Ugh. Day 5 without power or phone service. Came home from Cape COd vacation 3 days early and staying with in-laws. THrew out two freezers worth of food and will chuck the fridge contents sometime today.

ConEd website says our power was restored, so I called them to assure them that it was not. After checking, they agreed (they are so magnanimous). They assured me that I would have power by midnight tonight.

At least everyone is safe and I had a great Fantasy Football Draft!!

Mine is not a long day, I'm trying to write Troubleshooting procedures for something I have never seen powered up, using 4 schematics and a cabling diagram. Its causing me some consternation. Thanks guys

As a Helpdesk Manager I'll help you out with the troubleshooting process.

1. Did you check the cable?
2. No, really, did you check the cable?
3. I know you think its plugged in but can you please look at the cable?
4. I know you're just saying that! Go look at the actual cable this time!
5. Now that you've plugged in the cable, turn it on.
6. Push the Power Button.
7. No, that's an LED light, the button will go in when you press it.
8. No, that's the DVD Eject button.
9. Yes, the one with Power written below it.
10. Did you press it or just touch it?
11. Press it.
12. The light isn't coming on because you didn't plug in the cable, did you?

I have no clue why more people on my team don't snap and kill our customers.

Crazy day at work.
I've been busy since before I even got here - an opposing party finally got around to returning a call from a message I left yesterday as I was pulling in to the parking garage. Moved quickly from one issue to the next for the next four hours, and when I came up for breath realized that I'd missed calling in to a conference call with a judge and opposing party. Ugh.

Now waiting for the judge to call back to do some damage control.
