Finally a place for us! I can't believe I've never seen this page before! Been posting and lurking around Disboards since August of 2010.

We are new DVC members and are coming home to BLT August 21-26, 2011!

I am happily married and we have two wonderful children.

Here is a picture of us from this Easter! We can't wait to go to Disney. This will be our daughters 3rd trip to a Disney Property. She was at DL at 5 months old and DW at 13 months old. This is our son's first trip and he will be just under 6 months old a the time.

Lovely family - :welcome:, grab a beer from the fridge, and make yourself at home.

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:My daughter and I were singing the Imagination song and my DW , bless her, says "OOOOOHHHHH I GET IT!!! I understand why he's called Figment"!!! :lmao::lmao:

I love that woman!!

Finally saw Tron (the original) tonight. If I had seen that when I was a kid, my mind would have been blown. The graphics were awesome! Ending kinda just petered out.

And my DD3 spotted the Hidden Mickey in it.

I brought this over from the Princess Pic thread, he's my Hero:

I love the look on his face, and the phrase Jasmine's Kiss.

Like, "Jasmine's Kiss!, A flying monkey!"
He LOVES his Jasmine Kiss.
Jasmine's Kiss is a positive expression.
"Jasmine's Kiss! A Free Dole Whip?!"

We do the 13 hour car ride. We leave in the evening to drive down.
Our drive is about 16 hours. We've left at 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 3 a.m. Generally, we arrive in Florida a day before our Park Trip, and stay with relatives, or this last trip we stayed at Lake Buena Vista Hotel & Spa on day "0" of our trip. Previously, we stayed at Lake Buena Vista on Day 7 of our trip.

Duct tape and Benadryl :thumbsup2
On the back of Benadryl, it says "may cause excitibility in some children"
ALL THREE of my boys fall into THAT category. Not the "may cause marked drowsyness" category.

I've seen Tron... Let's call it TOO many times. I will still watch it whenever it's on.

Looks like a fun trip. Have a great time.

By the way they say there are like 50 different possible rides on the new Star Tours. Make sure you thoroughly test that theory.:thumbsup2

MAN LAW!
If Beverly and Peanut Butter are our universal swear words, "Jasmine's Kiss" can be our universal positive exclamation.

"Jasmine's Kiss, we had a wonderful day in the Magic Kingdom!"

I will definitely second this one!:thumbsup2

I think any other favorite princess' name could be used in place of Jasmine also.

I've missed a few new members this weekend, so Welcome to one and all....

I had a chance today to talk to my co-worker on the phone, (today was her day off, mine is tomorrow), and she is doing preety good, just still in shock over what happened. She's not in pain, just letting it all sink in. The major thing is she will likely have a nasty scar in the end, she is just really upset that it was the face, but she was able to crack a joke about it with me. Helped out the boss again today with the paperwork, as you can imagine with any workplace accident. It hasn't been easy, as this was more or less a freak accident, and hard to put in most categories...:confused3

She might want to check into her insurance.. Some companies will pay for plastic surgery if it is a self esteem/mental health issue. If the scar on her face will affect her mental health or well being, they will pay for it. I hope when she went in for the cut on her face they brought in a plastic surgeon for a consult!:thumbsup2

Once again thanks for the welcome! We will be there August 21-26. We were just there last October and that is our preferred travel time but we had to plan a trip before September due to our vacation points.

Listened to podcast 1 and great info on restaurants. Got a few I want to try now. We have ADR for Ohana and we've already been to California grill.

That's very Jasmine's Kiss of you... SECOND!

Morning guys,

Brian,

Here are some choices for the wager. They consistently show up on Top 10 lists. Was going to send this in a PM but thought it could be useful to others that might venture to Miami. A (*) are my top favorites but feel free to ignore to try another place. Probably will have to make it a lunch if that works for you.

Go Heat.

The Capital Grille: Really good place but expensive. Mostly meat and potatoes. *
444 Brickell Avenue, Miami (305) 374-4500
thecapitalgrille.com

2 Chef's: Local to me and have eaten here many times. It is a small place in a shopping center but don’t let it fool you. Well respected chefs and very good food. Thirty minutes south of Downtown though. *
8287 South Dixie Highway, South Miami (305) 663-2100 ‎
twochefsrestaurant.com‎

Versailles Restaurant: Real Cuban (not Bongos Cuban). Political epicenter for Cuban-Americans in Miami. Would be real interesting if Castro dies while we are eating there.
3555 Southwest 8th Street, Miami (305) 444-0240
www.versaillescuban.com

Rusty Pelican: Food is good but people go here for the atmosphere. It is on the water and more laid back. *
3201 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne (305) 361-3818
miami.therustypelican.com

China Grill: Another place I like but haven’t been there in a while.
404 Washington Avenue #100, Miami Beach (305) 534-2211
www.chinagrillmgt.com

Mango's Tropical Cafe: Bizarre place on South Beach. I’ve included it for the ahh, ahem, yea, the atmosphere. Check out the Website. By mistake I walked in with DD and her friend when we were looking for lunch. We laughed more than we ate.
900 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach - (305) 673-4422
www.mangostropicalcafe.com

Azul Restaurant: Haven’t eaten here and I am not a fan of the Mandarin but friends like it.
500 Brickell Key Drive, Miami - (305) 913-8254
www.mandarinoriental.com

Morton's, Smith and Wollensky’s etc. We have them here too. Not much different than what is in Chicago or New York.

Blue Door Fish at Delano: Haven’t eaten here but the Delano is a cool place.
1685 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach - (305) 674-6400
http://www.delano-hotel.com/en-us/#/explore/?id=/delano-miami-blue-door-fish/

The Forge: Used to be one of the top places in Miami with an unbelievable wine list. A number of years ago there was a big fire there and destroyed the place including the wine cellar. All sorts of problems getting it back up and running. Haven’t eaten here for a long time and I don’t know anyone that has. Could be chancy when you take into account a hyper-expensive menu.
432 Forty First Street, Miami Beach (305) 538-8533
theforge.com

I would have added Chef Allen’s but they are closing. We could do Joe’s if you want. There are also some nice places in the Upper Keys (Key Largo) but it is a little less than a 2 hour drive from Downtown.
