May as well add me to the list. I have this same disease that afflicts the rest of you. While I am an infrequent poster here on the DIS I am a habitual reader.

WELCOME to the club!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1:

In Honor of Chris (DisDadDoc)..............ACCIDENTAL OWNAGE !!!!!!!!!!!

What a GREAT weekend. Friday night, I stayed up late folding laundry and had a Smithwicks (Pronounced "Smittick's" apparently.:drinking1 ). Saturday, I woke up to a thunderstorm at 5:51, and I was outside working on fixing the kids' swingset, and got a great sunburn. Had a birthday party for the DW Saturday afternoon. Got the kiddos to bed and CRASHED at 10:03.

Church this A.M., went to Lowe's & Target, played some Epic Mickey, finished fixing the swingset, bbq'd Chicken, Burgers, and veggies (for the week), and ate some of the apple pie my wife made.

So, GREAT weekend! :thumbsup2

I am happy to hear some better news. This family seems to have a very good support system. You, your family, and friends are very good people!

I am currently down 89 pounds since May of last year. I had lap-band surgery and am working very hard at it. Thanks!

Congrats! I made a bit of a lifestyle change myself two years ago and I'm currently down about 65 pounds. Haven't followed any specific diet, just cutting down on sodas and fast food and trying to hit the gym at least 4-5 times a week. :banana:

Okay DisDads, listen up!

I have a little "pay it forward" that I want to offer you.
I appreciate all the info, camaraderie, and entertainment offered here.
I will have a drawing next Sat 4/16/11 for the following:
http://www.steveandamysly.com/tag/monorail/

If you would like to be entered there are only 2 requirements:
1) you must be registered on Disboards.com and a Disdads member at the time of this post
2) you must email me with "Disdads hat" in the subject line and give your name and screen name (pcole2 at gmail.com)

Thanks and good luck!

Wanted to make sure people see this so they get a chance to enter. Yes, I've entered, yes I'd like to win, no I don't understand probability and what happens to my chance of winning if more people enter.

Hey guys. Sorry for the futzing on Disdads.com, but I finally figured out how to get the pics to show properly.

I posted my pseudo-trip report from our Spring Break (non-Disney) trip over there.

Hope you like it.

Hey guys, just thought I'd share - Disney-fan blogger DragynAlly did an Email interview with me last week. She's just posted the interview on her blog. I hope I represented us well. You can read the interview here: http://www.dragynally.com/

Well done, sir. I thought it looked very good.

So last night I was watching tv with DW and she switched to a DVC informercial
that she had DVR'd. (yeah I know aren't those things mainly used to skip commercials) It was actually kind of disappointing. The whole point of the informercial seemed to be "you can use your DVC points at lots of non-Disney places." While that's great, I'm guessing the majority of people that buy into DVC do it because they are going to go to Disney frequently. I wish they would have spent more time showing the perks of DVC ownership when at Disney rather than focusing on I used DVC points to go to London.

I think part of this may be the new rules that have gone into effect regarding resale points. Points bought through resale after... I think it was March 21... are not eligible for use in several places where they were before. Points bought directly from Disney remain eligible for those other places. Disney may be trying to play up that angle in order to draw people away from the resale market, perhaps.

So, after a great week at WDW, I have almost finished my trip report (see link in signature). But, I have not had time to read all the pages and catch up.

I just updated the theme at Disdads.com
I'd love to hear what people think. I can still switch back to the old theme, but I think we're better off not using iconic Disney characters all over the site.

I was alittle worried on todays phase of my son's room:scared1: Wallpaper & A 6x4 Dino Mural:scared1: What do I know about wallpaper (nothing:lmao:) Once again my Auto Body expr. showed up:goodvibes I can now say wallpaper is pretty easy to do (I guess over the years all the giant hood decals probably helped:confused3)

Only problem now is I have to order 1 more roll to finish, How was I supossed to know there would be so must waste matching the pattern:confused3:rolleyes1

:dancer::welcome::dancer: To The Dis Dads:cool1:

A Little bit of good news today. Allison and Jacob are being moved out of PICU and into a regular room together. Allison says she feel a tingling in her legs like they are asleep but still can not move them yet. I am hoping that this is a good sign. She is scheduled to have surgery again on Wednesday to fix the L3 fracture in her back. At some point, I am not sure when, they are going to be moving her to Columbus into a rehab center. Keep the prayers coming. There is a long way to go yet.

This morning at church was very emotional for everyone. You could feel the void left by Richard and his family. Several of the men were trying to do the little things that Richard would do each service. His viewing is scheduled for tomorrow evening and the funeral is going to be Tuesday at our church. It is going to be a big service I am sure. Today there are 2 car washes going on by the Marching Band to help raise money, and the spaghetti dinner is still scheduled for Friday evening. They were ablet o get EVERYTHING donated for Friday by local grocery stores so that whatever is made will be total profit.

Pastor Dave at church this morning kept saying that he has never seen strength in anyone like he has Dale during this whole situation. I agree she is handling everything with strength and grace. Well, I need to get moving and get the kids to AWANA...thanks for listening and praying for the Schwab family!!!

Thanks for the update, Glad to hear they are making progress, and Hope they make a FULL & Speedy Recovery, keeping them in our prayers.:goodvibes

First impression was too much white. I liked the old page. But I do understand your concern over not using iconic Disney characters. I think as long as nobody's profiting off the use of Disney characters, though, you're OK.

It's a small change but you might think about removing "DISDads Home of Man Laws and Cheese Balls" from above the banner. That'd slide everything up so you'd be able to read more on the front page without scrolling.

Yeah - that would take some php hacking that I'm not quite ready to tackle just yet. That line is built-into the template - the text comes from default values plugged into the "General" information of the blog. Even if I were to leave those fields blank, the line would be there (it would just be empty).
