It is so worth it for the location, being able to watch the fireworks from the beach, and the atmosphere was top-notch. I recommend taking the boat over to MK, it was nice.

We looked into the DVC a few years ago, but after DD2 was born, that pretty much killed that. HOWEVER....MIL and stepFIL ended up purchasing after their trip in February. Somehow, I think we will be able to benefit from this one way or another.

Congrats on having In-laws that "get it" on the DVC. You'll definitely get your use out of their's I'm sure!

My other excuse is, I can stay in Deluxe this coming year because my youngest daughter will still be under age 3 and won't cost us anything! I figure it will be the least expensive time in my life to stay in Deluxe. :thumbsup2

My parents have Marriott timeshares and they used to trade on the same network as DVC...unfortunately DVC jumped from Internet to RCI and we can no longer trade into DVC....

So am I crazy to even be considering booking Poly for a high season holiday peak week for next year?

I mean - it will be our first week at WDW and also our first time staying on property....shouldn't I do it right the first time???

That's what we did...mind you after that we can't afford anything but the values, but hey, the Poly is worth it.

That's what we did too, though it wasn't during the high season. The Poly is wonderful, and the proximity to the MK and the monorail probably do make it worth it during a time when having transportation flexibility is important (you've got access to boats, monorail, and buses from the Poly).

If I has it to do over again, I probably would have chosen a moderate or the Swan for our trip. But we were traveling during a much less busy time, so those other considerations were less critical. And if we'd held some of that money back, we'd be returning to WDW much sooner.

I'm also toying around with the idea of buying a smaller DVC contract and going every other year or so (since we always go around peak time). I don't know if I like the idea of every other year though...just to make it more affordable.

That is the one thing about being on the boards here....there are always so many ideas that are talked about that gets your mind thinking overtime! :rotfl:

Hey! What happened to my peaceful lazy river?! Dang kids. :rotfl2:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I didn't even make the playoffs. So all I can say is:

Playoffs?! PLAYOFFS?! Dont' talk about...playoffs?! You kiddin' me?! Playoffs?

Playoffs?? Who needs 'em. we prefer a semi abitrary system of bowls. Why have a single winner when you can have many? If everyone's special, no one is..

Stupid Mods, I log off and 20 min later they shut us down.

Congrats Andy! You too Carl!

Ahh Hah! I see your plan. Start insulting the mods now to hoepfully get this one shut down sooner.

A good speech is not necessarily a long speech.

Ask Lincoln.

Congrats and nice job! :thumbsup2
Don't however, ask Lincolns advice on which plays to visit. Too soon?

All you need to do is follow my plan.

Step One Read copious amounts of the disboards
Step two ????????
Step Three Massive amounts of profit
Step Four DVC

Holy Moly.... over 150 pages today.

When you guys put your mind to it, you can do anything.

I have to admit, I did not read the last 140 pages... was there anything interesting? :rotfl2:

So I sign up for this forum, join DIS Dad's, and within the first 24 hours DDC IX goes Ape Peanut Butter!! I was really concerned that I'd have to read over 100 pages of posts everyday to keep up with you crazies.

BTW, all of my first 6 posts were in DDC IX. That's 100% Do I win something?

Troy P. vs. Ray Ray :thumbsup2

I'm on Team Pahlahmahlu. Go Stillers!

Hey, where's Perry?

Cheers,
Indy

I totally missed the closing of the IX and several pages of X...man...I can't keep up so I think I will just start clean here LOL:rotfl2:

OK guys. I think I'm out for a while. I'm off to the doctor to get my right elbow looked at. I suspect he's going to order an X-Ray. I think there are some bone chips in there that have gotten loose.

Ouch. I would like to second the duct tape:)
Thanks for the congrats everyone! First of all I want to thank God, my creator and the reason I'm here. Thanks to my wife for putting up with my Disney addiction and for being a wonderful mother to our son who I'm sure will follow in my footsteps down the path of Disneymania.

It was a hard fought battle today and I put a good game plan together. I just had to go out there and execute it and just hope all the pieces fell into place. When I had to leave for lunch, I really thought it was going to slip away, but then when I came back in the 4th quarter, it was obvious that I was still right there in the hunt. I had to get my head back into the game and stick with it. Stopher baited us into thinking he didn't care about closing threads anymore, but when you have a perennial championship caliber competitor like him, you've always got to bring your A game to compete.

Thanks everyone, this is a proud moment, but I'd like to announce my retirement from future final post competition. If I do compete in the future it will be recreationally in the pro-am circuit. This competition really took a lot out of me and I'm not sure I could ever go through it again.:thumbsup2

Until the end of X :lmao:

I am not big on speeches. How ever I would like to take this 1,000th post and say thank you to all of the great friends I have made here in the DDC !!! There have been many posts and speeches about the great Dads in this unique club, so I dont have to repeat any of that. I just want to say Thank You for sharing your Disney addiction with me!!!:thumbsup2

Well said. Short and to the point.

Yes, you should do it right the first time. Poly would be a great choice.

100% of your posts are in one disdads thread. Hmmm I think that means you get your "i have been indoctrinated award". You have your choice for prizes. A rare and fabulous opportunity to buy your own shirt, should Don ever order more or a make your own Origami Kit. I've disguised the Origami kit as ordinary paper and hidden it in your house should you choose that option.

There will be no Peace between Us, You, from the House of Steelers and I, from the House of Ravens! Let the Heavens Ring with Our Nemesisisisisis! For Now and Forever I Declare this to be True! .

Not to be presumptuous, but is C) all of the above a choice?

Wow you found the hidden option C. Not nearly as exciting as a hidden mickey, but we have limited resources, and since "the incident" by law I'm no longer allowed to hide mickeys. Congratulations. Enjoy both of your exciting and fabulous prizes. (Andy may have princess-trapped the origami kit though)

Tornado Warning!!! Does it ever stop??!!!:scared1: Closet here we come!

Made it to page 10. Hijo de un comedor de la galleta de Beverly

I really like the DDC X Slogan. The .wav is the logon/log off for my computer. :surfweb:

It's like being within $100 of your Showcase Showdown! And I missed the "Andy" reference.

Hoosier.... :lmao:

*from Wikipedia*

In St. Louis, Missouri, the word is used in a derogatory fashion in similar context to "hick" or "white trash".[2]

"Hoosier is a low-life redneck, somebody you can recognize because they have a car on concrete blocks in their front yard and are likely to have just shot their wife who may also be their sister."[2]

I think that describes Nemesis theduck quite nicely. (See, I did a pun with your name, too.)

Hey! Playoffs?! PLAYOFFS?! Dont' talk about...playoffs?! You kiddin' me?! Playoffs?
