Hi Everyone,

I'm Chris (yes, another one :lmao:) and I'm a Disney addicted dad. My "passion" for the great Disney vacation is great indeed, causing more than one funny look and shaking of heads from family and friends . As such, I have found my way to the sympathetic land of those who are also just as crazy about the mouse :worship:.

Although I went to WDW a few times (3) as a youngster (grew up in FL), I didn't get into the groove until I met my DW and she decided to be my bride :lovestruc. We went on a Disney Cruise for our honeymoon and spent a couple days at WDW (MY Disney resort, her's in DLR ). Luckily, they had a DVC channel that fed evil thoughts of ownership into my DW's brain, so we decided to buy into the DVC while at WDW (this was sort of a wedding present to each other and my B-Day present (Jan 2005). Our real wedding presents to each other were Disney watches ;)).

Thanks to the power of the DVC, we have been to WDW five times and my family has been to DLR twice. I missed the first trip (to DLR) with them (2008) due to being deployed to the middle east (Navy Reserve). The second was this last May, and was my very first trip to Disneyland. :cool1: So in seven years of marriage, we've had seven trips...cool!

In our family, I consistently brainwash my DW and DD5 with ride and queue music, and I make sure we don't miss an episode of Travel Channel specials on all things Disney (on the fence about the new HGTV yard show, though). I also managed to turn my DD into a major Star Wars fan (unintentional, I assure you :littleangel: ). When I showed her the connection between Star Wars and Disney, she was very excited (she enjoyed watching the Jedi Academy at DLR).

Future plans? We recently moved to Portland, Oregon area from Colorado Springs, so I'm looking forward to getting our "forever" house and pimping it out Disney style :cool2: :thumbsup2

Please accept my application into the DIS Dad's club, and let me know if you need any additional information.

Looks like you found the right place to sit and chill a bit...

Thanks guys! Pratt, MY DW is from Beaverton, so we moved her back home. Personaly, Colorado is the best State ever! I LOVE it there!!! Alas, I'll just have to be the DIS Dad emissary in the Pacific NW. :thumbsup2

My sweet wife returned home from California very late Wednesday night (really Thursday morning) and then I was off yesterday to a customer meeting in central Ohio, but back home again before the kids went to bed.

Oh and my personal email was hacked on Sunday night... claiming I was in London, mugged, stranded... blah blah blah... same scam I've seen so many times before. Idiot hackers... so add that fun to my list of "no time" too. Oh well... "life's a beach" as my aunt says... you just have to roll with the tide sometimes.

Have a great day guys!

So, you mean that I shouldn't have sent you that $1800??? Dang. I could have used it this week at WDW. :lmao: Glad that you are back and hope that you have a great time with your Scout group.

Yeah, that does sound like a pretty dangerous situation. :lmao::rotfl2:

On another note, I'd made a post on here a few days ago about how my mom was starting to seriously look into getting a family trip together sometime next year. I talked to her last night and she was excited to tell me that she wants to stay at the new Animation resort. I kind of wanted to test her to see how much research she'd been doing, so I said that would be nice, but I don't know if it will all be open by then (she's talking about early Dec). She told me that they are already taking reservations for next summer. She passed that test with flying colors. My next thought was that since my family is just me, DW and DS and we really would like to have our own space on vacation I made the comment to her that those rooms are family suites. We will be traveling with a group of 8 and would need multiple rooms anyway (and I'm sure my Sis and BIL will want a room of their own as well) so I asked if she really thought it would be cost effective to get 2 or 3 suites. She then told me that the Little Mermaid building was just going to be regular rooms and not suites. I don't know if this is a true statement or not, but either way, I'm impressed that she's really working on doing some research. I'd be kind of interested in seeing the new resort, but I really enjoy staying at POP. I guess if we're doing value, I'd like to go back there, but it is her trip and she will likely be paying for most of it, so I'll be more than happy to stay wherever she wants. I think the ball is definitely rolling on the possibility of me actually being able to see Disney at Christmas time not just once, but 2 years in a row!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

:thumbsup2

Welcome.

Well, we made some really good time today. We're at Fed's exit right on the Ga/Fla line. Just sat through a HUGE thunder storm with more in store for later tonight. We're wiped out, so we're thinking of hitting the sack early and getting up early in hopes of getting the majority of the day tomorrow in the parks. I heard from DVCzerfs and they are behind us up on I 81, but all is well with them too. Gotta give some big props to Fed; he gave us some info on hotels here then called us a couple of times on the way down to give us some, um, "traveler's information." :worship::cool2: Ya'll have a great evening.

I saw the greatest man invention ever made at the liquor store today:confused3

It was a bag of shots in little plastic packs like condiments come in :cool1:I saw vodka and rum:cool1: Next trip just got a whole lot cheaper, just add coke:lmao::goodvibes

Great idea, unless it's Popov vodka. Yuck!

I'm going to need to setup a savings fund for you guys.

Or just win the Lottery.

Here's my promise - if (when) I win the lottery (must be greater then $2,000,000) - I will buy a DISdad (through a careful selection process) a DVC membership.

Oh, and our lotteries, here in Canada - are 100% tax free.

Another great idea.

You better check your dates. Im leaving in 113!! Oct 8th!

Another great idea. We are going then as well.

I just had an interesting experience at lunch. I was in the drive thru line at Subway. They have 1 window where you pay and a second window to pick up the food. I was at the second window waiting on my sandwich when all of a sudden my truck rocks forward then it rocks forward again. I look in the mirror and a guy just pulled up to pay. Apparently he took exception to the fact that my truck was long enough that he had to reach forward a little bit to hand them his money so he was trying to push me out of his way. :confused3 Actually I'm not sure he even knew why he stopped. I never once saw him look forward, he just kept trying to creep forward, rocking my truck with every attempt. One of the many reasons I'm glad I have a cushion hitch on the back of my truck. That's the second time someone has ran into the back of me and I've escaped without so much as a scratch. I just have to scrape a little bit of paint of my hitch. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Idiots should not be permitted a license. What were they driving?

Welcome and help yourself to the snacks and whatever else you can find.

Some people on here tend to find it hard to stay on topic :rolleyes1 but if you mention BACON you can usually get their attention.

Due to the interest of one of the Greatest Man inventions ever made, The bag of shots:woohoo:

Next week when I go to the store, I will buy the Rum one, and Take one for the Team, and become the lab rat and try it out:lmao: I'll give a detailed report on this product:woohoo:

"Traveler's information":lmao::lmao::lmao: New name for that:lmao::lmao:

We're happy for the rain with all the fires going on around here (Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia is pretty much blanketed with smoke)...but the lightening can stop any time it wants (sparks the fires)...

You guys have a safe remainder of the trip---you should be through the "target area" prior to the "festivities" getting under way:lmao::lmao:

Oh, and welcome new guys!!

Wow...free luggage? Man, that knocks the CAA out of the park, which sucks, seeing it basicly the SAME COMPANY:rotfl2: We get the Storytime and parking pass, and the discount booklet, some luggage tags, and that's about it. Way back in '03, we got a plush Mickey, and Seaworld passes at Par (when the dollar wasn't so good). But I agree with the sentiment, it's so worth booking through them. Our TA is really good too, and always looks after us well, and helped get me the best deal available.

Yep, I do the same. I feel bad for not using any of the DIS Dad's TA's, but I do like the perks I get from AAA (and our trip was booked before I knew any of us were TA's anyway). I still make my own ADR's, but I had a change I wanted to make to our reservation a couple of weeks ago and it was great because all I had to do was take about 30 seconds to send an e-mail to my TA and she took care of it for me. No sitting on the phone with a CM!:woohoo:

When we were at AAA getting our van of doom repaired (beverly check engine light is STILL on!) we looked at the Disney luggage as well. 'cept that they didn't offer to give us free luggage if we booked through them. Meh - too bad for them. I'd still like some new luggage though.

It seems that Jan. is the BIG AAA WDW push month, if you booked during the month of Jan you got the luggage + a $25 WDW GC, plus we got Kids play, eat & stay free deal, since it was offered by Disney for our dates:cool1:

So look in Jan to see if they are offering any deals and grab them:woohoo:
