BAD NEWS!!! I HAD GAINED 5lbs since my first weigh in on April 10th, so I am only 1lb less than my last weight loss...

But WOOHOO!! I feel better!

It's poker nite for the guys here so I'm meeting a friend tonite for dinner & we can't decide where to go 'cuz she started that South Beach diet this week & it's very strict the first 2 weeks or something so she's being picky. It's making me nuts 'cuz neither of us can pick a PLACE!!! She has her grandson & I have DS so we need kid friendly... I haven't eaten since my oatmeal at 7:00 this morning so I'm famished (it's almost 8:00)....

GOOD NEWS!!! I HAVE LOST 6lbs!!!

It's a start! Sometimes it just takes a couple of weeks to get the result show you're going for! Keep up the good work!

Last year I decided it was time to prevent that 40something weight gain from taking over & I wanted to just loose like 8 Lbs. (pants were getting tight & I didn't want to have to buy new clothes). Dieting for the first time in my life was TOUGH & I was just trying to do it by counting calories. It took me like 3 months to loose those stupid 8 Lbs - but it eventually happened & now I just sorta monitor my overall calories for the week & have managed to maintain my weight. DH & I were also trying to quit smoking for like the past year & I know people usually gain weight after they quit so I wanted to be sure I could control my weight BEFORE I even did quit. Well, THAT was another struggle - but we both finally quit the end of Feb. (I'd smoked for 29 years)! Worst part of THAT now is when I hit drink #2

ANYWAY, STAY STRONG!


Supposed to hit mid-70's for the next 4 days! 'Bout time!!!! I heard this has been our coldest April in like 100 years! Will be outside most of the weekend I think - trying to play catch-up on the gardening!

We too finally have a nice stretch of weather. Weve had 2 soccer games and a baseball scrimmage already today...which I dressed too warm for thinking there is no way I will be hot. I was dying in a long sleeve tshirt. It makes me very happy to say that.

Then I went shopping for some clothes for my upcoming trip. You guys are all going to think Im nuts, but I have to share. While at Kohls, I saw this really cute "little black dress". It was on sale for only $30.00! The first thing I thought of was....well this would be a good Palo dress, LOL! So even though it's 15 months away, I have a dress for Palo...and it was a huge bargain.

Ok, not really; just a loooong day, and logistically, one of the most difficult funerals we've ever had. But, it all went flawlessly, so I guess it's a good day. I need to be a "glass half full" kinda guy.

So, what's left of my weekend "off" will be spent relaxing at home, doing as little as possible, and draining a Coors Light or 2.
