They saw DD’s Birthday button and gave her a Mickey straw.

DH, DS and I got a shrimp platter

Fried Shrimp Basket - Served with cole slaw and steamed fresh broccoli, or French Fries $9.99

This is a lot of shrimp. Something like 8 pieces. Very tasty.

DD got Chicken and French Fries

Chicken Breast Nuggets (8 pieces) - Served with steamed fresh broccoli or French Fries or Apple Slices $8.19

DH and I got apple crisp for dessert.

DSC04459.jpg

Well they called it apple crisp anyway. The need to call it apple pie or apple tart. Because it isn’t apple crisp. But I liked it. Very good !! DH said it could have used a scoop of vanilla, but I thought it was good.

DS wasn’t feeling like dessert so he didn’t get any.

DD got some chocolate cake.

Which she really enjoyed.

Here DS is making fun of me being old and crippled while I am trying to impress him with my mad scooter skillz.

Glad you had a good meal at CHH - it's one of my favorite CS locations in MK. :goodvibes And the picture at the end is quite funny

Thanks !!! I always mean to get the salmon and eat something healthier, but I always tend to go back to what has worked for me in the past. I really love their shrimp there !!

CHH is one of my favorite CS. I always get the tuna sandwich and try and sit upstairs to see out the windows.

My DS15 would be doing the same thing if I was in a scooter too! :rotfl2:

I have no doubt Devin would be laughing at me on a scooter too. As it is he thinks the boot is hysterical!!

I hate that black boot. It was always pressing up against the most painful part of my injury.

We like to eat upstairs, but I couldn't get up there so we didn't. We went early enough though so finding a place to sit wasn't a problem. Although the Cm at the front of the restaurant directed us to the handicap section which contained two screaming toddlers. We were like. "um, no thanks. We will take this spot right here." It was much more peaceful.

My DS was always the first one to hop INTO the scooter when I got out of it. He was more jealous of my ride than anything !!!

I love the picture of your son making fun of the scooter. My first thought was he was just so jealous. I know I was thinking of hitching a ride on a scooter a couple times at the end of the night in the parks.

I also hated the boot. My daughters friends wanted to bedazzle it for me to cheer me up but I didn't wear it more than I did. I thought it caused more problems than it helped. My back, good knee, basically everything ached from walking with a stiff, taller leg. I found the rocking type exercise sneakers were great for leveling you out at least.

I hope you are doing very well after your surgery. Hopefully you will be better and getting around easily soon!

The one good thing about that scooter is my feet weren't killing me at the end of the trip.

I saw a lady with a boot while we were there and she had hers all bedazzled. And I have to say, it was cute. So if I had ever actually worn the boot, then I would have so let someone bedazzle it for me.

Post-op has been difficult. Painful and uncomfortable. I am on bed rest for another week and then in a hard cast for two months after that. Non weight bearing. So it looks like I won't be walking until almost Christmas. Thanks for thinking of me !!

Just got caught up on your reviews, Susan! Those CHH shrimp look delicious. :thumbsup2 Looking forward to reading more! :surfweb:

Just caught up!

I'm sorry roaring forks messed up your order, but your meals at Caseys (even though I, personally, am not much of a hot dog fan) and CHH look great!

Yes, clearly that person was unaware of what a Bounty Platter was !! Everything was good. We did miss the TS meals, though.

Bedazzling? I never thought of that. I'm totally doing that if they make me wear it longer! And mine is a lovely silver grey so DH gets to call it a space boot!

Yes !!! You need to bust out the bedazzler and put some sparkle on it !!

Lunch at La Cantina De San Angel

I was excited about this meal as I LOVE Mexican food and I have always wanted to eat here. We have always steered clear because we weren't sure the kids would like it. So we went in letting them know that if they couldn't find something they liked, we would get something from somewhere else for them to eat.

(I borrowed the next three photos from the Disney Food Blog. It wasn’t this crowded when we went there).

Seating Area – it was a very pretty day and we didn’t mind sitting outside at all.

DH ordered the Chicken Tacos

Tacos de Pollo - grilled chicken served on fresh handmade corn tortillas with Pico de Gallo, lime and corn tortilla chips $10.99

I ordered the Beef Tacos

Tacos de Carne - smoked beef brisket tacos served on fresh handmade corn tortillas with Pico de Gallo, lime and corn tortilla chips $11.99

DSC04558.jpg

Both of us really enjoyed our entrees. Lots of flavor in both dishes. DH sampled some salsa verde as well. He had just returned from Mexico the week before and he said the food here was the same as the food he ate while in Mexico.

The kids both got Nachos with just cheese.

DSC04561.jpg

These were huge !! Each of them only managed to finish half even with help from DH and myself. If we weren’t on the DDP, we would have gotten them these to share. The cheese was really good though. Nice and thick, but with just a little heat in it.

I saw a plate of these on a nearby table with everything on them and they looked delicious. DH and I could easily split them and have plenty to eat, so we might do that one day.

For dessert, everyone got churros

Churros con Cajeta - Churros with milk caramel $3.99

DSC04560.jpg

DS really liked these. To me, they were good, but too sweet for me at the time. Very tasty though and I liked the caramel sauce as well.

So this meal was a winner for us and we will definitely go back again.

Excellent update!

I love Mexican food and have never been to La Cantina and really, really want to go. I'm not sure if we'll make it on our next trip, though, because of all the F&W offerings.
