:welcome: So glad to have you along for this one, too !! I love the meatloaf there. It never disappoints !!

Thanks so much for the well wishes. It will take a while to recover (about 3 months), but I have my DIS pals to keep me company !! :lovestruc

I'm enjoying reading your reviews! I hope your surgery goes well tomorrow and that the pain is not too bad. :flower3:

:welcome: Hey !! Thanks so much for stopping by and the well wishes !! I hope the pain is manageable and that they give me lots of good pills !!:lmao::rotfl:

Scooter question for you...did you rent one there or use an outside company? Did you use Disney transportation everywhere? You can PM me if you'd rather not fill up your thread with my curiosity!!

I am sorry Denise, I didn't mean to ignore you. I don't know how I missed this post. You must have posted the same time I did and that is why I missed it. I rented from Apple Scooter. If you rent at the parks, you can ONLY use it in the park and it is $50 a day and it is first come first serve. With the off site rental, they bring it to your resort for you and you keep with you all of the time and not just at the parks. It was $133 for the whole week. I had a problem with the battery and I was very pleased with their prompt and friendly service.

We used the buses some and used our car as well. I was even able to ride the boat over to MK from WL.

The scooter was lots of fun and it really made my trip. If you have any kind of trouble physically and have a trip planned, I highly recommend renting a scooter.

Thinking of you this morning! Hope its not too bad...

Thank you so much for thinking of me. I am having a very rough morning. The DIS is helping me stay distracted though.

Breakfast at Roaring Forks

We got up early – about 7:30 AM and headed down to Roaring Forks for breakfast.

DH ordered a Bounty Platter

Bounty Platter - with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes and a biscuit $8.29

And this is what he got: scrambled eggs, hash browns and a piece of bacon. I thought I had gotten a photo, but I can’t find it now.

Anyway, they were clearly confused about what a Bounty Platter was. I asked him if he wanted me to fly up there on my broomstick and handle it, but he said to not bother, that this was plenty and the kids wouldn’t eat all theirs, so he would finish their food up. If we had paid OOP for this, however, I would have straightened that out. Just sayin’.

DS ordered Pancakes

Pancakes - served with bacon $5.19

I think he might have gotten them to switch the bacon out for hash browns because this is what he ate.

These were good pancakes and the hash browns were good, too. I like them crunchier and we added salt and pepper to them, but they were pretty good.

DD got her some Mickey waffles.

They made these while we waited, so they were very fresh and yummy. DD gobbled them right up.

I had

Bacon, Egg and Cheese Croissant Sandwich $5.99

It came with hash browns and it was very good and filling. And I had it again a couple more times throughout the week. Very good breakfast.

Thanks !! Yesterday was a vary bad day. Today is MUCH better thank goodness. Just trying to stay ahead of the pain !!

I hope you do well with it! My mother taught me a long time ago when it comes to surgery - if the meds say every four hours then take them every 3 1/2! (I can hear the medical professionals gasping!) ;)

My mom is in bad shape and I am well educated when it comes to surgery, hospital stays, rehap and pain management. I have been told by doctors 3 1/2 hours so don't worry about the 3 1/2 hour advise, it's right on target.

I hope you are doing well after the surgery. It's hard now but I hope it's better soon. I can't wait til you talk about playing tennis again. I never thought I would be able to walk normal again but I am back to normal after almost 3 years and it's a great feeling.

Looking forward to the rest of your reviews!

I agree with the 3 1/2 hour thing. That is right on target.

I am sorry to hear about your Mom. Yes, that 3 to 3 1/2 hour thing is right on target. I an definitely better today. Mostly because I actually slept well last night for once. I really needed that.

Thanks so much !! I probably won't be hitting a tennis ball until February, but it will happen ... some day.

Lots of food photos still to be seen !!

Fresh Mickey Waffles.... YUM!

:welcome: Thanks for stopping by !!!

I know, right !! Fresh Mickey waffles are the best. They were fresh every morning, so they were especially yummy. DD enjoyed these almost every morning of our trip.

Lunch at Casey's Corner

We had planned to eat at Columbia Harbor House for lunch, but as we got close to the castle, DD said she smelled hot dogs. I asked her if that is what she wanted to eat and she said yes. Everyone else was agreeable, so we ate at Casey's for lunch. We grabbed a seat outside since the rain had cooled things off considerably and the temps were perfect.

We had an excellent view

DD, DS and I just got a plain hot dog and added some ketchup

DH loaded his up at the condiment bar.

We all got fries. These were very good hot dogs and here was DD’s assessment

Thumbs up.

The piano player was out and we enjoyed listening to him while we ate

DH and I got Cracker Jacks for dessert.

The kids got a chocolate brownie that is in one of the photos above. We were too full for dessert and I put everything in my bag for later.

Great breakfast review, I am not a huge breakfast person but your little QS looks great at RF. I have never every been in the WL, so I need to get over there and try this place. It reminds of the Grand Californian at DL.

I want to say they were both designed by the same guy. I will have to Google to verify. It is a very beautiful resort. We loved it there !! LOVED it !!!

ETA: So, yes, they were designed by the same person - Peter Dominick.

Roaring Fork is one of the best places for Mickey waffles! I'm impressed that you were actually picked something else there.

I am not surprised they are both by the same guy, the lobby of the Grand is amazing and I am sure the WL is just as good and or even better. Thanks for sharing that little Disney fact.

I really like that croissant sandwich. I picked that because it had protein in it and if I just eat carbs and sugar in the morning, I get hungry too early. But if I eat protein, I last longer and have more energy.

Peter Dominick designed the Animal Kingdom Lodge as well. I learned that when I "googled" about Wildreness Lodge and the Grand Californian. Another fun little Disney factoid ....
