Hey gang,

I love both projects! The bamboo floors are awesome! I love the light woods too. And what a difference those stairs make, Annie. You guys all have such nice houses.

Cheri, you are very talented. Those are neat!

I thought u guys would like that one!:lmao:

Dustbowl huh? Your picts didn't look so dusty! I know nothing of CA geography...the only time we were there was the 3 n. we spent at DL before our W. Coast cruise in '05!! I know I have some distant relatives (a Great Uncle, now deceased) in Bakersfield that I haven't seen since I was like 14 or 15 or something...I remember my cousin, Eddie...he was cute...(I grew up in WV - 2nd cousins are fair game there! :rotfl:)

I'm so-o ready for this day to be over...can't concentrate...keep logging in...

hey everyone,

just wanted to pop and say hi, since i have not been on since i do not remember when, i was moved to a new job in Yonkers,Ny. Which is right down real close to the Hudson River. I am typing this from Linda's new laptop.

Cheri: i know i am 2 days late but i love the new logos.

Rj: where in upstate ny is your friends house..

:rolleyes1 Um Sean...

I was talking about your house! :lmao:

:lmao:

Thats funny right there.

Going to cabin. Supposed to be packing.:headache:

Everyone have a safe and happy weekend. RJ & Beano you will make it to cabin someday if I have to kidnap you.

Scared now aren't you.

Annie - Ok so we were not real close to you. But not too far. I miss the Amish coming into our little neighborhood with the wagon piled with watermelon and corn. YUM!

Alright - gotta go pack. Then pick DD up at friends. Then pick DH up at train station since I took the truck from said station to fill it full of gas. And no, we won't discuss what that cost us.:sad2: Then back home to load up truck, meet up with friends, get neighbors 16 year old son who is going with us. Load up the dog, clothes, fishing gear and food. Thats about it.:thumbsup2

I of course packed books. That is what I am doing this weekend. Will post pictures - the boys are hiking to the Fire Lookout on top of ShutEye Peak. So pretty from 7000 feet. (Beano you been up there?)

Everyone post a picture of your weekend doings.

Have Fun!!

Funny you mentioned the Amish...they run a little market here (they come down I think Thurs - Sat or something & that's all that it's open). Anyway, I stopped there on my way home today so it's just funny you mentioned them.

I will try to remember to post picts. of my ho-hum do nothing weekend...

:rolleyes1 Um Sean...

I was talking about your house! :lmao:

:rotfl2: :lmao: that was a good one!!!
Haven't been able to get on the boards for a while (still catching up from being at WDW last week.)

We opened up the pool yesterday, so I spent part of today cleaning it (it doesn't look too bad--the solid safety covers are fantastic!)

Took 84 pizzas to Trevor's school today for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade pizza party (ahhh, so much fun to be on the PTSO board sometimes!) My car still smells like pizza. Since Trevor is in Kindergarten they didn't have the party, so we brought home one of the extra pizzas and the kids had pizza for dinner.

So last week we had a shocker the first day of our trip to FL!! We stopped in Jacksonville to stay overnight before heading to WDW the next morning. Stayed in a nice hotel, nice area, and well lit lot.
Well apparently that didn't matter to the idiot thief that decided they wanted to break into my Envoy!!!
They took a crowbar to the back driver's side window and pried it out! They then opened up the back door and proceeded to take everything out of the back of the SUV!!!

Well, unfortunately my entire CD collection was back there (18 years of CDs--including a LOT of hard to find and limited edition CDs, and some great Disney music as well.) All of my classic rock CDs, 80's rock, EVERYTHING I had!!! :( :( :( Well they took those, some small other items (power converter for a computer/electronics/etc.) some of Trevor's things, and Steve's Timberland sandals (which I might add really pissed him off because those were the shoes he had for our trip to Disney!)

There wasn't anything in there that they could see (not only are the windows tinted, we didn't leave anything in the car other than what is always in there) but someone decided that they needed these things (we are guessing that it was some drug addict looking for a quick sell to get a quick fix!)
So I'm out about $1500 (because insurance pays for the vehicle repairs but not the contents.) sigh....
We are just glad that is all that happened as it could have been much worse. That was one heck of a way to start a trip!

The cool news is that I won the auction for this one of a kind doll at the TB&D event at Epcot:
New%20Picture20.jpg

That made me very happy!!!

We are getting the car repaired Tuesday (I felt funny driving around with the back window sealed up with duck tape!!!) Hopefully they will do a good job with the repair.

LESSON--do not leave ANYTHING in your vehicle when staying somewhere overnight (even if it cannot be seen.)

Now I need to get an IPOD and repurchase my CDs and put them on the ipod so that I don't have to carry around the CDs with me anymore. Now just to figure out how to replace all of these (and to figure out what all was in the back of the Envoy!) I know it's going to take months to realize all that was back there that they took.

Cheri, I love the princess picture--that is so funny!!!

Sue Ellen

Hi, it's the pooh of the two. Oh, our poor Sue Ellen! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Many doses of pixie dust to you, yours, and the Envoy! Thank goodness you had most of you luggage inside! (And that no one was hurt!)

Annie, I am Anne, Betsy's mom. This is my first post but when I read the above and saw you live in MD, I just wanted to jump in and tell you we used to live in Baltimore, Linthicum, actually. It was very beautiful where we lived and except for the cold in the winter, we loved it. We had some bad memories too, but I would love to go back to see how much it has changes. My husband worked for Westinghouse out at Friendship Airport. I understand it is no longer called that.

Hi Anne!!

Hi Annie!!

Hi Sean and Linda!!

:grouphug:

TRM - I don't recognize that name, but I have hiked in that area a number of times. 7000 is the perfect altitude in summer! Mild weather, and the air isn't gettin' too thin yet. :thumbsup2

SueEllen - So sorry to hear about your break-in. I have a pretty extensive CD/MP3 collection, and I would be more than happy to make a bunch of CD's for you. I don't know how much we have in common when it comes to our taste in music, but I'll do what I can! Send me an email and LMK what some of your favorites are; I'll try and replace them for you. Not the same as an original, I know, but still... :)

Oh, and TRM - I really don't think you want ME to post pics of my weekend, since I am working this weekend so those wouldn't be very pleasant pics. ;)

:wave2: Hi Anne! I'm afraid I'm not real familiar with that area of MD - of course I've heard of Linthicum, I've just never actually been there (yet)! My DH has to drive sometimes to the Jessup / Ellicott City area for work & I think that's sorta close. I believe the airport you mentioned is now what's called Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (or BWI). We're using BWI this summer when we go to FL. We live pretty much an hours drive from all 3 major airports in the DC area so we sorta bounce around between using Dulles and BWI. I'm sure the area has changed a lot since you were here last!

MD is very pretty - especially in the mountains in western MD - and yes, the cold weather DOES get old after about November!:rotfl: I'm glad it's finally warming up (supposed to hit 88 all 3 days this weekend)!:cool1:

Are you going on the cruises next summer too? Guess we'll get to meet then if you are! Talk to you later!!

Annie (technically LeeAnn):)

Sue Ellen - that's so awful - I'm very sorry that happened to you! :sad1: They probably saw out of state tags & figured you were on vacation & might have left stuff in your car for the night. I had a car stolen once upon a time - what a shocker to come out of work & no car!! The police found it down in a not so good area of DC a couple of days later all wrecked  We did not have the same taste in music tho so they didn't steal my tapes (this was back in the 80's pre-CD). They DID however steal my drycleaning that I was about to drop off after work...I clearly remember telling my little dry cleaner guy that they stole my favorite dress & he was like "OH NO-O! Not the PINK one?!" (say this with an asian accent & it's funnier)!! (I'm guessing the pink one was HIS favorite!:rotfl2: ) Anyway, I'm sorry and am glad you didn't leave anything else in the car that you really NEEDED!

Hi Anne! Nice to "hear" from you.

Sue Ellen: so sorry to hear about your car. I would have be so scared and pi**ed off. Like Beano, Chris and I have a bunch of CD's and he has a ton of music on his iPod. I'm sure he can make you CD's. Just let us know.

I don't think any of you want to see my weekend plans: me laying on the couch down with phuemonia. Doc says I am to be laying low for 10 days or if I get worse I could end up in the hospital. I told him I have two kids to chauffer around and house to take care of (they do eventually run out of underwear yanno) and, oh yeah, I GOTTA GO TO WDW IN 3 WEEKS! He said, "well then, I guess you'd better take good care of yourself." The man's a real geen-ee-us. (guess I shouldn't have helped the kids clean up the neighbor's house who got TP'd last night. It's the 3rd time, they're retired and the sweetest people, the lady is dying - I mean come on! I just had to help at least a little bit! )

Cheri,
Get better!!! You get some rest and take it easy (the kids will just have to understand--tell 'em no rest for mom, no trip to WDW in June!!!) Sorry to hear you are down and out, but hopefully with plenty of rest and some meds they will get you better in no time.

Spent most of today vaccuming the pool to get it ready to swim. It's ready, but COLD, COLD water :cold: It felt like I was putting my feet into ice water in a giant cooler!! Hopefully our 90 degree temps over the next few days will warm up the water somewhat. I think I got slightly sunburned out there today.
We have a lot of yardwork to do as well, but we'll get to that soon enough.

We are taking the kids to see Pirates tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing this one (I hear it's the best one yet.) popcorn::

Beano and Cheri, I'll get my list of missing CDs together (at least what I can remember) and maybe you'll have a few (I'll shoot you an email.) Thank you for offering (that's so awesome of you!) It's mostly classic rock bands, 80's metal, lots of Aerosmith, every Bon Jovi, some Boston, Eric Clapton, some Garth Brooks, Alabama, lots and lots and lots of Disney CDs. All total I believe it was about 70 CDs. It was a pretty big variety of stuff :sad1: My next goal is to get an iPod so I can put the replacements on it (actually I might break down and try the zune.) Might not replace the originals, but having the music is what's important.

Annie, I can't imagine coming out and finding the car completely missing!!! Oh my that must have been one heck of a suprise!
