:goodvibes Thanks guys!

Cold hard ca$h it'll be....that's a whole lot easier than trying to buy something before vacation anyway!

I am a little late to chime in but - yup - cash is king.

Trying to remember...so long ago..:lmao: Neil got 2 briefcases, a fancy pen/pencil set and a pocket protector with a compass or something like that in it.

Engineering humor.

Ryan did her talent show this morning. Jump rope to "You've got to move it" quite cute.

And our school is doing spirit week this week. Today: Disney Day:thumbsup2 We have that covered!

Have a great day everyone. Going to run errands. Ship a box to Florida. And then meet with Wood Designs Inc. to get my mantel put in (finally)

And yes, Cheri, I will finally post pictures of the fireplace project.:thumbsup2

ok friends...here's a question for ya:

We got an invite to a graduation party for a brother & sister. The son is graduating from high school (so I figure $ would be good gift) but the daughter is graduating from college and is engaged to be married in the fall. What should we give her as a gift...I'm don't know what to get??

Suggestions....?

Maybe a bit late....but there's also American Express Gift Cards which can be used just about anywhere....

Uncle etc. finished the new steps last nite :woohoo: ...will try to clean 'em off a bit & snap a pict. of the final product sometime in the next few...they look so-o much better than the old ratty wood ones! No more splinters!!

after looking at some of the other, longer, sleeker (and not taking up so much room-ier) logos, I played around with these. What do all y'all think?

longlogo3.jpg

longlogo4.jpg

both the ears and the pirate mickey came from the Door Sign thread (them people are talented!) - this is what I do when I can't sleep. I know, I know, read a book Cheri!

They finally finished putting in our new floor, so I 'spect RJ wants me to post a couple of "pitchers".

One in the living room...

WoodFloor1.jpg

And one by the front door.

How exciting. I could just yawn.

RJ & Beano - LOVE the color on the new floor! I like lighter woods...very nice...natural looking! :thumbsup2

Cheri - the logos are cool...I like the one w/ pirate mickey best...don't think that would all quite fit on my avatar :rotfl2:

Today WAS Wednesday...glad to be over the hump...gonna go catch the Idol finale....and then LOST....

Happy Thursday :grouphug:

Annie: How did the Uncle's project turn out? ....pictures please

Gotta take the dogs to the vet today for shots and get to cleaning this house. Man, I didn't know how messy it would get from taking tile out. Even the cans inside the pantry have a layer of dust on em :rotfl2:

Have a nice day everyone! :goodvibes

Happy Thursday back to all...the day started rough (35 min. commute to go 8 miles)! :headache: But it's turning into a bad memory now...

The steps look great - love this synthetic wood stuff!! Nice & smooth. DH says good thing we bought it last summer when we did (even tho it sat around stacked up all winter) as it's an oil based product & with the price of oil now it's really skyrocketed! He had to exchange a couple of pieces the other nite (he works for a local Mom & Pop lumber yard) and even with his discount one 12' board was $45! Anyway, will try to take some "after" picts. tonite...

RJ - I know your pain about the dust - my Uncle basically lived with us for 4 days a week from June - Sept. last yr. while they finished our basement...UGGGGGHHHH!! :scared1: Drywall dust - and then tile for the floor around the bar and in the bathroom...my cousins husband did the tile work and he cut it all outside - but it STILL made a mess...

Where is everybody?!

OK, I have "issues" with making decisions...so I've taken too many picts. of these stupid steps. I mean, they're STEPS for goodness sake!! But....anyway....here are my before & after picts. of the step project! (Not quite as exciting as beautiful new bamboo floors!)

Old, nasty, splintered up things...wouldn't stand up to any more power washing & beyond waterproofing:

NICE Annie!!! :thumbsup2 (that looks likes the kinda stuff we want to have out deck built outta of)

Do they not put up fences there in MD? Us Californians all have fences (of course, our houses are really close together ) ....we have friends in upstate NY, they don't have fences either :confused3

:lmao: I remember thinking the same thing when we moved to the East Coast.

It was weird, like everyone shared a big backyard.

When bought our house the lots were really wooded so it wasn't so bad.

Annie - what part of MD are you in? We lived in SE Chester County near Oxford, PA. BTW - great deck. And I love the pavers. And how exactly does it take that long to go 8 miles!? That sounds like CA traffic to me!

Is that vinyl siding I spy? Ours was gray:thumbsup2 Bet you got shutter too huh!? Ours were wineberry!

I love the water garden..it looks so pretty!!

RJ - sorry..I was awake last night, but upstairs and didn't get your message

I had to return 3 Land's End shirts yesterday ( SEARS takes returns..woohoo) because I ordered them at the beginning of April and they are swimming on me now..going to the mall tomorrow to get some vacation clothes! Also weighted yesterday, but I am afraid to post the results because Cheri might do me harm!!:scared:

Friday, Friday....

So, who is going to see POTC 3 this weekend? We probably won't be able to go until next week...? Depends on Beano's schedule doncha know.

Had to make an emergency run to the vet yesterday...DS's cat came home with a hole in her side. Vet said blown abcess :scared: We felt bad, we never knew she had one. Now she is very mad....we had to lock her in the laundry room until the hole begins to heal and close. She's not liking it one bit!

Johnna: "valley dust bowl" :rotfl2: so true!

for those of you that don't know, Beano & I live in a small rural town of 10,000...and we're surrounded by farm and AG land

Hope everyone has a enjoyable Memorial Weekend.......be safe! :grouphug:

:dance3: Happy Friday everyone! (I'm hoping my office decides to close a couple hrs. early today! Crossing my fingers anyway!)

Oxford, PA - I'm not big on PA geography - but is that sorta between Baltimore & Philly?! We live in Montgomery, Co., MD just about 23 miles out of D.C. - so we live in a very congested area - I actually have a super good commute now MOST of the time (usually about 20 min. on the "back roads"). But yesterday there was bad traffic on I-270 which is the major interstate coming from PA to DC - so everybody bailed onto the "back roads". I used to work on Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda (21 mi.) and it usually took me about an hr. & 15 min....Then I worked in Rockville and drove 16 mi. & it took about 40-45 minutes. But I'm lovin' my 8 miles 8-4:30 job right now!

Anyway, fences :lmao: Funny how diff. parts of the country live. Our lots are small too for the most part. There ARE some fences, but , most people here only fence if they have a dog they want to let out - or if they have a private pool then it's a law - but those are RARE here :sad2: And it is EXACTLY like one big shared yard here! I guess because elbow room & space is precious everybody sorta feels like they have more space if they don't fence - plus it's expensive. All the kids run from yard to yard... We're lucky in that we snagged a lot on a court - so our lot is pie shaped - very narrow out front (maybe 38' I think) but it's very wide in the back (like 112') and the angle puts more space between the houses too. We're just under a 1/4 acre - but our next door neighbor is in the middle of the court & has the BIGGEST lot in the community - just about 1/2 acre...and the lots directly behind us are about 1/3 acre - so even tho our lot is smaller we have lots of open space. Our development used to be an old corn field - so we don't have a lot of big trees - nothing has matured yet. I have planted several varieties of crape myrtles ('cuz they flower and I LOVE flowers).

Vinyl siding and shutters - YES!! And we have a brick front & I think our shutters & front door are called "Colonial Red" or some such thing...sort of a burgundy color...:rotfl:

So, who's doing what this weekend? I have like 4 flats of annuals to plant this weekend....and I would LIKE to sit outside on the patio for a few hours & get some sun (I'm SO-O white  ). A neighbor is having a few ppl over on Sat. afternoon...need to take a pasta salad...:rolleyes1 I also bought some wax for my truck...it needs a hand job (i.e. hand wash) and a coat of wax - but that might be a little too ambitious for me...we'll see. It's red and 2 yrs. old - so it will fade if I don't do it soon...but...hummmm....long weekend....first 90 degree day....patio is calling me.....
