THE DISNEADS ARE HEADED TO WDW! Update 5/21...We're outta here!

Oh my gosh; that was when Figment was a great ride!! I love that picture!! And, I hate what they did to that ride. I miss the old Figment!

Me too!!! I won't ever forget when I went to WDW the first time after they redid the ride...I went up the to first CM I saw, and I said "How do you get upstairs?" and she said "What do you mean?" and I said "You know? All the fun stuff?" and she said "I'm not sure what you are talking about?" It took my about an hour to figure out that all of that was GONE! And I was so disappointed with the new look of the whole thing.

CJ cannot remember the old Journey. He only knows of the new Journey. Sad, sad.

Oh, and if you are lurking out there, please let us know! I'm afraid if no one is reading my motivation to continue the report will leave me. So, if you are reading and/or following, say hello!!

I just started keeping up!!! So like I always ask CJ... have a suitcase that will fit me?

We have a suitcase that might work, but, you are gonna have to pay the $15 luggage fee to check yourself on to the airplane. :rotfl:

Some of you may have been thinking that I fell off the face of the earth.

Well, I guess I did, for a brief moment.

I'm back!

So these past few weeks have been rather busy for the Disneads. Quite honestly, I have no clue what exactly we have been busy doing. I'm sure it is a mixture of things, like the nice weather that has been popping up here and there, and spending more time outdoors, and also a bathroom remodel (yes, we are still remodeling our bathroom - I think it will go down in the books as the longest bathroom remodel in history), and my job has kept me crazy busy because of some panic regarding our annual recital (but we're all good now)....so....YES, we've been missing, we've been busy, but we're back!:cool1:

Wanna hear something awesomly cool??? As of tomorrow, April 1, we can officially say that we are going to WDW next month!!! Yippee! [insert dancing banana]

I have so, so, so, so much to update everyone on. First, I gotta finish our daily plans for Wednesday and Thursday, and I'm gonna do that next, without stopping, so that no one is waiting - hanging on to a cliff just waiting - not one second longer.

Wednesday, May 27

This will be our last full day at the parks. We have an exciting day planned! To start, we will be waking up with the roosters, because we've got a 7:30 AM ressie at Chef Mickeys! This is CJ's favorite restaurant and dining experience. He loves breakfast and loves all the breakfast yummies at CM. Little CJ really likes it too. :wizard:

So, we'll eat quickly, then head to MK for rope drop. We're gonna enjoy our last full day at MK leisurely. We will do as much or as little as we can, head back to the resort for a rest and swim - which will probably be longer than usual because I really do want to have a nice casual day. :cloud9:

We also have to pick up our rental car on Wednesday afternoon, because on Thursday, we'll be driving over to PORT CANAVERAL!!! That's right. We are driving ourselves over. We don't want to be on a bus schedule on Thursday, and we want to take our time getting over to the ship. With a 4 year old and a 1 year old, there's no doubt in my mind it will be an exciting and eventful day. :scared1:

I hope to catch Spectro and Wishes one last time before we say goodbye to WDW. I get really emotional when leaving, so I want it to be the perfect end to the perfect vacation. I would like to be eating my dole whip on the bridge while watching Wishes for the last time (and wiping those tears!).

But I guess it's not really the end, because on Thursday we get to go on the Disney Wonder! :woohoo:

I got an early birthday gift today. My birthday really isn't until May 5 (Cinco de Mayo - a FUN birthday!) but I can never think of anything I want for my birthday so I typically end up asking for something I really don't want or don't care about.

So, CJ has had an iPhone since they came out and I have said since then...I HATE THAT STINKIN iPHONE!!! And I meant it, because it takes his attention away from our family when we are doing something together and it makes me mad. Sometimes I feel like all I see is the top of his head these days.

But just this past weekend, we had to go on this road trip to visit the inlaws, and while I do typically hate the iPhone, on this particular trip, I was lovin it! Well, not so much the phone, but all the cool Apps. First of all, whoever created Where...wow! When I need my Starbucks, all I have to do is refer to Where and it will tell me how to get there...seriously??? I love that! And Pandora - well, let's just say it got me through my mandatory 3 hours of driving. I typed in Michael Jackson and I was boogie-ing all the way down I-65. :cool2:

So, long story short, I just HAD to have an iPhone the day we got back. It just made sense for me. I need one. I NEED to know where a Starbucks is at all times :rotfl2: I NEED my daily Michael Jackson Thriller Bad Billy Jean fix :lmao: It is imperative that I must have an iPhone for my birthday.

So I got one :yay::woohoo::dance3:

And today I took the kids to the Dinosaur exhibit at the museum and I used the camera that is on the iPhone and got this picture:

Fun fun!!

I charged the iPhone to my Disney Visa, so not only am I getting my iPhone, but I am gaining those lovely Disney dollars for my upcoming trip too!!! :thumbsup2

Nice! The iPhone looks so cool, but I don't have AT&T.

I always get so sad when leaving WDW, too.

Thursday, May 28

It's a bittersweet day! We have to leave the most magical place on earth, and we know that we may not be back for a while (unless we go all Dave Ramsey on our lifestyle and pay off all of our debt and buy into DVC...but I'll save that for another update) so it is definitely a sad day for me. I ALWAYS have a WDW trip in the works and I'm guessing come May 28 we will not have anything planned. So, so sad. But, I can't be sad now, because I have a long time to look forward to my trip and I will cross that bridge when I get there!

The great thing is that we will board the Disney Wonder to begin our second portion of the Disnead family vacation. Woohoo!

So, I am imagining this day to be very low-key and leisurely. HAHAHAHAH!!!

What I would LIKE to do is wake up, stroll over and grab some counter service breakfast, enjoy my last cup of coffee in my refillable mug - hopefully while sitting on a balcony enjoying a nice peaceful view, then, go back to the room, load up the car. Then, I'd like to hop the boat over to DTD, just for the heck of it, and pick up some necessities from Goofy's Candy Company, YUM!, head back to the boat, car, hop in, and drive away towards the Port.

It will go more like this:

Wake up, yell at CJ to get moving, yell at little CJ to get moving, tell little CJ 500 times that he can't go swimming or ride the bus, convince Little CJ to get dressed, run FRANTICALLY over to counter service, where we will find out that breakfast stopped being served about 5 minutes ago, CJ will mope back to the room complaining that he didn't get breakfast, the rest of the family will eat poptarts and be happy, except for CJ, who will dwell on the fact that he did not get breakfast. Then, loading the car will be nearly impossible, because we will have to make 500 trips, I will inevitably forget something in the room (probably something important like medicine - because that's what I did last time), but won't realize it until after we are at the Port....so, yeah, that's how the morning will really be like. :rotfl2:

Regardless of how our morning goes, yes, it will be bittersweet. But, we will have made many lasting memories and hopefully one day my two sweet kiddos will be posting vintage photos of their childhood trips to WDW with the fam.

Wanna hear something funny? So, when CJ and I are driving, we listen to our iPod, which usually has some downloaded WDW Podcasts or some really cool Area Loop music from magic kingdom that we found on a website. And when it comes on, Little CJ usually says something like - HEY! That is from Pirates, or, HEY! that is from Splash Mountain. It's great that he remembers. But someday, he's gonna be chatting with his buddies, and he's gonna say to them..."Yeah, I remember when we were on car trips my mom and dad would listen to music from Disney World." :rotfl2: and he is gonna get laughed off the face of the planet because his mom and dad are big Disney nuts and listen to NOT NORMAL music in the car. And he's gonna think that it is completely normal and that all moms and dads listen to that in their car. Oh boy. HAHAHAHA!

I do not think that leaving the parks will be too bittersweet this trip. I will be looking forward to that day. I am sooo ready to go on the Wonder!

As for leaving that day. I would like to argue with you on how it is going to be, but after thinking about it...I really think you are pretty close. I better get some breakfast though. 2 orders of Poly sausage and a Mickey waffle please! My mouth is watering.

I imagine on the car ride over we'll be blasting ride music or park music. Adventureland background music loop is perfect Carribbean music!

I don't have too much to update about our trip, except for the fact that we are so so so so excited and can now officially say that we are going to WDW next month.

This week our area is off school for Spring Break, which means I am also off for the week. It's been such a fun week, and I've been spending alot of time with my kiddos. The weather has been beautiful, and we've been enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. :flower3: I just love Spring.

Today, we took a trip to the zoo with some friends. I'm not the biggest fan of the zoo. First, I really don't enjoy watching animals. Most animals are quite boring to watch, and some are just downright gross. Plus, the zoo smells, and there's not a whole lot to do, and it's a money trap, and I just don't usually enjoy being there.

But, today, the weather was gorgeous and the sun was shining. We had our short sleeves on and were able to open our windows in the car. It felt very much like a "Disney day." When we got to the zoo, I closed my eyes for a moment and pretended to be at Animal Kingdom. Then, little CJ turned to me and said, with all seriousness, "Mommy, does the zoo have a dinosaur ride?" No. And that was the end of my daydream. :rotfl:

I am going to start working on a schedule for getting the family packed and ready to go. I know we still have about 6 weeks, but this time is going to FLY by for me. See, I am planning our dance school's annual dance recital, and this is my busiest time of the year. Our dance recital is on May 17, and we leave on May 22. Between May 17 and May 22, I have to organize our dance team clinics and auditions, so there will literally be no time for me to pack that week. Plus, it's little CJ's last week of school, and I know he is having a Pre-K graduation sometime that week, so, we are jam packed with activities from May 16 until May 21. So, my plan is to do certain things between now and then to make sure that packing for our trip will be stress free for me (since I do all the packing).

And - I've gotta go SHOPPING! Does anyone else like to get a new wardrobe before going on a big vacation? Well, maybe not a whole wardrobe, but some new clothing items to make you feel extra special on vacation. You know? Except for CJ - he still wears the same clothes he wore when I met him in college 12 years ago. :lmao:

We've got a big weekend planned! We're getting ready to finish the bathroom!!! The contractors are finished, we just have to paint, install a toilet and vanity, and we are all done. We'll post pictures when we are all done! And tomorrow, I think I will go shopping for new clothes for the kids. Both of them have outgrown their winter clothes, so what better time to buy new clothes than now??

Here's a picture of the kids today at the zoo...

We listen to WDW music all the time, too. I think we have every ride song on DH's desktop, so we normally turn it on to listen to when we're in that room or making dinner! It's so much fun!

Cute kiddo pics at the zoo!!!
