we'll make it on our next trip, though, because of all the F&W offerings.

And I don't blame you a bit. We are missing Food and Wine this year and I hate having to do that. F&W is something I really enjoy, so take lots of photos for me so I can live vicariously through you !!

Next time you do get the chance, though, I highly recommend La Cantina De San Angel !!

Breakfast at Roaring Forks

And this is what he got: scrambled eggs, hash browns and a piece of bacon. I thought I had gotten a photo, but I can’t find it now.

Anyway, they were clearly confused about what a Bounty Platter was. I asked him if he wanted me to fly up there on my broomstick and handle it, but he said to not bother, that this was plenty and the kids wouldn’t eat all theirs, so he would finish their food up. If we had paid OOP for this, however, I would have straightened that out. Just sayin’.

Gee thanks ! I was reading this at my desk, and promptly spit out the drink of milk that I had just taken all over my computer monitor :rotfl2: !!! I am enjoying your trippie; I love your writing style ! Am looking forward to reading the rest of it ! Hope that the healing is going well.

I'll try! I'm still new at this whole DR thing!

:welcome: Leslie !! Thanks so much for reading !! Haha !! Sorry about your messy computer, but I am glad I got a giggle out of you. :rotfl: Thanks for taking the time to say hello !!

Mmmmm....those tacos look so good, and so do the churros. We will definitely have to try both of those on our next trip.

Hope you are healing quickly. :goodvibes

They really were good. Part of me was thinking they might taste better with some lettuce and sour cream and all of that stuff, but then I discovered that their simplicity was part of what made them so good. Just meat and tortilla. It is all it really needed to be.

I am slowly healing, thank you. I get my splint off tomorrow and then a cast will be applied which will remain for two months. So, still a while before I am mobile.

Dinner at AoA Landscape of Flavors

I rested until dinner time and we all got ready and went over to the Art of Animation resort to check things out over there and have dinner at their food court Landscape of Flavors

DS wasn’t feeling well for some reason. He had a headache all of a sudden, so I was kinda worried about him.

Each of wanted something from a different bay, so that was a juggle. DD got pizza

DSC04583.jpg

It was pretty good pizza and it came with a nice side Caeser salad
I really went outside the box and ordered DH and I Mongolian Stir Fry with basamati rice and acorn squash. It came with Naan bread.

DSC04584.jpg

OK. I am going to break this down for you. DH and I both liked the beef stir fry. It had a good savory flavor. The rice didn’t seem like it was cooked all of the way. It was kinda crunchy, so the texture was off-putting. The acorn squash was very blah. My mom used to make it with butter and brown sugar and this just didn’t have any flavor at all to me. I really like the Naan bread, but DH wasn’t into it.

So we would try something else next time.

DS ordered a cheeseburger

DSC04585.jpg

He was feeling very bad, though and only managed a few bites. Then he went back to the car to lay down. I had a bite or two of his burger and it was really good. DH finished it up.

For dessert, the kids got cupcakes

DSC04588.jpg

DSC04590.jpg

DD ate hers but we took DS’s back with us.

DH and I got this little Chocolate Ganache cake thingy.

DSC04589.jpg

This was super yummy. It was very rich and chocolate-y. And it’s Mickey shaped. And we all know that makes everything taste better !!

great trip report so far! we are trying out capt. cooks in 1 month and 20 days!!! WPE is our favorite QS and i'm trying the meatloaf sandwich on one of our trips there, we usually go there 3 times. we usually get the pizzas. we love the CHH too! it never disappoints. keep um comin!!

Love your AoA review! I love how Disney manages to offer "traditional" pizza and burger faire with outside-the-box stuff like the mongolian dish. Really really nice.

I liked it, too. We will just try something different next time. Our meal wasn't that great. But the main stream stuff the kids got tasted really good !!

Sorry your dish at LoF wasn't amazing. I worry about their ability to handle the crowds at a reasonable speed, while simultaneously offering fresh, well-prepared food. Hopefully they'll be able to adapt, now that the resort is fully open. :)

It was just the rice and the squash that wasn't good. Everything else was great !! Especially that ganache Mickey cake. I want another one of those with a nice hot cup of coffee. We loved the resort overall though !!

I agree the quick service in Mexico is quite good, I love their chips and salsa there. Great review of AOA, I haven't been there yet, but it looks so darn cute.

DH was very frustrated with the computer ordering system.

DD got the kids chicken and French fries

DSC04665.jpg

Which apparently came with carrots instead.

DS ordered a hamburger

DSC04668.jpg

And DH and I split the

Aloha Pork Sandwich.

DSC04666.jpg

This was soooo good !!

Aloha Pork Sandwich - Pulled pork with BBQ sauce, pineapple cole slaw, cheddar cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes, served warm on a pineapple-coconut hoagie roll. Served with Polynesian chips. - $8.99
DH got French fries. I prefer the homemade chips. Anyway this sandwich is soooooo good. The combination of savory pork, gooey cheese and crunchy veggies is out of this world yummo !!

LOVED it !!

The kids got ice cream for dessert

DSC04669.jpg

And DH and I got the heavenly Dole Whip

DSC04667.jpg

Love this stuff !!!

Bellies full, we went to check out the lobby to check out the gift shop,

Yum - I really like Captain Cook's, and that pork sandwich is definitely on my radar now. Agreed that dole whips are awesome. ;)

You need to try it !!! It is REALLY good !! I admit that the Dole Whips lured me over there, but the Aloha Pork sandwich was a surprise winner. And I am not sharing next time !! I just love those Dole Whips. I haven't tried the floats, but I really love it plain. I'm not sharing that next time either !!

Candy from Mickey's not so scary Halloween Party.

It was all really good candy. We had a great time at the party !!

Breakfast at Roaring Forks - Again

DH and I both got the Croissant Breakfast Sandwich

DSC04813.jpg

It was good as always.

DD went with her favorite of Mickey Waffles

DSC04814.jpg

And DS went with his current standby of pancakes

DSC04815.jpg

We really enjoyed our breakfasts at Roaring Forks. Everything was fresh, warm and tasty. Being the creatures of habit we are, we ate this same meal again.

How did I miss your previous update?! Your Capitan Cook's and MNSSHP reviews look so good!

I really want to try Roaring Forks as well, but we'll see if that happens on this trip.
