Yeah, I think she will be really good. I like Jennie Garth, but thats because I was a 90210 junkie. ;) There seem to be some good ones to choose from.
Until I see a few of their dances I wont choose 1 favorite. ;)

Sorry RJ - don't watch too much reality TV - do enjoy DWTS also.

Football picks....ugh. OK I will go print the page and stew over that today. Gotta keep my lead over Sean.:thumbsup2

Not too much to report here. Kinda cool today. I would say cold but then there are those on the East Coast who would laugh at us Californians.

Wish it would rain but only a 40% chance I think and that is to the north of me.

Going to take BFs DD English notebook to school. She forgot it here when I was babysitting. I had a 14 year old high school freshman daughter for a few days. I don't think I am ready for that yet. See...let her forget her notebook I did.

I guess I should stop for a coffee while I am out!!

Annie - how do the savings envelopes work? I am intrigued by this idea. We must chat. Later. Since you are at work and 3 hours ahead of me.

OK - rambling...must get coffee.

OK - while getting away is nice. Especially with friends. Do you have another envelope for this getaway?

Seriously, sounds like other family is involved and if you so love the family Thanksgiving I would say it's a no.

Perhaps she can choose another weekend?

(Insert smiley smacking forehead here). Another envelope! Yes - that's what I need!! According to my neighbors emails today, this is definitely THE DATE and 3 of the other families have already said yes and they've now all 4 booked it. They haven't heard from the other 2 families yet. I can picture it being more of a problem for them too... One couple both travel a lot for their jobs (she goes to London a lot) + they have a "cabin" in WV that they use a lot whenever they're both home (if 2000-2500 SF still counts as a cabin). Whatever, that's what they call it. Then the last family - he travels a good bit with his job - and she works at an elem. school as an aide & is working on her masters...so they're quite busy too.... So I don't know. Of the 4 that have said yes, 3 are SAHM's and 1 Mom works PT. I think I am the lone holdout of the whole bunch who still does my own house cleaning.......:sad2: (And it sucks!):laundy: But if I had a cleaning service I wouldn't be able to stash my money in my envelopes! :rotfl:

We are also in a "moderate drought" - if I could do a rain dance :dance3: I would have it rain on Mon, Wed & Fri between the hours of 10 - 2 with an hour off for lunch around 12:30 (so it wouldn't interfere with rush hour or weekends)!:goodvibes

OK, it's lunchtime on the east coast....let's talk!
Envelopes. They're a pretty crude system. They live hidden away in a drawer and they're labeled "2012 cruise fund" / "next years vacation spending $" and "more DVC points"!:lmao: Nothing fancy. No special scrollwork or calligraphy writing. Just plain old blue ballpoint pen. Anyway, I periodically take the money from the cruise fund one & deposit it into a bank acct. that we had to open in order to get an extra whatever % off on our home equity line (it's not thru our regular bank so I have to make a special stop). Anyway, we had to open this acct. with like $100 min. dep. & so since it was just sitting there I decided to use it as a vacation acct. Neither of the other 2 envelopes have much in them as we just went on vac. in Aug. & I emptied that one out. The DVC one is brand spanking new last month & is also pretty empty! I haven't decided what I shall do with that money until it amounts to enough to be useful!:rotfl2: I'm still hoping I can talk DH into some more points one day....but so in the meantime.... Most people have a Christmas fund - I suppose that's really what the DVC one should be.....but no-o-o! Not with me....I'm too goofy to make THAT MUCH SENSE!

It RAINED last night. (Oh no, I tell Cassie -at- 1:45am- it doesn't rain in September) First we get clouds and now the wet stuff? Somebody moved my house and forgot to tell me. May have to cancel beach walk with Anna tomorrow if that nasty wet stuff comes back. :sad2: Anyone want some rain. Me no likey here.

Annie - you have a tough decision. I'd have to vote for staying home as much as I'd want to go. - unless hubby will agree to help clean/prepare/keep your glass filled before his relatives arrive. He wants to go away, he's gotta help. Just my 2 cents. Chris's parents and some family are coming in a few weeks for their 50th anniversary. You can bet I won't be doing anything the weekend before except cleaning and preping menus and finding things for them to do. Let the stressing begin!!!

Seriously? It just doesn't rain there in September? Cool. We have been unusually dry tho...but I did not move your house!!!

As far as the Chesapeake Bay weekend...I would love a weekend away if it wasn't THAT weekend! I guess I was wondering if I was the only one who would think that was a tough weekend to go away. Sounds like between you & Katie I wouldn't be alone in that feeling of it just being added stress! (So that's good to know that I wouldn't be alone in that thinking!) It's just such a busy, busy time of year...and my neighbors really don't know what it's like to work FT AND have to clean their own houses AND (some of them) don't know what it's like to cook a turkey & dressing, cranberries, mashed and sweet pot., broccoli casserole, deviled eggs, rolls ETC. (I just always ask for someone else to bring dessert!) Some of them are Martha Stewart types & are very good cooks - but there are some who don't at all. I know, I'm beating a dead horse now. Anyway, my neighbor wants us to go ahead & make the ressie before they run out of rooms avail. for this special rate then we could cancel it later (up to 3 days before). The worst thing with that is that they chg. 1 nite on your card...not that I don't already have that crap going on with Disney tho!:rotfl2: That's just DIFFERENT!!!! LOL.... But I know once I make the ressie I will hate to cancel it! Big, big sigh.....

RJ - I'm so glad you told us Survivor starts tonight....we'd have totally missed it! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Gee, I thought I replied to this, but I dont see it. Hmmm???? Anyway...

We could use the rain out here...but I dont want it. of course the one time we have had rain in like the past month was during Saturdays soccer games last week.

I gotta admit, I have envelopes too! My paychecks go directly toward trips so when I cash them, I usually divide the money up into my envelopes. I make a new envelope every time I plan a trip. So like right now I know I only need a little more for my December trip. Feb needs a bit more, then I start getting serious about July. Although if I get a big check that is worth putting in the bank that will go in the savings account instead of the drawer but be marked for a certain trip. For example my check last month went right into the bank and I know I have that much money there for my Feb trip...plus whats in the envelope.:thumbsup2

Annie:

Program TIVO......it knows all, sees all! :thumbsup2

I wish they made PORTABLE TIVO's so I could take it with me everywhere I go!! :rotfl2: We actually just had to get a new dish / box last Sat. so we don't have everything all set up yet on the season pass....got some work to do!:goodvibes

Eh... m'ok. There are moments of "almost normal" & moments of awful. Thanks for askin! Can't really miss any work... Heart Walk is next Saturday... :scared1:

good thing I signed up for Pilates today. Guess I'd better stop resisting Cassie's Taekwon Do Grand Poobah and start taking classes there too. 10 months to get in shape? Holy Cr%p! I could just stop eating...:rotfl: :rotfl2: riiiiiiiiight!

Hey SE! Please to be sending pictures for web site!!! (Everyone will get their turn in the spotlight - even if I have to make stuff up)

 It's Friday:banana:

I don't know why the banana is dancing for Friday, but let's just go with it.

Annie: Did ya watch Survivor last night? We already have a fav and one we think is a loser! :rotfl2:

So, what's everyone doing this weekend?

I'm gonna break in my new crockpot today and make pot roast for dinner :)

RJ - YES! I think Survivor looks like it could be interesting this year (a couple of interesting personalities) - I like the China location - good to see some diff. terrain / cultures! (I still miss Stephanie from a couple years ago - I loved her!!) But I can't believe these dummies tho - what they WEAR to start out!! I mean, first of all, that one chick in the dress & heels - PUHLEASE!! They've done that before where they only let them wear whatever they're wearing - hello? Don't ya think ya might dress a little more practical for a trip around the world? And a bra! Wear a freakin' bra! Looks like boxer briefs win the majority for the men! :rotfl: Did you see how HUGE the gravedigger guy is?!?!?!? Oh MY!!! I thought they used Bobcats for that these days! Holy Moly!!! The platinum blonde chick w/o a bra from NY was a real pisser 'eh?! And I thought the mud wrestler chick was rather disturbing looking with those ring things in her lip...:scared1: DH didn't like "Chicken Man" & was glad to see him go.... OK, so who's your favorite?! The gay flight attendant? The NY City blonde? The surfer dude? The gravedigger? The Christian Radio talkhost?! Who, who? Tell me who!

Crockpot...hummmm..... That's a winter thing for me....guess that's coming soon 'eh?! I also do a chuck roast - I mix a Lipton Onion Soup mix with a can of mushroom soup (either the creamy or the golden) and a can of water & pour over it...MAKES IT'S OWN GRAVY THAT WAY!!:thumbsup2 (vegies are optional)!

Other crockpot favs:

15 bean soup (I soak 'em overnite & then add an onion, a can of diced tomatos & some ham or bacon) (serve with cornbread)

Sometimes I cook a round or sirloin steak in it with cream of mushroom soup & an onion sliced thin...very similar to the roast thing...

I have a recipe for a dry rub that I sometimes put on a pork roast - I rub it on the nite before and then I cook it all day with can of beer...then when I get home I add some BBQ sauce & make pulled pork!!:thumbsup2 EASY! (I make enough of the rub that I can get 3 x's out of it - just store it in an old jar!)

I have a recipe for mac & cheese in the crockpot that's not too bad...it's done in like 2 hrs tho so it's not an all day thing...

what else...oh, sometimes I put sauerkraut & pork spareribs in together to cook....another EASY one....

If I think of any others I'll post 'em!:thumbsup2

Oh, if anybody's interested in a recipe for a great dip for like a football party or tailgating or something I have a recipe I'm making on Sunday that's GREAT - it's called Chicken Wing Dip. I'm at work now & don't have it in front of me but I can post it later if anybody's interested...not hard & good to make ahead of time!
