But you could call them and ask...they'll talk to you!

OK Meaning you won't talk to me - or they won't talk to you. Annie? have you been banned from calling DCL!?

:lmao:

Now Cas asks, "what do I have to do this year?"

:lmao:

I am in on the fish extenders. I pulled someones instructions off of that thread and was going to attempt to make a trial one. I will let you know how that goes. I don't really sew but can definitely get my machine to go in a straight line so might be able to pull it off with the help of fabric glue. That stitch witchery binding stuff never works for me. I'll try.

And we all play VMK in this house. I am currently saving up my Disney movie reward points for inferno magic. Your son will know what this is. Heck he might already have it. We are AceEllaBelle, CaptAceKing, BlueAcePinkTink and LilPirateLinden on VMK. I can usually be found playing haunted mansion and Neil is generally playing Pirates. Ryan cruises around to different things. Maybe we can catch DS on a weekend given the time difference.

Excursions? hmm...I think all we are going to try to accomplish is Atlantis for the day. I am pretty sure I can find a decent day rate for a hotel room over there so I can take the girls in the water park and DH can go check out the poker room at the casino. We did the stingrays at CC last cruise so maybe we will try something else - well Neil and Ryan. I will be shackled to the wee pirate and there are none excursions for wee pirates. Ryan is looking forward to recreating "crabapalooza" with Cassie at CC.:thumbsup2

yes, yes. I think there will have to be a whole new colony of hermit crab condos built by the girlies. Gives mommies some hammock/lounger time (more condos!)

This is one day we need to be up early. Protect our turf we must! Those 3 hammocks by Head's Up are ours sez I pirate: . Last time no one came near. Hmmm... maybe we can do whatever we did again ("again again again")

:rotfl2: Yeah. Right. Sewing machine. :rotfl: Not in this house! If it can't be fixed with a safety pin and / or scotch tape it goes to Goodwill or the Salvation Army! I haven't even washed DS's scout shirt in like 18 months 'cuz that darned magical iron-on stuff doesn't hold up to the wash! I swear - his little blue shirt is so nasty! But I don't want the patches to fall off!:lmao: Are you sure a Target bag won't pass for a Fish Extender?!

Yeah, no sewing in this house either. :confused3 Whats a fish extender? I think Im missing a lot lately.

Well, I don't play & really don't know a thing about it but DS said he has 2 alias names he uses:

FunnyWhee and Cookieguycookie

He hasn't been on there a WHOLE lot recently...the Wii is getting it's fair share of use tho!:goodvibes

ahh the summer camp rush. Sign up day is always a zoo here. Paint Ball, Lazer Tag, Archery, Legoland, Built-it (construction), and Equestrian always get filled up before noon. You'd better be there early if you want a space. Some moms camp out starting at 7:00am! I only did that ONCE! And I didn't get there until 8:00! I swear! Now Cas asks, "what do I have to do this year?"

Wow - u guys have cool camps! DS would surely love the laser tag one! We just have your basic stuff - your various basic sports, theater & arts, aqua sports, outdoor/nature & a couple horseback ones. The horseback ones fill up quick here too (limited amount of horses!) But we don't have to go anywhere to register. We can do it online or by mail...I'll just do it online...once we can figure out a PLAN. The "before care / after care" crap adds up to like $120 / week for almost all of them on top of the price of the camp...and I'm not feelin' that!:scared: The horseback one is not accessible by bus, nor does it have the before & after care available - so that one's probably not going to happen unless DH does it 'cuz it's near his office... There is one outdoors one that is a 2 week session at this little park that I pass on my way home from work...they say it fills up quick 'cuz it also has 1 nite that's an overnight and they have a small pool onsite. It is accessible by bus from a couple of diff. spots that I could drop him off. But the 2 weeks would add $240 in before / after care from the dropoff place - that's really annoying me!

All of those camps are thru the YMCA. It's easier to pick those camps as they provide transport to the different locales. They offer the traditional stuff too (cooking, baseball, tennis) but since the same kids go year after year they have to keep it interesting - and they know the parents will pay to it. I am soooo glad we are past that. Slow and casual is our speed now. And me likey :woohoo:

I'm getting ideas for the fish extenders. No worries. It's supposed to be fun. TRM will try something this weekend as will I. And, no Annie, sorry, Target just won't go. The only thing each of our families (that participate) will really need to come up with is one thing to "deliver" to the other families - like a thing that represents their region of the country (maple syrup if you were from Canada, eg) or small dollar store disney stuff or any other thing you could com up with. Here is a picture of what one family received. Shown only for ideas.... (it was a long cruise with lot's of participants)

WOW! Some of our fellow DIS'ers are quite creative!! I love the stuffed Plankton guy!!

Let's see...Tracy, CA....Tracy... Tracy...:confused3 This was a railroad town but I cannot see packing like 8 railroad cars! Must be creative...must be creative...

Man I wish I lived in Kingsburg! I would know just what to bring!:thumbsup2

Must go to fabric store. Have to travel for that - maybe tomorrow. Summer camp! I heard our city guide had been published but mine might still be in the mailbox! YMCA! Not around here.:sad2:

Cheri I might call you and see what you are going to try!

Ok now Im really confused! What is this fish thing????

actually, I think the Plankton dude wasn't part of the exchange. That'd be really expensive!

Katie, this be a fish extender. It hangs from the fish just outside the stateroom doors. Whoever wants to leaves little somethings - kinda like a secret santa. The 2nd one is really advanced.

I was thinking one or two pockets MAX.

TRM- I'm just taking some scrap material left over from a project and am going to cut, iron and fabric glue - won't be doing the pleats on this first one. I'll go over to a fabric store (when I find one) to see if I can find appliques. Those I could stitch on. I'll also ask my grandma if she has any ideas. She used to make clothes for my Barbie dolls so she knows her way around a sewing maching I'm thinkin'

:rolleyes1 RJ doesn't sew.......what to do, what to do

I can glue with the best of 'em though :rotfl2:

Where do we find a pattern for these "fish extenders"?

I found another one posted somewhere...this is more my creative speed! CamColt - you can see it's hanging from this fish thingy in the hallway - that's why they call them "fish extenders" - 'cuz you hang 'em off the fish!!
RJ - you, me & CamColt will just have to come up with sumthin' else that doesn't involve sewing! (I could tie multiple Target bags together!):lmao:

yeah, that is WAAAAAAAAY more advanced than I planned on. But if you want to got for it then do (just don't show us up too badly). I figured as long as we had one pocket to leave things in we'd all be good. No need to get fancy.

Beano thinks someone will come along and steal them all :scared1:

I would hope that wouldn't be true....I'd hate for us all to go to the trouble of making them, only to have them disappear!

Did anyone watch "What Not to Wear" tonight? The woman on tonight's show is CB Dis'er...... how kewl is that!

:lmao: :rotfl2: I seriously can't even sew on a button right! DH hates it whenever he loses a button on something 'cuz he knows unless HE FIXES it he will never get to wear it again! :rotfl: Do not worry about my talents winning any awards! :sad2: :goodvibes

Ditto! After seeing that picture, I think I am in with the wrong group here. I am the least creative person alive. I can drink with you all though! :cool1:

And on that note, I had a peeps dream last night! I was at the terminal (didnt look like the real terminal) looking around and was surprised I hadnt seen any of you yet. Then I saw Cheri at a long cafeteria like table in the corner. I went running over and you all were there. Everyone was wearing matching yellow and aqua shirts. :confused3

That's MY GIRL - I'll decorate my fish extender with a bar motif!:lmao: (You think I'm kiddin'?!):rotfl2: After I have DS carry your DH's case of Sam Adams out of the liquor store you wouldn't put it past me would you?!:rotfl:

Matching yellow & aqua shirts 'eh? (I hope more aqua than yellow!)

Nope, shirts will be a DIS lime green ;) *

*note to self: Beano and I must design shirts soon
