Anybody catch NCIS last night? Pretty good season finale! Interesting set up for next season, I can't wait to find out what was in that file. I'm sure Fed probably knows already though.

NCIS LA had a good set up for next season too.

My 2 cents on a couple of things from the last few days.

The price of flying is driven by the price of crude oil. Current prices have been high because the price of crude is high, it is starting to drop. I use this link. http://www.marylandgasprices.com/crude_chart.aspx, to follow the tread of crude for work. If the price of crude keeps dropping we should see prices for flights drop.
I fly Southwest, I get mileage for Rapid Rewards as well as from my Southwest Credit Card, same as Disney Credit Card. When I get enough points I get a free flight.

I have seen alot of TV shows I like get canceled. If I'm really into them, I look to see if there are any book that they were based on and read them. To be honest, I just hope that some of the new shows will be something I like and can watch. If not, well, I watch way to much TV as it is. so it might be a good thing.

I really need to listen to the podcast, I heard the 1st one and now I'm way behind. (Stupid TV shows)

I know what you mean about the stuff on the “telle”. If I ever start liking one show or another, it will either get canceled or the writers run out of ideas all too soon and jump the shark. Oh well… More time for my Dis & music addictions.

I agree. That's forced me to get much more into comedies in the last few years, as oppose to dramas/sci-fi shows and the like. Plus, with Netflix, if a show does have staying power you can always get the previous seasons on DVD and catch up in a couple weeks...

We have an outside vendor in at work yesterday and today. I've been busy babysitting him and haven't been on here much. But the worst part was when someone mentioned to him that my boss is on vacation. He asked where and I told him Disney World. He responds "Disney World? That's not a vacation! Too expensive, too many people, always running from one thing to another and never getting to rest." Clearly, he's not one of us.

I just don't understand some people.

Tomorrow is DW's birthday, (yes, you lurking, snooping DisMoms, we do remember occasionally =P ), gotta swing by Wallyworld after work and pick up a filing cabinet after work for her present (hey, she needs one!). DD is getting her a log cabin lego set. I just gotta figure out a what to make for her birthday dinner....

And if she's disappointed in getting things she wanted this year, next year I think I'll use the surprise trip as her present.

On a related note, Berry will be happy to know that I'm taking DW our for karaoke Friday night, and we will have someone there to record me and a special friend singing a song from a naval disaster movie. I'll try to have it posted on here sometime this weekend.

Hope everone is having a great Wednesday.

So today is DD's 7th birthday. With the way the month of May is going, we are unable to have our traditional family B-Day dinner for her tonight, but we are giving her the week as make-up.

Yesterday she chose tacos (she loves Taco Tuesday) and on Friday we are celebrating her birthday in style with pizza and brownies. (her choice) We are fortunate that she is understanding at a young age with all of the activities going on. Of course knowing her, I'll be hearing about this in 10 years as well.

Went to the Mavericks game last night. Wow, what a game for Dirk Nowitski. I was still not feeling good (upper respiratory infection), but there was no way I was going to miss the game.

This was DS first time to see a Mavericks basketball game. He may be jaded now and anything less that the Western Conference Finals could be a let down.

For you Food network nerds, I took a cab out to Keegan Gerhardt's restaurant yesterday to pick up something for my kids. He was there and couldn't have been nicer or more flattered that someone would make a special trip to see him. Took photos, signed autographs for all three kids & chatted with me about challenges. If you're in Denver & a fan, worth the trip to D-bar desserts!

I enjoy talking to those people - showing them what we do and how we afford it. Explaining that the most common mistake is taking only a single day at the park or attempting to find a way to justify every dollar spent. Once you explain that it's not a financial and time-constricting challenge, but an investment where you are building memories that will last a lifetime, a decision where you only stay for a day or so or try to wrestle with your wallet to gain the most "fun" out of the day seems pointless.

*note* Skype: easy enough to install (for now. I'm looking at you, Microsoft) so if any dad is hung up on this (like I was) don't be. prattpak & ajritz were patient enough to walk me through the process.

Depending on the reviews of my "performace" as it were, I'd love to do it again. (so long as the supreme commander galactic McAwesomeville is okay with it.)

BAH! I'm the dork who had it on my calendar, but completely forgot. I guess that's the problem with doing as much stuff as we do - occasionally the fun stuff gets dropped through the cracks. Glad that I could participate. Aaron - you are a master at keeping on topic. That's something that I rarely have the ability to maintain. Thank you for inviting me to join and I look forward to the next opportunity (I'll set reminders, too!).
