Ok haven't seen Enchanted yet...but I was thinking "Whistle While you Work":rolleyes1

Annie - go into Verizon store and throw phone at nearest employee and scream "This stoopid phone doesn't work right - and you need to get me a new one right now!" See if that gets someones attention.

Katie - Run screaming from the house claiming today you are allergic to boys. Go to spa and get a massage and a pedicure.

RJ - stop chopping onions. Give Beano beeg kiss for me and rig the football pool so you and I win so we can go to spa and get massage and pedicure.

Cheri - fly to Fresno to join us for massage and pedicure.

TZM - give Ophie beeg kiss.

Ophie - go find Betsy - she is all alone and might need a pedicure!

Beano - share the island and the boat. Friends are a very important necessity of life. Besides we are all cute.:cutie:

:lmao: Just noticed I seem to have a foot fetish today.:lmao: huh. Feet actually kinda creep me out.

Must need more coffee!

Whew! I was a wrapping & packing FIEND all morning but I made it! Had to send DH out for a couple of things. He only called twice to verify items :rotfl2: (He NEVER shops for anything!). Made it to the P.O. at exactly 12:30 (with 30 minutes to spare) Only 1 person in line ahead of us! By the time we spent our $61 on postage the line was back out to the door! Guess we hit it just right! I am so relieved to be done with THAT part. :santa: If only I could learn my lesson tho about mailing early so I don't have to do the "Priority Mail". Parcel Post would save a LITTLE bit...but at this point on the calendar afraid to chance it!

Sleet & ice not to start until 4:00ish...then supposed to turn to rain after midnight. Want to finish any errands before sleet starts!

OK, now off to start laundry...maybe clean a little...definitely wrap some more....maybe go to Verizon...dunno if I should just buy a new phone or search online for batteries for my old one?!:confused3 I haven't had time to look yet....I was entitled to a new phone last summer when I renewed my contract but I liked THIS one & said no - but I still get a $100 credit toward a new one....I like the Motorola products....not as many to pick from tho...

Oh Johnna I would fly to Fresno but CPS frowns on leaving kids alone (and I frown on leaving youngest child at mercy of oldest child longer than a grocery run- it's veddy scary!) Could use a pedicure though... hm... did you ever check the "manicure" link on the web site? It was a youtube thing. Very funny on nail shops.

Beano - sheesh! My boat! My boat! My boat! My boat! I only want one of 'em sheesh, boy never learned to share in kindergarten. You can have the island (and the bugs) if you'll let me come visit.

OK. Found Motorola battery online at Ebay - $12 something with shipping... I dunno. I just hated to spend any more money RIGHT NOW. I also hate to be w/o my phone for a week!:scared1: That's why I almost bought a new one. But I also don't have time to research the new phone & read 100 reviews right now & the one I was interested in was like $240 less my $100 credit and a $50 mail-in rebate...so $90 in the end but $140 up front. But they didn't have this one set up as a demo to try out - and I refuse to buy one w/o making calls on it! I know you have 30 days to exchange it but I'd rather be happy with it from the get go - I don't want to go back - they're a pain in the butt over there!! DH has a family deal set up with his work acct. where I could get 30% off accessories (which we all need some of those, right?). It was just bad timing with Xmas & all...so we'll try this online battery thing for awhile - at least until I'm more in the mood to deal with it & spend the money...

Hope everyone's having a good Saturday!

(Crisis tomorrow nite - Redskins play in the evening & it's opposite the season finale of Survivor!)

 I'd go with watching Survivor Finale and checking the football game @ NFL.com

We'll probably have to split up - he'll watch the game on the big TV in the basement and then watch Survivor on Tivo another nite and I'll watch the finale upstairs while I'm wrapping presents....... Who do you want to win now that it's down to the final 4?! I haven't decided yet. I was disappointed that Denise didn't take Phi Gee on reward but I understand why. Todd is funny but can't be trusted. I like her, but Amanda is also a little sneaky thing... Honestly, I kinda like scrawny 70 Lb Courtney! She really hasn't screwed anybody over - and she's a pisser that one! I can't believe she hasn't wasted away & fainted....maybe being a weakling was in her favor - the lack of food didn't impact her as much?

gee that sounds like "As the World Turns for All My Children at General Hospital"

:lmao:

Hope everyone had a good Saturday. Party 1 is done, just a bit of cleaning up left. But that can wait til the morning because I'm beat. For now, Im chilling out, working, watching (well listening to as I work) the Bruins game. DH is upstairs making me a White Russian (with French Vanilla Kaluah...yummy! ), so I'll be signing off soon. ...and we do it all again tomorrow, only with 8 boys, 7-11! UGH!

I do have to say Im excited for this party. I'm not one to be creative and theme stuff but we are having fun with this one. The goodie bags are Pats cups and they each have a Pats balloon, pin, red and blue glow sticks, etc... For a game we are doing squares (I hope no one objects thinking we are encouraging gambling, LOL!) and we have Pats ornaments for prizes (each kid will get one, the ones who win first just get their pick). I did the Gridiron cake and some decorations. We are even putting the juices and waters in a cooler for the kids. If it werent for the snow we would have tailgated and grilled outside. This is so not like me. You guys must be rubbing off on me. But I do have this awful feeling we are going to lose power. :headache: :lmao: That would so be my luck!

I have 1 picture from yesterday.

Im sure Ill have more fun pictues later from todays party.

And boy is it snowing out there!

CamColt - glad the family party went well - he looked happy in the pic anyway!:thumbsup2 I'm sure today will be a blast - we have just plain ole dreary rain down here now...no fun for shopping! The lights look good - did DH put them up? I would never be able to get mine up there to do that!

I have not done MIL shopping yet...she's my task for today! And I need to return a game I got for the neighbors - got a better idea AFTER I bought it so need to exchange...isn't that always the way tho?!:confused3 I also had a brain flash this morning for my grandma! I had bought this green tractor wind spinner thing for my mom when I was the beach for DS to give her (being from the farm & all it seemed appropriate). ANYWAY, my grandma is 90 and had a stroke LAST fall & has 24 hour home care...but so she apparently spends a lot of time just staring out the window. So my family keeps putting things out in the yard for her to look at & she talks to the stuff & whatever. It keeps her entertained. (Scarecrows at Halloween & now those animated deer etc.) But so when I got the tractor out to wrap it I thought I could find something colorful like that for grandma too - and VOILA! KiteandWind.com had a "morning rooster" spinner - he looks pretty with his tail feathers and he's pretty big too (27 x 40 x 32") so that should help entertain her! And it suits the whole farm thing. I was excited about the idea anyway. Talk about someone hard to buy for! OK, now off to shop for MIL....:scared1:

Ummmm....I think we scared them all off, Annie. ;) Where did everyone go? Hope all is well.

That was the 2nd take picture. The first one he did his usual "Im miserable" face. Everyone started yelling things at him and he finally cracked up. :lmao:

And yes. DH does the lights. Its tough becasue right at the window on the bottom left, the land slopes there, and he always seems to have lights go out right there, LOL!

Our snow turned to rain and ice. Heres what the table on our deck looks like. (dont laugh your FL and CA peeps!)

I think you're right! We scared 'em off! (OR maybe they have more of a life?!):rotfl2:

That snow looks pretty deep - about what? 16-18"? We have like 50 MPH WINNNNDDDD now - terrible - reminds me of Isabel a couple years ago! I think I heard the window well cover blow away awhile ago - the cats went running! When I got home from shopping the "Mickey & Friends" sled was blown over (again).:headache: And I had it anchored pretty good this time with a trellis & plant stakes & bricks...

I just threw a lasagne in the oven - figured it's gonna be another busy week - makes good leftovers (LOVE those no-cook / ready to bake noodles)! I have my company Xmas party after work on Tues. (nothing fancy - it's sorta at a pool hall)! Then Wed. nite is DS's pack meeting and a neighbor is having her annual ornament party. (She picks a crafty way to make ornaments, invites 1/2 the neighborhood & we all go have a few glasses of wine & try to string beads on the darned things!):rotfl:

We go to WV Fri. nite so I need to be sorta DONE by then...at least with anything that's going on the road with us - we'll be home on Sun. & my office is closed on Mon. so that's a big help! But I still have a LOT of wrapping to do. Today I finished up pretty much EVERYTHING except MIL. She is now about 1/2 - 2/3 done. Thank God for Kohl's!:) I am still looking for one more "nice" thing for her tho! I had a gift card for 1 free item w/ purchase at Bath & Body Works - and wouldn't ya know they had most of their stuff 5 for $25?! So I cleaned up in there! Stocking stuffers - done!

I think tonite I will do my "prep work" on stuff for WV while watching the Survivor finale. I can take the tags off, fold stuff & put the tissue paper in the boxes & just label everything for wrapping...then I can wrap the stuff tomorrow nite! Oh. And I have to make something for DH to take to work on Wed - gonna make the ever popular Chicken Wing Dip!:) Alright, had better go....dinner is about out of the oven....

boy..it is COLD here..65 right now and suppose to be in the 40's tonight with wind chill in the 30's!!...TZM and Ophie will be FREEZING in Orlando..they have frost warnings there tonight!!
When I went to church this morning...it was 80 and humid!

1) all that snow on the table = COOOOOOL I wannnnnnnaaaaa go skiing!!!!!!! That's what it looked like outside our room in Telluride one year after it snowed for an hour. So very cool (yeah and cold - but way cool) So no laughing here.

2) pretty house Bets - but 80 degrees and humid in mid-December? Sumthin' ain't right about that!

3) How come TZM and ophie are in Orlando? and how come she doesn't post no mo'?

You think I'd know better (after the pumpkin soup disaster and all) but T said, "hey, Mom are we going to make cookies?" Sure! Poor Roudolph kept losing his head when going from cookie sheet to cooling rack. And the icing was a mess. Well, Momma always said to know your strengths and stick with them...... "Hello, I'd like a table for ...." at least all of the shopping and 9/10 of the wrapping is finished!

We have like 50 MPH WINNNNDDDD now - terrible - reminds me of Isabel a couple years ago!

Oh Ms. Annie--those are BAD WORDS in this house. The I word is not allowed to be mentioned (we were without electricity for 9 days, AND because we have a well for our water we had no water either!!!)

We had terrible winds today as well, but fortunately no frozen stuff. We did get some rain overnight, and it's COLD today :brr:

Took the kids to see Santa today :santa:

Katie, I love the look of all of that snow...don't want any here anytime soon, but it's so pretty when it's at someone else's house :rotfl:

I have to get these darn Christmas cards out. I got them the day after Thanksgiving and they are still sitting here in their box!!! sigh...

Anyone know where I can buy a few more hours for my days (24 aren't enough)?

Hey all!

Checking in.

CamColt - I am not :rotfl2: I am :sad2: and shivering for you. We are supposed to get :umbrella: tonight but so far. Nothing.

DH was just reading over my shoulder and saw CamColts ticker and said "hey someone is coming to CA" I told him it was Katie from MA - "won't we be down there at the same time?"

Our neighbor is a Deputy Sheriff here and they asked me if $50 was a good price for a 3-day hopper! Apparently the Police Assoc has a special ticket deal. Can you say "Going to Disneyland!":woohoo: Looks like they want to go the first weekend in Feb so we shall see.

Best Friend is getting a quote for a July 09 cruise to Tortola. She wants me to abandon you all and go with her. The nerve. Maybe I can do both and then go again Christmas 2010:rotfl2: That's a good one.

Gonna play the California Lottery's Million Dollar Raffle on New Years - you never know. What do they say? You can't win if you don't play. Sounds good to me.

:lmao: It is currently 28 with 25 mph or so winds so our wind chill is about like I don't know...19 degrees!?

Sorry about the "I" word Sue Ellen....won't do that again!

Cheri & Sue Ellen...You can have it...you can have it all! I got tons here. ;)

Bets, I just love the Palm tree. Those are the sites I like to see...not big snow piles out side my window. SIGH...if I could just get my whole family to move to FL I'd be there in a heartbeat. We are at 17 degrees right now. :headache:

Hope the trip works out for you Johnna, even if it means you being there before me. :goodvibes

Ok, now that the parties are over, I have to get serious about Christmas. :scared1: Think I'll try to sneak out to the mall today.

HA!!! This was the temp at 8am this morning:

BRRRR....ya know...us Florida folk (at least the ones who have lived here all our lives) don't have WARM CLOTHES!!!!
Brrrrr.....wind cuts like a knife through my Old Navy-poor excuse for a thermal waffle shirt!!
